I´ve really enjoyed watching the first few episodes and just got this one recommended to me. Well done on your first podium(s)! The next logical step in my opinion would be the Toyota GR86. @@andrewcassells9391 Good man mate, you should! Thanks for the car recommendations, it does make me nervous getting out of the Mazda, I have done a couple of races at Limerock in the Mazda this week which have gone well, I may stick to that for irating but I will be moving to another car for the MPR so it will be a good time to decide and test them out. Only thing I find is new cars new track every time. Double learning curve!
Very impressed with the way you're trying to build this. You've obviously given it a lot of thought. And, it's a decent spin on the "I did iracing" format. Nice. I would race more once you've got the track down... race, race, race...I'd be up for a race :-)
@@Jennings1810 Thank you for that mate, it's a lot of work as I'm a new TH-camr and new iRacer, but loving it to be honest. That's awesome, I'll put your name down mate!
That's a lot of practice and it shows! Another massively visible step of improvement Kezza! I too, think the next logical step is the GR Cup or the Production Car Challenge. The Ferrari Challenge is also D Class but it was a bit too big of a jump for me straight out of rookies. PCC is multi class and is a little bit longer of a race and you get to choose if you would like to drive the GR or the MX5 again. I would not pay for the BMW GT4 car for the PCC because that is the older model not being raced in any other series. Depending on the track, PCC can either be worth the challenge or pure carnage. For me, it was worth it when it was at Summit Point but carnage at Charlotte Roval. GR Cup was carnage at Navarra and clean at Rudskogen. Nice to have an option if one is more trouble than it's worth or if one has less than ideal weather conditions. Rain races can be fun though, depending on the car. You will be participating in rolling start races for the first time in D Class races. You will see others weaving to try and warm up their tires. Don't do it. The best way to warm up the tires is from the inside out, by dragging the brakes hard. Full throttle in first or second gear, control speed with left foot braking. It's also much safer than weaving. SR is active in the rolling start. You can drive at racing speeds before the green light as long as you do not overtake until after the green light. Knowing this, some race leaders will come to a crawl before the green light in an attempt to back up the traffic and create a gap behind them. This often causes large pile ups right after the pace car enters the pit lane. You can avoid crashing if you expect it to happen. I thought the nerves were going away but as soon as I changed car and/or track, it was back full force! I think you get better at driving with nerves though. Its part of the fun for me, racing while your heart is pounding and your palms are sweaty, it makes me feel so alive I wouldn't have it any other way haha! And nothing feels quite like your first podium or your first win, congratulations! Time to chase the dragon! Oh and I'm interested to know more about the subscriber race, what a fun idea! Do you have an idea what car and track it will be? Put me down as interested please, thanks!
@@SimNub Love this comment, amazing advice, legend! Not sure what car or track yet, might do a vote in the community but, I'll put all the names of interested drivers in the next video and and do the vote, hoping to get it going asap.
Congrats on the Class D - Start looking at whatever you like the look of - honestly just have fun at this point, enjoy the learning curve. Take a look at Production Car Challenge (you can use the Mazda in that), look at GT4 Falken, GR86 is a great series, TCR Touring Cars are quite different and maybe best left for a bit as it could be frustrating at first! Don't overlook free content like the Kia in the Fanatec Global Challenge and the Spec Racer Ford in the SCCA. So many options! Have fun!
Enjoying the journey My only feedback would be to display the Relative position rather than what position you’re in and number of laps. That way when you pass a back marker you’ll know and not think someone in 2nd is in front of you when you’re 3rd and it’s really someone you’re lapping..
Thank you Jonathan, I have finally sorted that out going forward and worked out how to do it, gamechanger lol! Thanks for your support and the positive feedback mate!
Good job getting your D license mate, from here I'd recommend picking up the Ferrari 296 GT3 so you can drive in the Ferrari GT3 Challenge, great car, great tracks and the quality of the racing is much better than the rookie classes too, enjoying seeing your improvement. Seems my last message on the last vid was premature. You're improving really quickly and getting back into the seat quickly even after a few bad races. Pretty envious of your speed of learning compared to when i started long ago. The M2 CS is pretty fun and trains you on throttle control and braking lighter & earlier for smoothness. The GR86 is great, I find it's much more grippy & planted than the mx-5 but I've seen others say otherwise. Community race would be fun! Great for learning too.

Got my first podium in Navarro too! I was first in quali, made a few mistakes in the race, ended up 3rd. Very tricky track, but very fun! As for the next car to drive, the GR86 is really fun. Reminds me a lot of MX-5, but faster. The M2 is also fun, but it took me a while learn how to drive it as it is very oversteery.

i would do spec racer ford this week to meet the mpr as it is a free track and car. it’s also quite busy but a difficult car to drive in my opinion. anyway good luck mate keep up the good work 🎉
Great results, great to see no racing line. A massive strength of your racing is your crash avoidance. A couple 0of thing to work on would be using more of the track to gain lap time on corner entry and exit, find the limit in a practise session. Also to work on the nerves when in higher positions, all you can do is replicate your hot laps, don't push anymore than you have practised and nothing can go wrong (in theory) . A little car handling tip, if the car becomes oversteery you can turn aggressively into the slide to induce understeer (very counter intuitive) and this will stabilise the car. This can sometimes prevent over correction. if you want to learn more on car handling SuellioAlmeida is a great watch. It can be very in-depth but also very informative. best of luck in the next races
@@martinfisher9713 Honestly mate, your tips are gold, same as last week, thank you again. Love the understeer tip and such a great tip about not pushing past your known limits. So simple but so true, I do it a lot in the races thinking it will come off magically but you're spot on!

Lol. Now that is funny! I'm sure that when you get used to it it will help lots!
It looks like you've made a massive improvement already since your last video. Well done! 👍
@@ScrubbRacer This week has been a reality check though! 🤣

Have fun!
@@isctony Thanks mate, yeah you're right, so many options, great advice, dead nervous about leaving my Mazda 🤣
Looking forward to the next one!
Cheers buddy! That's great advice and thank you for the kind comments, really appreciate your support! The Ferrari sounds awesome to be honest, bit faster than the Mazda, haha!

To be fair mate, I'm utterly obsessed at the moment and quiet in the winter work wise, so I have a lot of time on my hands to play, lol.

@@TimImasa Congrats mate, I actually really enjoyed Navarra after a few days but the first couple were savage 😂

Focus on using all of the track available on exit letting the car all the way out and try exit the corner faster “slow in fast out”

It's an ambitious goal, for sure! But I've subscribed to come along for the ride. My goal ATM is to hit 2k irating, but only using the Porsche Cup car. Every time I get to 1.8, I get knocked back down!
You are spot on mate, ridiculous goal but I do love a challenge! Awesome work on getting so close to 2k, it's been a lot easier for me as I'm racing people on a lower iRating like mine but obviously the game gets way harder at your level! Keep going!

Gents, this might make you laugh. So I was having a chat with a mate today and he said, how is the force feedback on the g923? It's a bit rubbish to be honest, I said, never even really noticed it, at which point he asked, 'Have you even got it turned on?'
Surely it's on, I thought. So I go into my settings on iRacing and the force feedback is greyed out. Weird. Do a bit of troubleshooting and it suggest I try another USB port, so I try that and boom. There's the force feedback. It's NEVER been on from the start. I've just been racing by eye. What the actual feck 🤣🤣🤣 So now I gotta get used to actually racing with this thing again, haha
And frankly, I blame you lot as you never even noticed there was no lights on, on the wheel, and I have to blame someone. 🤣 I just thought I bought a crappy wheel and the force feedback was so bad that I couldn't even notice it. #firstwheelproblems
