- This bride and her entourage are looking for a unique dress. When the attendant brings one made by Christine Dando, they don't mince their words, and criticise it. What they didn't know was that the fashion designer was at the appointment!

That first bride that was told she was to big to try on dresses, I feel so bad for her, she is so pretty.
This is a classic example of why people need to stop judging people for thier bodies. I'm in exactly the same situation as her. Went from a size 6 to a size 20 due to a problem with my pituitary. It is so hard to deal with people's looks, thier judging stares when you eat out, the way they avoid you on the beach, even though there is nothing that can be done to change it.
😬 I really wanted her to see Jo and Al. Just my opinion, but of all these shows, I feel like only Jo and Al understand how to (and have the inventory to) dress a larger sized woman for best effect. (I admit, though, I do wonder what a dress from their boutique costs.)
It doesn't matter if she's pretty or not. A fat not pretty bride deserves to have the same experience as thin brides.

@@andydufresne5297 I thought that, too. Jo and Al wouldn't have tweaked designs; they would have searched more diligently, and addressed the bride's confidence issues as well. They are the experts.

Unfortunately ALL these bridal shows put brides in dresses over their budgets….goes with the marketing of the dresses.
@@karenacton3854 honestly i've only ever seen lori's consultants put a bride in a dress over-budget when *the bride/family* insists on it - they never ask brides to "stretch the budget." and if they do come across a situation where the only dress the bride likes is over budget, it will either be on sale for under budget or lori will straight up give them a discount to make it affordable.
Actually, Lori, Monte and their manager (forgot her name) wouldn't, David wouldn't, and Randy wouldn't. I noticed, that if they go over budget, it's always the non-main consultants (excuse my poor english, it is not my first language) or the bridal party pushing it

Both chosen dresses are perfect for each bride. The floral will look even more stunning in Italy

Agree, it has an antique lace & antique gold / baroque vibe to it, with a modern/colorful twist, i might not like it on just anyone or in any setting but on her and in Italy? Yeah I can see that 🤩
If you Google her wedding you will see she did not get the dress. She wore a white lace dress with a shawl overlay.

well, they have tried to sell that golden dress in just about EVERY episode.... and although i must say I don't apppreciate putting her in a dress way over her budget, the fact that she really loved it - and it DID look different on her than on every other woman - seems to make it alright.
Plus there's the possibility she wanted to try it. Maybe it caught her eye. I don't like when they bring something in and don't mention its over budget.
I am a bridal consultant, and let me say: they usually let the customers know the price if it's above budget before she tries it on. Also, she wanted something different, and perhaps they did not have her dream dress under 1500 pounds.
Turns out she didn't actually wear it. She wore a white cape one.
I would just say put me in a dress over budget and you pay everuthing over it to the staff
I think having the designer around is wrong. The entourage won't be able to comfortably tell what they don't like about the dress for fear of offending the designer. It's like guilting them into buying the dress.

@@PrisGallicchio It does feel weird! It’s possible that she was at the shop and wanted to see her dress on the person who pulled it. I’ve seen that happen. But they are _always_ immediately introduced as the designer!
If I were a designer, though, I would be interested to hear people’s honest opinions on my work. I could see how it might be tempting to sneak in!
Most designers want the bride to get the right dress, as well, whether it’s theirs or not. I wouldn’t want someone who wasn’t really excited to be in my design!

I agree that it's awkward as hell for the bride and her party to be criticizing the dress with the designer present, but at the same time, a designer should be able to hear criticism about their designs and not be offended. She makes beautiful dresses, and she knows they're not going to be to everyone's taste. Someone, somewhere, will love the feather dress, and that's who she designed it for.

Also SYTTD UK: That hardly matters. We're gonna put you in a generic Dando London dress anyway. And it's probably gonna be over-budget.

For the second bride, I can't wrap my head around the fact that the garden dress scremed bridal for her while the first dress didn't. The first dress was so timeless and classy

That last dress was beautiful. When the veil was added it seriously made me gasp. It is stunning and perfect for this bride and where the wedding will take place. I like more traditional wedding dresses but this is just wonderful. I love how the first bride looks so beautiful in the dress with the illusion neckline. I understand about medicine making you put on weight. She looks so beautiful in this dress. So lovely the dress and her

The second bride and her entourage should have been more respectful, it's very hurtful when someone is criticizing you without knowing you are standing infront of them..
so many entourages in this show don't know how to provide constructive criticism or use the "compliment sandwich" to reject a dress they don't like.
The veil that went with that gold and flowers dress is breathtaking. I'm not usually a fan of when they go over a bride's budget. But she was specifically looking for different, and different costs money. And that dress isn't actually that expensive for how unique and gorgeous it is. I think she made the right choice.
Not every thing the second bride tried on was "classical bridal" as she stated. She said the first dress was more "red carpet". The designer was very gracious.

A true designer will always be ready to accept that their designs will be loved by some and hated by others..... If we all liked the same there would be only 1 design, and we would all agree with everything!
The point of designing loads of different dresses is so there is one for everyone!

As someone who used to work in a department store in the juniors dress department I can honestly say it’s very frustrating when you get in a plus size girl or women not that she gets us frustrated we straight up know as a consultant that we have no dresses in her sizes and it’s embarrassing for us and puts us in an awkward situation I use to either have to tell them that we don’t go up to their size or when we see them we already know right away that we don’t have a dress for them and it’s like ok how can I say this nicely

The 2nd bride's dress looks stunning on her. SYTTD made me realize that some dresses require a kind of look and personality of the bride to match the style it's going for. But a dress that just doesn't fit the bride isn't necessarily bad. Of course there are hideous gowns out there but I have yet to see a gown in my SYTTD marathon that made me want to puke my guts out.
