    Thank you for this video. Just used this to help me add a second SSD drive to my HP ZBook Studio G3. Screwdriver needed (and the one used by the video author) is a T8 T8H Torx. These sell for about $5.99 on Amazon. I believe any M.2 interface SSD drive should work, to play it safe I just bought one identical to my OEM drive off EBay (HP put a Samsung MZNLN256HMHQ-000H1 in my system). Installed drive and had to go to Device Manager and rescan for it to show up, then used Windows 10 partion utility. Less than $40 invested and I was able to double my SSD hard drive space and probably would have never opened the system if it were not for this demonstration video,

    Thanks for the video, Kevin! It looks like in order to be able to remove and replace the keyboard, you'd pretty much have to remove every single component inside the chassis - including the motherboard - first. :3

      +murur0a I watched the HP technican doing it. It's not impossible, but there is definitely room for error if you don't repair laptops on a regular basis.
      I reckon you could do it if you followed a guide.

    Hello!
    I would like to ask you three questions about upgrading your HP ZBOOK G 3 - T7V62EA:
    1. Please specify if the WWAN slot in a HP Zbook G3 laptop supports a ssd cache?
    2. If so, please specify which is the recommended capacity for a SSD that is used for caching in the WWAN slot if one of the slots has a 2.5 " HDD of 5 Terra?
    3. Please specify if it is recommended to use a high-capacity ssd for the cache (for exemple 128 GB or 256 GB) to increase HDD speed?
    Thank you!

    Hello mate, on my studio, the battery charges for about 10 seconds then nothing, so it's basically on zero percent all the time, ang recently it started to occasionally turn itself off, I'm assuming after 7 years or so it probably needs a new battery, what's your thoughts, have you come across this before.

    • @KevinMuldoon
      @KevinMuldoon  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are frequently variations of laptops that are 15.6" and above.
      One variation is a larger battery and two or three M2 NVME SSD slots. You'll sometimes see an option of having a smaller battery so that you can add a 2.5" SSD in.
      If there isn't space for a 2.5" drive in your laptop, you'll have to use M2 NVME drives.

      +Papa Bizon The first thing an HP engineer told me to do when I called about the problem with my laptop they told me to open it up. Later, someone from the third party company that handles repairs said that I should not open it up.
      All of the engineers I spoke to said that it simply isn't practical for owners not to open it up as discharging the battery and removing the RAM are necessary when troubleshooting issues. I agree with that.
