In this video I’m featuring a very cool mid 20th century table candelabra by the Danish designer and maker Carl F Christiansen of Copenhagen. It dates to around 1955 and is referred to as the propeller candelabra. It was certainly a lucky find and I’ll show you how to prepare it for sale and how to make money from it.

David’s advice is spot on, his system for increasing value especially for smaller less expensive vintage items, has worked for me. I have bought and sold vintage and antique goodies for a long time. My thrill is in the learning discoveries I make, the “built in” history lessons that always happen, never a dull moment! Of course, the adrenaline rush of the sale of something I bought for a song, and sold for a profit, is always tops! And I do see that same sparkle in David’s eyes too-! Where would you recommend buying these smaller cost items if you don't mind me asking?...
I'm seriously thinking of becoming semi-retired and having some fun with it but also making some money by buying and selling antiques as I've always had an interest in it.
@@davidholgate123 Hello David. It is said “one man’s junk is another man’s treasure. Often my finds are at yard and boot sales, and estate sales. Thrift stores (op shops) don’t yield as much as they used to especially post Covid.

David - I've often heard that one should NOT clean an item. The patina should show the character of the piece. When do you clean and when don't you? Thanks!

Bits worth 50 quid add up. Bits costing a fiver and worth less add up too, unfortunately. As for this one, I found the maker's mark in about ten seconds flat - far easier than just having the design.
Put a tenner in the bank and see if you can double your money...and have fun😊
