Accidentally hitting E and jumping off my Argy is so common that I always have parachutes in my toolbar.
Though sometimes I’ll hit the wrong button again and, instead of parachuting safely, I whip out the spyglass and get a closer view of the ground rushing up to kill me.
Relatable.

I tried to use a club to knock a wolf(I was too lazy to make tranqs) and I died and I can’t find my loot because I died too much and I’m on SE. I don’t know why I didn’t check dododex.
One thing I've figured out to reduce accidental "Whistle All" incidents is to set a whistle group up for a dino you can easily keep track of, and whenever you're in the base, make sure to stay on that group unless you are traveling with a group of dinos you personally like to use. With a single group, any dino that is not in the group, will not respond to whistles unless you select "clear taming group" or directly whistled at. You can also set your personal tame to ignore group whistles so tribemates won't accidentally whistle all them.
Also, a great tip to avoid excessive food spoilage for carnivores is to actually cook the meat before to place it in their inventory or a feeding trough. It lasts much longer than if it were left raw, and dinos will still eat it just fine. It makes raising babies much easier since you don't have to worry about spoiled meat taking up their inventory. Another great thing about cooking meat before placing in a trough is that cooked meat stacks to 50 a stack as opposed to 40 if it's left raw. This means you can actually pack a trough with more food if you only take the time to cook it beforehand, ergo less hurried meat runs when you suddenly realize everybody is starving to death.
Also, also, to add to the food trough tip, any food that is placed to the left most slot in the trough's inventory will be consumed by the dinos first.
This rule also applies to devices that use resources to craft items in their inventories as well. If you find yourself constantly running out of slots in a fabricator or Smithy, try managing the inventory to have the stack with the lowest amount in it set higher than the other stacks of that resource. You can also take a stack out and place it back in to auto fill all or most partial stacks of that resource to easily condense the amount of slots taken up in said container (at least on Xbox, not sure about PC).
Another tip for the whistles is you can set a dino to ignore group whistles in their behavior so they don't react at all to the Whistle All command.
I jest set all mine to ignore group whistles because i never wanted to use it before so i made it usless
I tamed my first chalicotherium and took him for a spin. Threw rocks at a pack of wolves, got pinned and killed so fast 😅😂
I finally crafted a max level enforcer on extinction, jumped off a cliff to take it for a spin and landed on top of a megalosaurus and died instantly

Absolutely love this, because these mistakes are all the reasons I play single player and have it heavily modded with... basically everything that counters these moments. Leave a Dino in a cave, pray I didn’t forget to throw an awesome Dino tracker on said Dino and pull it back to me if it’s not dead. If it died I can either pull an older version of it - or revive it via another mod. 😂 I’m not kidding when I say my Ark is modded to counteract Ark and my own Dumbarsery. If anything my issues are now forgetting to put down my sinks and then dying of dehydration, because I’ve used those mats for a building I didn’t need quite then. 🤦🏼♀️ *Cough-* Almost forgot: Automated Trough has a baby trough that if powered and left on, will feed and even initial imprint babies. So you never have to worry about a baby again, if you have power.
I would love a list of those mods so that i never have to worry about babies dying ever again

ive seen a million "mistakes i make" or "things i wish i knew before playing" guides on games and IMO this is prolly the best one i ever seen. weirdly underrated!
Use cactus broth and bug repellent while wearing a ghillie suit on land or cactus broth and diving suit when under water and you will be invisible to everything and nothing will aggro on you. So you can just walk, swim into caves or steal eggs with nothing even looking at you.

Unlike in real life, I like having all things ordered in Ark, which is why we often have like 10 vaults. Off the top of my head:
1. Weapons
2. Armor
3. Tools
4. Saddles
5. Building
6. Artifacts
7. Skins
----
8. Resources
The resources vault is always next to the fabricator, smithy and chemical bench, which is why it's separated.
Anytime I organize my vaults, it never lasts.
My teammate gets annoyed with me and organizes my vaults every couple of weeks 🤣

Guilty of a lot of these mistakes. Breeding, taming, relocating, being speedy, and one I can only hope I'm not alone on this. I always forget that I have Hardcore Mode on when progressing through other maps. Trying to keep certain runs separate from each other. I've lost a lot of progress with a few characters cause of this.
as someone who hits up beaver dams often, Open > hover over wood and press "O" to drop it > click transfer all > resist urge to press esc to back out because it being destroyed will back out.
Got back into Ark recently, last time I played was 2015-2016ish, and the amount of times I’ve yeeted myself off my ptera in the last week should be a cardinal sin! It’s gotten so bad I’ve started carrying parachutes 🥴

Couple tips: If your falling off a dino quickly press tab and type reconnect this will cause you to log out instantly - or have 500 hp
When pvping go into 3rd person and aim for there legs as it breaks them faster
Wooden billboards are a substitute for metal but only if the dino isn't a giga or a rex
For taming the rule of thumb is 10-40-100 ie for differing sizes of dinos and if you do somehow run out just use a boomerrang
Whips are for children and by performing a crouch glitch you can force multiple caps of loot into an area that you can move in 1.2 seconds(crouch drop a bag of something you don't care about and then popcorn into it/drop all your stuff into by pressing O)

I have almost 10 characters in all my single player worlds. Been playing since the game came out on pc. You're telling me the thousands of whip drops or blueprints I've dropped not knowing you can lash items back to you.... I feel like a moron hahahahahahahaha
I am cursed to have a combination of these every freaking time. Flying mount not on follow but accidentally on aggressive, press E high up, no parachute, no backup flyer, no gps tracker, no idea where it went and of course I came back to get all of my stuff with no armour, tools, weapons, food or water and oh, that's a wild Argy... Yeah, I feel your pain...
The best is when you’re flying over the ocean (Fjodur specifically) and the server or game glitches, you get kicked, and then log back in to you in the ocean next to thousands of all of the horrible ocean critters. Instant death.
Seeing your mistakes is like looking at myself... and all the crazy things I tend to make. :D
Thanks for the video I needed the laugh, I just got my roommate to start the game a few weeks ago for the first time after all these years.
I warned him about building so close in the beginning Beach and even on a server of three people, someone came in with one powerful team and wiped out all 10 of his loved ones, now he's renting his own server and I'm going to try to find some more people to play on steam with us, he's trying to learn the game and the Ragnarok map up and down before we go back to the official servers.
Hopefully I can find a few more people because he loves to build and this is definitely his type of game.

I dismount flyers so often that it's muscle memory now to flick left while spamming E. 90% of the time I recatch the flyer. Helps also when you run out of stamina and do the slow fly down. You can cancel out of being ejected by immediately recatching the bird

This is so hilarious because we ALL do this stuff. And then we blame it on Ark. XD We even make a verb out of it. Yup, got myself Arked yesterday.
I like to build up high so I'm always waking up in the morning and yeeting myself off my base forgetting my sino jumps off my back when a log out.
I think the "not killing low level" one is literally everyone though, i know i don't often do it lol

gotta love the ol' hit the E key while midair trick.
skuba gear is best used, primarily the tank, its best to put it on at low oxygen, watch the oxygen bar and take it off when its high enough, like >80%. it saves a lot of durability. also its best to have oxygen to around 250-400, not too high
im starting on ark and im saving all my charcoal, not for an specific reason i just thought it might be useful in the future, even I don't know what to do with it yet
some people set the difficulty higher, others just play like pterafier^^
I really like flying around on the Tropeo. At least 25% of the time I take one to a beaver dam, I accidentally use the wing flap attack while trying to land. If you're not familiar, it one shots beaver dams with like, 100k's of damage. RIP my pearls and paste.
Um hi, I’ve played around 500 hours (so noob) and this is the most relatable video I’ve ever seen. Basically a tutorial for how I’ve played up to this point.
since this will be my first time playing ark on console (ive played only on mobile pvp) should i start by playing on a solo world or jump straight into pvp any tips?

The biggest mistake I make is getting emotionally attached, to anything, that first lvl 30 PT? Ammillio will be missed, my first base location? Two alpha raptors say hello, my thyla I use as a travel mount with only four melee mutations but I got tired of breeding and he had a cool color? Michael Jackson is now obsolete, that pegomastax you accidentally tamed because you always put food in the last slot for some reason? Picked up and eaten alive by the worlds most agile Ichthyornis while you try your hardest to save him. RIP STIKK you will be missed.

I cannot speak for those, who cannot/do not play with mods; but, as someone who does - Revive My Dino cryopods allow the creature to keep its inventory, and has no cryosickness. That’s one way to bring supplies for projects. Another mod that is just way more cheat-y: Awesome Teleporters. I use those when I know I’m going somewhere dangerous, because they let you retrieve your corpse - much like a death revival mod - and can locate misplaced dinos, that you’ve put an awesome Dino tracker in. It’s super cheat-y, but Ark will Ark and I, personally, refuse to be a victim to actual fu-kery (or a giga on a mountain). I’m enough of a derp being autistic, the game doesn’t need to help me, be more mentally incapable. 🤣
I don't know about "accidentally" but I have a real bad habit about deleting older save files in a lot of my games. Especially ones like Skyrim, Fallout 4, even ARK. If I go too long without playing them, I just end up resetting my save file and starting over, no matter how far along I was in that save.
There is a program, mainly for single players, that you can use to find high level dinos. On all official maps. Larkator is the name. I use it to locate stuff I would like to tame. Or hunt.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that feels like an idiot when playing this game. I was literally raging so hard when I first ever started playing a month ago. Dying to that annoying beach bird
im playing ark for the first time and i feel like i know what to do but I don't know where to start, all the stuff I've seen seems so overwhelming i don't know where to begin, I've made some guns and tamed some good dinos but i still fear new areas thinking I'll lose all the dinos and it kinda prevents me from progressing

Pro-tip: put oviraptor on follow and marvel how it loots wyvern, etc eggs without agro
So fly the Ovi-raptor to the nest and it will pick up the eggs? I've been playing for a fair few years and this is the first I've heard of this and now my curiosity needs to be satisfied with more context pleeeease 🧐
@@Lana-ck9mx exactly! but use a cryopod if possible, be sure to have it on follow and watch the magic happen. Ideal for server with no cryo sickness
I have literally several hundred tames, so I don't have the tame shortage issue.
And when I tame, I usually get at least 2-4 dupes just incase, a good example being when I lost my desmodous, and my otter, due to going afk over the fire wyvern trench in fjordur, and my desmo landing in the lava. I had two more desmo. And no spare otters.
I was definitely sad.
But honestly, playing ark mobile so long before I got on standard ark, I think that's given me enough experience.
Accidentally hitting E and jumping off my bird over a trex is my go to. Just did it earlier today and spent 3 hours getting my stuff back.
I can absolutely agree with the backup Dino's. My buddies and I have had the server on Fjordur since it came out (it's our favorite map by far) and I get asked in Discord "Hey Justin can you come with me to get my Dino back?" Everyone knows I have a soul station with 60 different backup dinos. I have the most time out of all of us since I work 7 day shifts so I work 7 straight days and get 7 days off. I get lots of time to play🤣
Starving baby critters? AutoTrough mod FTW. Heals, feeds, speeds up breeding, mating, growth rates, high chance of triplets.... From egg to Adult in under 5 mins

having things all over is somthing i do but i play pve mostly and like to have builds dedicated to something normally ends up with me tribing by myself cause people piss me off when they move stuff somewere else or tear down a wall and replace it with a door cause it's faster to go this way >.> sorry for not wanting to live on 6 foundations while using 100 S+ crafting stations to bug spoil timers...also fall damage caps at 500
Flyer landing due to low stamina next to a very powerful creature I THANKFULLY learned very early on in the game and got lucky. I wanted to land and suddenly saw a carno. I started flying up and was high enough for the carno not to be aggro but then my pteradon ran out of stamina and slowly landed on the ground and I was just staring at the carno from a distance, and got my stamina back then stares flying away. I made sure to always land when I have a good amount of stamina left. I also ditched the pteradon the moment I could omg their stamina sucks
I stoped playing ark when extinction came out and it wasn't bc I didn't like the game it was bc all I had was Xbox and bad wifi but now I have over 113 hours in ark in just 2 weeks but anyways thanks for your content really helps to ketch me up
i dont tame anything till im level 60 or more - harvest everything by hand till that point - need your own lvls up beforehand - tame max lvls only - i live in ghillie armor, unless i would hard freeze - dodge everything - i build on small islands or in caves only - keep your best bps, unless you can give them to another player if they're duplicates

Yeh, backup creatures is a massive problem for me, I have one tame I always like using, get surrounded or game crashes, I die , I then don’t have another creature to get my old stuff
Made them all,a lot more than i want to admit it. I'm not dumb just like you i get caught up in the game and all the decisions I get in a hurry. I think the one that bothers me the most is whistle my creatures to follow. Me like you have them placed very methodically.

Nothing is sacred, not even the universal double squat, it's just to test to see if you'll be an easy target or not.
the thing i do the most is upload my character. especially when I'm loading in a boss fight. Alpha king titan fight. I loaded him in and then hit upload character and deleted my entire inventory including my high power cryopod tames

This one is second youtuber without idiotic high-pitched voice and doesnt beg for likes and subs, and no longa$$ intro for 5 minutes untile I can get to meat and potatoes. Good job mister. Your kind is rare, almost extinct.
When I build my base I pretend it's a real house. That way the layout makes sense. Kitchen + near greenhouse = easy cooking, all crafting items + dedicated storage = functional warehouse, and so on. That way you already know where to unload all your stuff naturally without much thought.
love how a third of these could be prevented if you kept parachutes on your hotbar 😅
So all the charcoal that I've been stacking up in my campfire is useful later in the game damn now I'm happy that i left all the charcoal there to save inventory space and for thinking every item has its uses 😐😐
hmm..I can relate to:
1. accidentally dismounting from the argy mid flight
2. semi-poorly organized(I am getting far better about this one though)
3. never having enough supplies
4. having a crap starting base location and needing to relocate at least once
That said.... I don't really have a problem with not having enough dinos... really, I often have too many. Sadly, most are often fairly low level, because i'm such a tamer of opportunity, throughout the early/midgame, and don't ever release and kill the old dinos often enough. honestly, it's a real problem, because they're usually so low of a level that they're not terribly useful at the point I need them. In one of my playthroughs on the island, I had like 12 parasaurs... my justification was "oh, i'll just slaughter the lot of them once I get my base moved, but for now they'll serve as great caravan dinos". guess who didn't slaughter the parasaurs after the move and had a shortage of hide a few hours later? yep...🤣
I have literally only once used a trap in taming. On a mantis. Didn't work.
I usually just shoot from a mount, or use an equus to kick it out.

I put off resource dinos and farming stuff pretty much indefinitely in every single playthrough, I never tame a doedic, I never tame an anky, I never get a bee hive, I keep telling myself I'm going to do it in my next play session, then the moment I log on I get distracted by something more exciting and forget to do it. In my last world I got deep into tek tier, got bored and started a new world without ever taming an anky or a doedic

Funny that, i kept the charcoal when i started. I was like “its carbon has to be something i can use it for”. I tossed the rotten meat though……ooops.
The fliers one I hate it! 😫 I always have to take two with me I usually take a wyvern and a pteranodon 😭
I have a half imprinted baryonyx for caves she is a beast like im talking a baryonyx that can take on several plesiosours , a tusotufis, a mosa and just about anything jn the cave she is oretty strong with just so much dumoed into health and males
And one of these things happen to be falling off cliffs because we have access to b glitching which negates all fall damaged we use it to navigate aberration with ease all the time
Alot of these I've done. With me I always trust putting alot of points in oxygen would be better than scuba XD

for dismount put y so you never accidently dismount i learned to do this after i had my flyer on follow me and accidently jumped of under a alpha rex i luckily managed to get on the flyer though
One I accidentally do is using a bola on my own creature when I’m trying to tame something like a raptor.
I was gonna do hardcore scorched, then there was a raptor pack I was gonna bola.
Then, I used a bola and it hit my own raptor so it died then I died to a different raptor because I didn’t have my own as defense.
Ok I do all this so ur not alone. However. I need a bary for caves. If I don't have a bary or if bary can't fit in a cave. I'm not going....
Also I keep forgetting I can put Bary in a ball n do cave runs.
