In league that would be a red card all day long and at least a 6 game ban. Contact with the ref/official is deemed to be a really big no-no, even 'accidental' contact can and will get you a game or two in the sheds and rightly so IMO. What we see here is ludicrous, Barnes should have sent him off for that!

i think it was a best of 3 series and the Lions were winning the series with a draw so kicking the ball out at that point would've given the lions the series win. I might be wrong.

I didn't hear or see the ref blow the whistle. Surely the brain fade was the falcons player picking the ball up from clearly offside?
The brain fade came from the offside player, and the ref who forgot to blow his Whistle for the original knock on, therefore, play to the Whistle

@@urnangaey7239 How was he offside without kicking, he grabbed the ball to play the scrum, every one stopped to play then, btw you can see the ref putting the wristle in his mouth at 1:16 and you can hear it if you pay attention.
@@tm.8399 He's in front of the teammate who last played the ball. Picking up after a knock-on is also offside. I think the ref blew, but maybe it was too short/soft for everyone to hear.

Can someone explain what happened at 3:15?
The score was 18-12 and he went for a drop goal in the last play of the game which is worth 3 points, he thought they were 3 points or less down.
I came here to watch interesting rugby events. The comments were interesting regarding Folau- some people seem to find the whole thing very emotionally triggering and fly insults at each other because they disagree with the political angle.
Who would've thought rugby of all sports would become a political circus..

He called the referee a "fucking cheat" simply because he conceded a penalty at the scrum, a scrum in which they'd been dominated at all game so not only was it stupid to say it in the first place but it was actually ridiculous to suggest that the referee was awarding the penalty because he preferred the other team.
Red card for swearing! 😂 Wayne Barnes is the worst professional referee in the world! Cheat? Maybe not. Incompetent game spoiler? Definitely.
@@andystrachan598 He wasn't red carded for swearing, he was red carded for calling the referee a cheat. Even if you have that opinion on Barnes (I personally disagree, I think he's a very good ref) you do not call the referee a cheat, especially as captain, especially at half time in a final. Idiotic at best, and the 8 week ban that Hartley received as a result would suggest that Barnes was very right. Look at the first clip, Barnes gets pushed by a player, and was strongly criticised by a number of commentators for not sending him off, and the player in question received a 14 week ban. You're idiotic to suggest he's a game spoiler.
Oh yeah, Dylan Hartley's an even bigger douche than Wayne Barnes. How he's been Saints and England captain for so long is mind boggling. I still think jumping straight to a red for that is an overreaction, but Hartley shouldn't be captain anyway given his poor disciplinary record.
