Beautiful! My toms don't have a deep sound like yours. Does it mean I need different drum heads? I have the heads that came with it (Tama) but they have no depth.

Hi Freddie, thanks for you comment and question. The heads I’m using are coated Remo ambassador on top and clear ambassador on bottom. There is a considerable amount of studio processing (EQ, compression and reverb) and room mic manipulation, that combine to achieve the sound. If your budget allows, it doesn’t hurt to experiment with different heads to find the sound you like. Things to consider, there are so many things that contribute to a drum sound, including the room you are playing in, your tuning, the types of heads, the type of microphone, placement and processing. Hope this helps

My set is in the basement with no acoustic tiles or mikes, ha - don't laugh at me. I always wondered why drums like yours have that deep sound and mine don't sound anything like it. Hi Freddie, nothing wrong with being self taught, I taught myself and are still learning 30 plus years on. Check out Tommy Igoe, his books Great hands for a lifetime and Groove Essentials are excellent.
On the topic of drum sound, the sound you hear from your drums, will be very different from the processed sound you hear on a recorded track. The best advice I can offer about tuning drums is experiment a lot with different tunings to find what you like.
If you are into reading drum notation, OnlineDrummer have a good variety of stuff for free & purchase, (I got the notation for this song from these guys) there is also a Facebook group called Drum Chart Archive too.

Interface is a Presonus 1818vsl with a Presonus Digimax D8.
DAW is Studio One Artist, all drums have individual mics, 2 overhead mics and one room mic. This was recorded in my shed, concrete floor etc. Hope this helps🤙
