Great stuff Craig! I tend to beat up my nail and 1st knuckle on my pick finger. It looks like your thumb stays parallel ? Would love to see a shot of your strumming hand down the neck to see wrist motion.
Thank you! Most of the chords in this video are basically modal for D - th-cam.com/video/g0Ac64ua-xk/w-d-xo.html I'll definitely make a video on chords in the key of A soon too!
I did yeah and the best thing I did was swap to Jim Dunlop Max Grip picks, they’ve got textured grip on them. Other picks slip in my hand even now so try them out and see if they fix it for you, linked them in the description
Celtic?! In Irish trad you have 4 modes, but in Breton music you have 11 modes, I think. Just watching the theory pdf gave me a headache 😛 I Irish trad the most common are the myxolidian and dorian and then aeolian I think. Go n-éiri an bóthar leat!

Great advice for those (like me) that have played guitar for years but are new to playing in trad sessions
Thanks so much for this. Many years a guitarist but this is new to me.
Thanks for all these great tutorial videos! I discovered them just in time for St. Patrick's Day.
Fantastic lesson, just what I needed, thanks

Thank you! You're right as well, my thumb stays parallel as I'm strumming. I'll try to get a more clear shot of my hand position in a future video
Loving these vids mate, you're some player. Have you any tips for modal chords in key of D or A?
