I so glad you’re doing all these lessons and stories. I was lucky to see you with Grease Factor twice in Charlotte NC. A drum circle was playing before you guys and Jeff Sipe was standing outside watching. I was too scared to talk to him but I just thought it was neat to Apartment Q258 watching an odd drum circle. Love your records since the first one, so many hip tones. I’ve been messing around with your song Memphis, love the progression and thought moaning lick in it has so much body and sustain without sounding fake. I don’t know crap so I’m talking out of school. Thanks for the vids and music
man GF was a trip, I miss those guys. And "Memphis" brings back memories. That was Richie Haywards last session i think- and then Johnny Neel put down the harp and the trucker talk bit while we were riding in a van on tour! I still have tracks with Richie from those session that I never used...hmm....thanks for the comment!
Shane great lesson. The only thing that would make it better is to have some progressions that you wrote using slash chords. The more of your playing style on the channel the better.
i would say learn some songs with them- Steely Dan, Squeeze- (Tempted and Black Coffee are full of them) something challenge yourself and you'll get there!
These can help to transform a fairly stock chord progression into something more special. Just experiment with changing the bass notes. Good concept to share and great voicings Shane. Wasn't Todd's slash chord writing influenced by Laura Nero?
@@TheRiotguitar I’m surprised. I sold my (old) Rat after years of never getting anything but a harsh, gritty sound. Yours was smooth gain. Hats off to you (again). Thanks.

Learn something every time. What OD pedal are you using? A lot of girth with single coils. Thanks.
RAT through Blackface Twin, it's what I had hooked up that day!
