You get excited about the same little things i do, the little things like elevation, temps, and historic facts of the area (like undertaker being billed out of death valley... same thing i told my wife when we were there haha) are what make these types of trips most excellent. We push our 2012 Power wagon pretty hard. big girls need love too. yotas are too played out in the overlanding community for me to ever want one. Love seeing the big rams get some love. VERY capable platform.
I just purchased a 2022 Ram 2500 HD diesel 4x4 and look forward to getting back to off roading and overland travel. Good to see routes for full size trucks. I have driven Titus years ago.
Probably too late since this was filmed in 2020 but the power wagons have Thuren Stage 5 and the Cummins had a Thuren overlander leveling kit with front springs and fox 2.0 shocks on all 4
a 3/4 ton to me makes more sense than 1/2 ton, by the time you load up gear, etc the weight actually makes 2500 trucks ride really nice.....the parts, driveline and in general are more robust on these and your already starting with much higher platform than 1500 so lifting is minimal to get 35 or 37s.......the long wheel base isnt a plus but you can store more gear........idk to me it makes more sense except for rock crawling or super tight trails..... i know when i load mine up with say 1000lbs or even 700 it rides like a dream whereas a 1500 you feel the weight alot more
You don’t need to lift at all to fit 37’s on these. But you’re definitely right on everything else. Plus, half tons only come with IFS front suspension…no thanks!
Love the stance and set up on white ram ahead of you . Can you tell me that specs on this set up ? Love the tight wheel / tire offset . How high lift ? Tires ? Wheels ?
I'm curious what the rack and bed cover setup for your buddy in the white power wagon? I have a 2021 with the ram boxes and want to get a rack that works with the boxes.
Awesome video! Making a trip from the bay area to DV at the end of Oct in a Gen 1. Pretty stoked as it's my first time. Not sure where to start. Love seeing a full size truck overlanding. I'm towing a FSR trailer. See how it goes.
All depends on your level of experience and how capable your rig is. Maybe start at Racetrack or even Titus since they are easy but really scenic. We are also in the bay too! Sucks DV is so far away! Haha
Excellent video! I really enjoyed watching it. I've been following Mark on the gram for awhile now. I've been to DV twice but never made it to Titus Canyon. I'll have to get my ram out there sometime!
@@RogueElement ok just checking I just found your channel and was basing it my rig would make some of the stuff you guys do. I am in a 17 Cummins in 37 lower gears tuned and deleted but no lockers
@@jasongardner1910 I had lockers on that Cummins but rarely used them and never changed gears on 37’s. The biggest addition that mattered was the disconnect front sway bar and helping big wig rear that I could disconnect too.
Wow look at those diesel prices. Those were the days. I know California is worse right now but I’m paying on average like $5.69 out in Florida. Unbelievable
My uncle has one but he doesn't really wheel with it but uses it to transport his badass Ural sidecar with it. The mega's have a longer wheelbase so most steer clear of them but the extra interior is nice. We are thinking about a new cummins mega next just to do it
Very cool can't wait to see it should have my cars all payed off next yr then ill be looking thats why I'm thinking 2023 might be the yr. Also noticed your a local I believe noticed the kuiu we are hunters and outdoors family. We are in Fairfield ill keep an eye out for your rig
i have a megacab 5.9, its not very good in tight situations as the wheel base is similar to a crew cab long bed. its not a nimble truck. however its extremely good for carrying gear and family, its super comfy and convenient.
Just so people know, you can do this with a $5k shitbox and a few egg crates for gear. You don't need to be a super dork like this guy and roll around in a $100k truck rigged with radios and shit. All those "tourists" were probably laughing at his over compensation.
@@MrNickjberry just so people know, you can be a little dick clown like this guy who is so bored of beating on his hedgehog of a wife that you too can hop on TH-cam to look at ways to comment dumb shit to try and make yourself feel better after realizing you’re just some sad douche canoe with Napoleon syndrome!

Me and my wife starting off roading last year with a lifted '21 4Runner, and Titus is just awesome! Definitely our fav

Mr_ longhorn west coast is the best coast! Haha...we’ll it is for this type of stuff anyways
Great video thanks! Now n 2022 many of the roads are damaged and closed due to flash flooding
They’ll be back soon…but we would love to see some of the trails get more technical
Hey the white truck with the ram box were did he get his rack from
Dethloff Manufacturing
Could you do a suspension set up on everyone?

what rack is the white Ram using, it's stake hole mount, so nice and you can use the Rambox too
I think it was a homemade rack he had made. It also lifted up. He’s Offroad Treks Channel on here if you want to look it up.

It was a custom made one/prototype by Dethloff Manufacturing but he now makes several versions
What front bumper is that on the white Ram. I've been planning on getting the AEV bumper but that one looks pretty cool
Evil Manufacturing makes it but it still needs work. Prototype
Why did I never leave a comment. What a D-Bag I am. This video rocks!
It’s a shame these trucks “ride like shit” 😂🤣😂🤣
It is a fun drive, but it is frequently driven with a rented Camry.

What's the total current debt on all 3 of these rigs?? And length and girth ???
Take your best guess…we don’t talk about it lol
