Pro tip for those still playing Sims 2: You can turn off cinematic cutscenes (called the Life Event Camera, I believe) in the gameplay menu. I recently had to tell a friend about this when we comisserated about the childhood terror of having sims woohoo for the first time and having to cover the screen and pray our parents didn't come in.
Y'know, sometimes when my Sims can't get to the shower because of a freaking dirty dish, i just make them wash their hands multiple times until their Hygiene goes up

lol In our defense, it's just not any fun using a rude introduction unless your Sim is evil or something. All it does is make whatever goal you're trying to accomplish slightly harder unless your goal was to start some shit (or see how hard it actually is to make friends and enemies.) Burning down the house, on the other hand, could be therapeutic... (Then again, I almost never intentionally set fires either.) XD
I enjoyed it but I can see why some people might not. Living on campus added to the challenge but then getting to class on time is a pain and keeping track of the classes is only easy with Seasons. Plus it took an extra step to edit the dorms. And beyond that, the only fun it really added was during your college days. Once you get that diploma, there's no point in going back unless you're playing a legacy or you have some interesting personal goals. XD

my favourite memories with move objects in the sims 3 was the fact that you could put furniture at the bottom of a pool, and your sims would still use the furniture normally. it would often result in a sim swimming in the air for a bit and then using the furniture in the pool normally. the only issue was that the sims would sometimes get stuck in a swimming motion, making it so that they swam through the floor whenever they would go anywhere. the sims 3 was wild

The reason I started playing Sims is because I saw an ad for Sims 3 and asked my mom if I could buy it. Turns out, my sister used to play a lot of Sims and had Sims 3, so she let me have the game because she didn't play it as often. I was super young at the time and played Sims on the family computer in the living room, so whenever I wanted my sim to get pregnant, I'd ask my sister to have my Sims try for a baby. I'd sit in the hallway until she was done, I'd thank her, and I'd go back to playing the game. I think about that a lot.
I had this beautiful kitchen for my chef with all the best things. It was harvestfest. I told him to make a grand meal. He went ACROSS THE PROPERTY to get to the crappy fridge in the clubhouse and then walks ALL THE WAY BACK and he now does this EVERY TIME he cooks. Thank god he is an elder.

So- When you said that loading screen had anything it could at the bottom, there also was a mini game integrated with the sims 3 where you can earn points to unlock stuff in game with your family- Sims 4....Sims 4 has the loading screen tips but sims 3, had the mini game :3

The reason I started playing Sims is because I saw an ad for Sims 3 and asked my mom if I could buy it. Turns out, my sister used to play a lot of Sims and had Sims 3, so she let me have the game because she didn't play it as often. I was super young at the time and played Sims on the family computer in the living room, so whenever I wanted my sim to get pregnant, I'd ask my sister to have my Sims try for a baby. I'd sit in the hallway until she was done, I'd thank her, and I'd go back to playing the game. I think about that a lot.
I had this beautiful kitchen for my chef with all the best things. It was harvestfest. I told him to make a grand meal. He went ACROSS THE PROPERTY to get to the crappy fridge in the clubhouse and then walks ALL THE WAY BACK and he now does this EVERY TIME he cooks. Thank god he is an elder.
