"Jack and Diane" one of John Melencamp's theme songs which carries us back to the sweetest and innocent times. So fantastic that Ian Mellencamp has so much talent and charisma to continue the family tradition.

Willie, Neil and John have done more for "Family Farmers" than any three Politicians ever have.
I love this song and this toned down rendition of it.

When he released this song, he was a "kid" as John said. He had to change his name multiple times to try to release himself from the crooked record contract he was signed to initially. We were all robbed of time with his musical genius while he battled his way through this time in his life. When he finally did, we got to see more of his musical & song writing genius. "Johnny Cougar" is one of the greatest artists I have been priviledged to be able to listen to & see perform. Long live JC or JCM, or however you know him.

This reminds me of the time I saw Steve Miller in 96 and the crowd kept doing the clapping thing in Take the Money and Run no matter if it was the verse with the Texas reference or not.

Stopping the song midway to remind the crowd how to sing it for him...... at least it's a classic

Famous enough to be drunk enough to not perform well enough to complete a song is a very enviable place to be in life.

agree with both you gentlemen ,Darryyll and Scott,,,, JCM butchered this song at farmaid 2017 as well and showed a lack of respect for his fans in my opinion, come on Mellencamp you can be better than this

I love John Mellencamp's songs! However, his guitar playing?? He looks better just holding it with the band. John Mellencamp plays the guitar just slightly better than Danny Partridge played the bass (if you're old enough to remember the reference).

I didn't want to say it... not sure if all those chords are right but it is his song after all... he really needed a lead guitar on this.
