Yep lol. I saw one mistake so I can see why Craig didn’t give him a 10 but this was an amazing performance
There was a mistake towards the end (1:34).
I also saw a small stumble at the very end, but it doesn't change how brilliant it was overall the score is just a number, the people vote from the emotion they felt watching a dance performance and that was a 10 all the way. I normally just watch i might smile or something but when he got down into the flying push up i squealed also the moment when he pulled Oti towards him looked so perfect they have such great chemistry. I really liked his Rumba and also the Samba but this was his best dance so far im so glad for them both that it happened in Blackpool.
Craig is right though, he did mess up the section near the end when he and Oti were kicking, facing each other.
I'm glad he still got 39, though, this Jive was a triumph. Would love to see it again in the final.

Kelvin has had the three best dances of the season: Samba, Rumba, and now this incredible jive! This MUST be Oti’s year.. she deserves it. Her choreography is just outstanding!
Best pro by a mile. I always have to come to yt to rewatch their dances because as good as Kelvin is, I am always too mesmerised with her the first time around (and it's not because she hogs the spotlight or any of that bs)
You could say the same for Karim. His quickstep, Charleston, tango, foxtrot.

Stephen Brown No. I meant what I said. The three remembered dances from this season will be Kelvin’s Samba, Rumba, and this Jive (up until now). Karim has been consistently good, but hasn’t had a memorable dance thus far. His charleston came close but it was a little too manic.
Lion Cross his quickstep was one of the most memorable for me, as well as the Charleston. Kelvins my other favourite but I find Karim sells his dances more and is more entertaining to watch.
If I didn't already know, I wouldn't have been able to tell who is the pro and who is celebrity, honestly. Tonight show has been amazing, maybe my favourite this whole series but this is my favourite dance of the night, and it definitely deserved a 40!!
lucija That’s what makes Oti such an incredible pro. She ALWAYS choreographs in a way that allows her partner to shine. If you watch Oti doing the jive in a professional setting (you can search on TH-cam) with her husband Marius, you’ll see that she really doesn’t even try to attempt to outdance her celeb partner on Strictly and really ensures that her partner is the centre of attention. She really deserves to win this year!
julie That’s ridiculous. If Oti wanted to make it all about her, she could. But she purposely choreographs in a way that makes her partner shine, not her. I think they’re just mad that they can’t take their eyes off of her. That’s their fault, not hers.
That's so true, I'm not from the UK but I sometimes watch strictly when it pops up in my recommended, and I had to go to the comments section to find out who the pro was! I thought the guy was the pro because he did those push ups & stuff 😂

That's Oti's genius. Let the celeb shine. Watch the other pairings, all you can see is the celeb outshining them to cover their faults or lack of talent instead of letting them do thier thing good or bad. This us why Oti scores high, the judges can see the tremendous work she has done with the celeb.
It was criminal, particularly the flying press ups. The Jail house rocked. Best dance of the evening without a doubt. Oti, Kelvin you knocked the ball out of the park!! Oti’s choreography....Pure Genius. For goodness sake, when on earth is Craig going to lift that 10 paddle for these guys!!!?? 🤔

I was scared of Kelvin jiving, I thought it wouldn’t be his dance but BOY AM I GLAD TO BE PROVEN WRONG! How SLICK was that?! The improvement is so vast and above all I’ve seen him truly embrace the character in this dance. I felt immersed in the character’s world, he just was in his element and was so confident. You can really see why he was looking forward to this dance so much. And Oti brings out the best in him, this was phenomenal. A 10 from me!
I agree,he is a big guy and jive needs to be light but my god did he manage to pull it off,dance of the season so far for me
@@Jac-Jay For sure, I was so pleasantly surprised that I found myself cheering him on the entire time. And I feel he's finally being recognised as more than just a pair of hips and I love that!
@Gold Rose There was the Waltz (but we don't talk about that one!) Tbh when I think of my favourite dances this season most of them come from Kelvin, he's giving us some unforgettable moments and he's just getting better and better!
If you watch closely he was actually flat footed in many of the steps, he didn’t lift his feet enough but the upbeat routine disguised a lot of it, clever choreography.

Kelvins best dance on Strictly so far! Technique - perfect, jive - on fire, Blackpool - GONE. Such a materpiece and he is ready for the finale! Its a 10 from me!
still not over that flying press up move... and GOD his synchronicity and timing especially at the large group moments like 0:35, all those kicks and flicks with kelvin in time with all the professionals... i really feel this is one of those dances that if you showed it to someone who wasn't a regular viewer and asked them who the celeb was, they'd wonder. he was so crisp and clean, and oti choreographed this so well (she killed it too jeeez) it was just so much fun to watch. those moments when they paused with the music, the more restrained 50s windmill, when he slicked back his hair. i'm never bored with a kelvin dance, ever. kudos to them both and all the extra dancers for just smashing this mid-show when it could've been a show closer. LOVE them.
That is how you rock Blackpool! Oti is pure gorgeousness wrapped up in beauty and talent.

Almost threw my PS controller, thankfully I didn't. Often I agree with Craig but this was clearly a 10. He needs to stop judging people to different standards.
Two of the judges obviously don't recognise a first class performance when they see one. That was a forty full marks dance!

Amazing! He may not have gotten a 40, but at least he's got proper 10s again! Finally! And what a sweet man he is, getting Oti's mum in the audience! ❤️
The love behind this dance is evident in their every step. They love hanging out together. The backing dancers are having a blast. He did it for his nan. She got a surprise with her mum. If not four tens it gets four hearts ❤❤❤❤ a hella of lot cheering out of me.
Bloody hell, Kelvin just looked so in control. He knew he was going to nail it and he did.

Goodness me very masculine and powerful jive. Loved the swing elements and the few Elvis moves. I felt maybe his knees could have been higher. But my top 3 dances so far this series and undoubtfully the best jive so far.

A proper jive, plenty of kicks and flicks which can often be lacking with some routines, brilliant and he looked great too 10/10

The difference between Kelvin and Karim is that Kelvin doesn’t realise how good he is... but I get the impression that Karim knows he’s great and gets over confident. However both are excellent. Kelvin and Oti to win!
Pearly Queen - I don’t think Karim gets overconfident but rather he knows his potential (as being told about it by the judges) and really wants to show it to them every week. I feel like they both try their best and try to show the judges their best performance but Kelvin might be a little bit more unaware of his talent (although I’m 99% sure that he’s aware of that incredible strength).
Pearly Queen, I'm glad you've noticed this too, I'm beginning to find Karim quite cocky and boarding on arrogant. He can't seem to let others have their moment when talking to Claudia as well.

there is nothing wrong with being confident, him and kelvin are amazing and just as deserving as each other I would love for either of them to win, he’s over the top yes but what do you expect from a kids presenter, I actually think he comes across as lovely and very humble

Aww Oti and Kelvin, how good was that jive, how refreshing. The choreography of Oti's jive was second to none. Kelvin is so light on his feet and his energy and lightness of touch, his coordination is simply amazing. Oti manages to get the best out of her partners. She was robbed of the glitter ball 2017, she should not be robbed a second time. I've already watched it more than 10 times.

Now that's how you do a jive! The kicks and flicks were so clean and precise. In addition, the background dancers gave a lot of depth to the routine. The energy was on 10 throughout the entire dance. I could see how Craig could give it a 9, but i loved it from beginning to end. *10!!!*

That. Was. Insane. I mean, INSANELY good. Perfect dance and perfect image for Kelvin. (Can we just appreciate how good-looking this couple is? AND they can dance like no one else!) What I like about them is that they seem to dance just for the joy of it. Not for the judges, not for the audience. For themselves. Their joy is infectious. I was smiling from the first minute of their jive and kept smiling long after it was over. Brilliant!
Fast as we wanted it. Clean as we wanted it. Sharp as we wanted it. It was spectacular.
Wife and I watch from the states and have really enjoyed this season, especially Kelvin.

This is no exaggeration, that was my genuine reaction from Watching Kelvins jive all the way through! I was blown away!
This guy has surprised me a lot, even ever since he started this competition! I never expected in a million years that he would have this level of skill!

Danny probably could have won if people weren't so focused on the Clifton sibling rivalry.
Hopefully they win, or Karim. They both deserve it. I hope this year, they will choose a pair who really dances well and not because of how many 'followers' they have. No hating, happened before.. might happen again. Still want Oti and Kelvin to win.

@@benbailey159bb Oh for goodness sakes, grow up. It's called a typo- they are quite common and happen to the best of us (please notice your spelling of the word 'to'). For your information, I am an ex-professional dancer and on this occasion did not watch the show and had to watch the dances via YT clips. In that sense, I was not 'parrot'-ing but merely noticed the same technical aspect as him. Now perhaps go ahead with life trying to be less pessimistic of others.
Oti and Kevin's Jailhouse Rock was stunning. I can watch it over and over again. Brilliant.

Over a year since this superb Jive and I am still.somewhat bemused it didn't get 40. One of the best performances I have ever seen at Blackpool.
Oti's choreography is amazing and I love her personality. She always gets the best out of her celeb partners. My fave pairings were her and Danny Mac (who is gorgeously handsome and lovely -their Samba was amazing!), her and Bill Bailey and of course her and Kelvin! Will be sad to see her leave Strictly 😥
For the 20th anniversary they’ve got to make both kelvin and Oti comeback and do this at Blackpool because so many adore this dance

I’m going to be gutted if they don’t lift the glitter because Oti has always been my favourite pro and because when I found out Kelvin was doing the show I hoped he would be good ,he has smashed it from week one and tonight proved he deserves to win.

@@tom-tx9md I didn't know that but I could tell. He did on the spot turns some weeks back and they were so immaculate that the moment I saw them I said to my sister "that boy is most definitely trained". That's not the type of move an amateur can pull off straight out the gate.

Jessie FranSlam karim went to stage school when he was around six and it was for singing and acting, he’s said himself that the only type of dance experience he’s had is some street dance classes when, again he was like six, if you’ve got talent you’ve got it and karim is just as deserving as kelvin is , I would love either of them to win
