agree, 4 of the 5 most streamed songs on my spotify this year were from this album. the only song that wasn't from the album was "la belle de jour" by alceu valença
Masterpiece 💙 should’ve won Grammys The production and lyrics is a masterpiece I remember hearing this with headphones for the first time, i felt all chills all my body and i never felt that tickling sensation inside in my whole life. Its so early 70’s vibe and late 60’s She almost sounded like Karen Carpenter.
Theres a bonus song thats part of the Titanic Rising era which was released earlier this year titled "Titanic Risen" which uses the sound from Titanic Rising (song). Natalie Mering started makin music since she was 15 (2003), she dropped out of college to pursue music and started touring the underground music and played as a bassist and keyboard to bands. She started to release albums at 2011 as Weyes Blood (previously Wise Blood, Weyes Bluhd) Also i love the album cover which was shot underwater with practical sets in a pool i really like the feel of the production and the spacey underwater vibe connectin with the album title.
Her father is a long time musician, so she grew up listening to great music, and it shows! She is extremely talented, because usually the younger generations can cringe out when trying to be relatable, but she's all heart and depth. Love her so much.
I’m not sure if someone’s mentioned this but “Nearer to Thee” is a reprise of the melody in “A Lot’s Gonna Change” !! Also she did an acoustic session for some songs of the album and the opener is called “A Lot Has Changed” which used the tune of “A Lot’s Gonna Change” but it’s just an instrumental and she’s whistling, you should definitely check it out too as well as the epilogue track “Titanic Risen” 😊 my favorite album of the 2010’s decade!!!!
Her previous work is really good too. But this was her first album with her new record label. And you can tell that it really pays off with the increase in instrumentation and mastering quality. Weyes Blood is just getting started!
Coming back to this great reaction and wondering if you ever did her "And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow" album? Is it patreon exclusive? If not I really would love to see you react 💝
Pls react to Julia Holter! Her album Have You in My Wilderness might have influenced this album. And Beach House too, if you want more albums like this. And another album from 2019 that's like a twin to this album, Angel Olsen's All Mirrors. All are modern dream pop classics.
This new artist I’ve found recently is an incredible songwriter and I think you would appreciate it! Her names Ethel Cain and I’d love for you to react to her!
If you liked this album you should listen to the Rough Trade Sessions. Its a very small album with a few songs from this album but with a different mix. It is more raw, and the chosen songs I think is even better on that album!
HEY THANKS FOR WATCHING! If you want to pre-save my new song you can do here! 😘 distrokid.com/hyperfollow/luscent/criminal
Finally another TH-camr reacts to this masterpiece
Exactly!!! They’re so underrated this is what people should listen to not some “underground indie music” 🥲🥲🥲
this album is one (if it's not the one) of the best albums I've ever heard

Cool I'll have to check it out!! You can hear her musical experience through her songs definitely and I'm glad it's working out for her!!
Spacey underwater describes it so succinctly. I started listening to it in winter, it’s summer now and I can’t get enough of this album.
the lana pfp is iconic

I love all the theory you’re sharing!!
Pls react to Julia Holter! Her album Have You in My Wilderness might have influenced this album. And Beach House too, if you want more albums like this. And another album from 2019 that's like a twin to this album, Angel Olsen's All Mirrors. All are modern dream pop classics.

It is like a crime that you wouldnt react to Front Row Seat to Earth, simply a masterpiece
If you have that hi-fi level earphones you should to react to lushly arranged Animal Collective MMP and Fiona Apple Tidal
still waiting the react of her newest album "and in the darkness, hearts aglow" 🥺
FINALLY SOMEONE
can you please react to her previous album, Front Row Seat to Earth? I love it even more than this one.
I've always thought the song Mirror Forever would be a pretty good end credit song for a James Bond movie.
She actually writes her music all by herself. Please your ears and listen to her older albums.
Movies is a modern classic
yes this is my favorite album of all time
Natalie es la voz mas maravillosa de esta planeta¡¡¡ la amo¡¡¡
