    Yes! I don't know how many times I've helped people with "forcing" the direction of patterns!
    Nice one.

      @@TheRevitKid Another good one that I use, which may be good to make a video on, is decals, glass graphics, and imperfections (if you care about rendering within Revit, that is).

    Btw, the aligned pattern seems to only show if the In-Place Component is using the Generic Model Category. It does not work if using, for instance, the Floor category. Thank you, Autodesk. 😀

    So Revit *does* understand UVs, we just can't control them unless we use a very unintuitive (if clever and appreciated) workaround like this?

    • @TheRevitKid
      @TheRevitKid  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess so!? I mean it has to have some kind of UVs… we just can’t control them?

    • @waracana
      @waracana ปีที่แล้ว

      Revit has UV mapping, just not exposed to the user interface and not accessible through API, so not even with Dynamo.
      This technique is very appreciated, but for any bi-curved surface there's just no way to do any spherical or cylindrical mapping. It's just weird to have to go to Sketchup, add textures and map and then have to go through Formit and finally back to Revit just to have a circular booth show textures accurately.
      Thanks again for the video

    Hello, I am Indonesian...please.. show me, how to make a beam slope curve under the ramp floor?? I have tried several methods, one of which is making separate beam and floor models and entering the radius... but there is something strange, the cross-section of the beam is slightly twisted at the ends and the position of the beam is not right at the edge of the floor. thank you

  • @delaneybradley2803

    I'm having issues getting this to work - it will curve the pattern but it doesn't rotate it at all so that it maps along the sweep curve. Do you know any workarounds/methods to solve this?

    • @TheRevitKid
      @TheRevitKid  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure what you mean… it’s curving the pattern but not mapping along?

    • @delaneybradley2803
      @delaneybradley2803 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheRevitKid For whatever reason it started working in some places and not others but I was able to copy/paste the ones that did work to get around it. Prior to that I was having to manually rotate the pattern/material for it to map along the curve, like it worked but oriented it in the wrong direction. I'm still not sure what the problem is there but it's all good now, thanks for the video!

      @@TheRevitKid lol nice way of putting it.
      What is frustrating is that, working in the industry for so long, you see how a lot of the basics of techincal drawing, are not achievable in Revit in a simple or actually correct way. Btw good that someone is looking for possible solutions. Thanks for the time spent on it.
