Thanks for watching. CK's brand of honest country music has found great acceptance as Texas music. However, he was raised and lives in Slaughters, Kentucky. As a fellow Kentuckian, sometimes, I get wrongfully upset with Texans trying to claim him as theirs but, then, I remember the Kentucky Music Hall Of Fame is full of artists not born in Kentucky. I hear 200,000 artists make cd's each year and only 2000 sell more than 500 copies. There's a lot of good stuff in those 198,000 no one knows about.

He takes the time after (almost) every show to meet with every fan who stays.To his fans, he's one of the most generous artists I've ever seen. I've recorded CK 6 times. I wish I knew how to do better before. Since this show I've gotten even better and, now, would like to video him with a bunch of cameras.

Shawn Graham Thanks for watching. We made these fan videos 6 1/2 years ago. I'd love to make some more if the opportunity arises. Personally, I turned people onto his music by passing out homemade cd's and dvd's of his shows. I've badgered local radio stations and local music venue operators, taken friends to his shows all over Kentucky and recorded 6 or 7 of his shows to post, here, on TH-cam. I sincerely hope you get your wish of a Michigan show. Maybe you could talk to some of your favorite local music venue operators. Good luck!
Thanks for watching. I think the comments are generalities. Most folks listen to commercial radio and Chris's music, for a long time, has not fit on most commercial radio playlists outside of Texas. Over the years, his music has found success....just not with him singing his own songs. He has rabid fans all over the globe. I've had dialogue with them all over the planet. I'm one of them. Sounds like your one, too. I always hold out hope that he gains a wider appeal to music fans. Keep spreadin'.
I havent got to see CK live yet but Its great to have a good quality video to watch. As far as Im concerned some of his songs are so real the average candy store country fan doesnt listen close enough to identify the genius. The band sounds great too. Sadie, I'm glad you found your spot! I'm thrilled to have been able to make these videos and, then, someone enjoy them. I spend a lot of time in the forest. I consider myself an adventure hiker. I've spent many an hour walking along creeks to waterfalls. I've found my way around a lot of caves and watched a lot of sunsets from overlooks. My favorites, tho, are the hundreds of sandstone arches we have, here, in Kentucky. When I hike, I carry rope. Ha! Get outside! You'll be happier.

I hate modern country music. Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith.....YUK! Chris Knight, by all accounts, is a get what you hear and see kind of guy. Although he discredits most of his songs as character studies, I believe, there has to be some thread of life experience lurking in the shallow depths of, at least, some of these dark tales. Yeah. Chris Knight is great. I've been lucky that he comes relatively close to Mobile on a regular basis that I can catch him from time to time. Still, it's a 2+ hour drive to Hattiesburg and a 4+ to Birmingham. I wish he'd come through Mobile. At least we get good music through here. Saw Steve Earle, Robert E Keen, and Justin Townes Earle just last year . Something about Chris Knight though. I really appreciate your video. When I've seen him live it's been in dives so the sound quality sucks.

@kyolddude I started shooting him at Gerstle's in Louisville in August of '07. I also taped him in Millville (Hillbilly Daze), Lexington (Dame), Louisville(Vernon Club), and Corbin (Depot). I only shot them with a small camera. Parts of all those shows are on youtube. Now that I know how to video and edit, I wanted to shoot this one with 5 cameras and a still photog, but I know it wasn't reasonable to ask. However, the want ain't gone anywhere. @kyolddude I use to be a trainman for the C&O RR. I worked from Silver Grove, Ky. to Russell, Ky. from 1978-90. I know the Paramount is a beautiful facility which the locals are rightfully proud of. I have "El Cerrito" on one of my regularly played playlists, but I haven't found a lot of CR's stuff to be of much interest to me. I like killing songs and CR sings a lot of broken hearted cowboy love songs, kinda like Randy Rogers whom I like a little more (especially his earlier stuff).
Everybody talks shit about us Buckeyes (believe me, I hear it. I have lived all over the USA and currently in New England) Cincinnati, Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky has an ass load of soul and good folks. I seen him solo at Gerstle's in Louisville with about 100-125 people. Radio doesn't hardly play him around here so people don't know know much about him or his music. Maybe he found a couple new fans. I don't blame him for taking gigs near home, either. ....and, if it hurts you to watch these videos...don't do it to yourself!

@kyolddude I started shooting him at Gerstle's in Louisville in August of '07. I also taped him in Millville (Hillbilly Daze), Lexington (Dame), Louisville(Vernon Club), and Corbin (Depot). I only shot them with a small camera. Parts of all those shows are on youtube. Now that I know how to video and edit, I wanted to shoot this one with 5 cameras and a still photog, but I know it wasn't reasonable to ask. However, the want ain't gone anywhere. Thanks Paul, I was at The Dame[twice],Corbin and Whitesburg,so i probably bumped into you somewhere. A lot of people appreciate your work, I hope you keep it up because you guys are a youtube phenom-please come to eastern ky[morehead or ashland]-I've emailed Chris' agent,Ashland has a theater just like the Kentucky theater[Paramount]. i've seen prine and steve earle there and its a really nice venue. @kyolddude I use to be a trainman for the C&O RR. I worked from Silver Grove, Ky. to Russell, Ky. from 1978-90. I know the Paramount is a beautiful facility which the locals are rightfully proud of. I would love to video a show there. A Prine, Earle or Knight show anywhere, let alone a great facility like the Paramount, would be a thrill for our whole crew! Thanks again for your support.

I really liked Pat Green. Chris even opened for him at one time. However, he lost me with his "Lucky Ones" cd. Can you scream sellout?!?!?! I have "El Cerrito" on one of my regularly played playlists, but I haven't found a lot of CR's stuff to be of much interest to me. I like killing songs and CR sings a lot of broken hearted cowboy love songs, kinda like Randy Rogers whom I like a little more (especially his earlier stuff).
Everybody talks shit about us Buckeyes (believe me, I hear it. I have lived all over the USA and currently in New England) Cincinnati, Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky has an ass load of soul and good folks. Not to mention some of the best musicians in the country. You would never see this band free in Boston( 72miles south). Maybe up here in New Hampshire on a fluke. but we all look like Chris Knight(except for the beards and ponytails) anyway and we are all packing heat. Live Free or Die!! Rock On!

I've seen him 6 times and the crowd is usually about 200-300. I seen him solo at Gerstle's in Louisville with about 100-125 people. Radio doesn't hardly play him around here so people don't know know much about him or his music. Maybe he found a couple new fans. I don't blame him for taking gigs near home, either.

Neal Jenney Oh. As amateurs, sometimes I don't have a good shot to choose from when I do the editing. So, I pre plan for our mistakes. I love beautiful women and freaks. Before the show, we video as many as we see. I then put them in the videos when I need them. Thanks for watching!
