Thanks for taking me along Nic,I really enjoyed the trip and saw some great/ new scenery. I've now starting planning for 2023 but unfortunately it will only be for a week or so.I'm looking to hit those Italian border passes. All the best .Richard ( Bristol 500 cbx 2017 )...just put a peg in the bottom of my tank bag.
Over the last couple of weeks, since I found your channel, I have been watching your travels, It has been a joy watching your experiences and the beautiful landscapes.Well done to you. I'm now going to spend the next two weeks watching the Northern trip. All the best Chris.(lean the bike not the person)
thanks for the lovely trip. you done all the hard work while i had a few beers riding pillion . great scenery and great commentary. look forward to the next one.
Bye for now Nick! You are awesome! It's time now to watch the whole series again! I would seriously considering to delay the Northern trip due to cold conditions and expense. You will probably need to camp more. Unless you wife willing to increase your budget, what would take a miracle to happen! 😂 Anyway, it was a pleasure to get to know you a little, my family has much fun! Thank you!
Many thanks Lajos for all your help, a fantastic route and encouragement all the way through (and even before). All the best to you and your family Nick
Thank's Nick for a pleasure of watchig your big trip ( with my delay of almost a year). However it was very nice and honest presentation of the journey and bike. All the best!
Nick I have watched and enjoyed all of your 40 days, thank you. I admire you for having the courage to travel alone for such a time and distance, I can only dream....
Thanks for sharing your trip Nick, it really has been very enjoyable and has given me an idea to do a similar trip, maybe heading to Greece or even Turkey and back, you have helped me to make that Decision, just got to work out the timing and logistics of being away for around 8 weeks, thanks again Nick
An ambitious trip that worked out well and I for one enjoyed the ride! Thanks for sharing. PS. My theory is that they close large sections of the motorway network here in the UK for training purposes.......Cheers for now.
I started off casually watching a guy off on a trip around Europe. I have ended watching something that leaves me feeling very sad. It has been a pleasure to follow you, I haven't missed an episode. Within those 40 days a great many things have happened on this planet of ours, quite amazing really.
Hi Srikanth, many thanks. I'm not sure if you've seen my review 5000 miles into the trip th-cam.com/video/lg87fvffBgQ/w-d-xo.html but I intend doing another once I've put a few more on Nick
Thanks Nick. I have enjoyed your trip very much and am looking forward to your next one. Glad that you still love the CB500x and I enjoyed another tour of Wales two weeks ago on my 2019 CB500x. Tip of the day, I always carry "sealskin socks" when on tour, just in case of wet boots.
That was excellent - thoroughly enjoyed every episode. Very inspiring - i bought a bike for the first time in 15 years and will be venturing into europe once i've learned to ride it again!!n Ty Nick
Very much enjoyed the series, Romania was a surprise to me, always pictured it as gray communist awfulness, far from it as you showed us. The bears were amazing. After a 15 year hiatus, decided to pick up biking again, anxiously awaiting the arrival of the CB500X I ordered, seems I made a good choice. Thanks Nick.
Many thanks, and CB500X is a great bike. I wasn't sure what to expect with the more easterly countries and was pleasantly surprised by them all and can highly recommend travelling in that direction Nick
Thanks Nick. You have done a fantastic job of keeping me entertained through the southern hemisphere winter. Looking forward to the trip north. I would love to see a breakdown of your expenses, just for curiosity. Your personality, I think, was just starting to show through towards the end of your journey, and your voice is very easy to listen too. 👍👍👍
Many thanks for seeing it through and I'm glad you enjoyed it. All the best Sorry for delayed reply, didn't see this comment until a couple of minutes ago... 11 days late! Nick
Thanks Nick , iv,e watched the lot over the last week great viewing great trip nice weather and great edditing . I also love biking in europe in a pair and twice on my own .. and for me on my own sneaks it by a nose and for the same reasons you explained yourself in episode 31 or 32 , thouroly enjoyed the whole series... thanks .
Hi @GRUFF, you must be a glutton for punishment to watch them all in such a short period!!! But, many thanks for doing so! I think 2 sharing room costs would be a good compromise and not too difficult to change plans. Enjoy your next trip Nick
Thanks nick really enjoyed Your trip you have inspired me to get travelling on my bike which is also 500x I’ll miss watching you every week thanks again .
Excellent trip Nick. Really enjoyed being an armchair passenger. Looking forward to your northern trip, and hopefully revisiting some of the places I went to in the late 2000s. I too have just bought a new CB500X in the same colour as yours...lovely bike as you say. I’m also waiting to see if Honda introduce a better colour for their ADV350 so I can replace my Honda Forza 350 with one. That too is a great tourer.
Fantastic trip, Nick, each instalment of which I've eagerly awaited every Wednesday and Saturday morning as the perfect accompaniment to breakfast. I noted that despite 6 weeks of travel on the continent, it took you no time at all to get back into the swing of riding on the left and complaining about invisible roadworks. 😂 Look forward to the "Lessons Learned'" follow-up and, in due course, your subsequent journeys as shared with us. Until then, take care and ride safe.
Many thanks Len, thanks for being there all along, gotta love our roadworks. The "lessons learned" should be there very soon, and still planning next trip, will update ASAP Nick
Well done Nick it was a long way for a solo journey but you have had a lot of people following your every move. It will be interesting to see what adaptations you make for your next adventure. 🏍🏍
Hi David, not too many changes, the biggest (and costliest) has been replacing the Shad luggage rail with Outback Motortek pannier rack (with exhaust heat shield) and rear rack. But you know the self inflicted saga that caused that 😉. I'll provide a short update soon on the changes I have made. Nick
My best (and costliest) update has been fitting a Rally Raid level 1 rear shock with an uprated spring and remote preload adjustment. It’s made a great bike even better.
Welcome home. Glad to see you made it back safely!. if you would, please make a clip for us with an in depth review of the bike after this trip. Bits you liked and didn't like about it, also pressure points, aches, etc. Thinking about getting one myself. Looking forward to the next big adventure! welcome home
Many thanks. I'm not sure if you saw my review at 5000 miles, th-cam.com/video/lg87fvffBgQ/w-d-xo.html and was thinking of doing an update after a few more, so, watch this space... but may be a little while Nick
Well done Nick you sure have had an adventure! The CB500X sure has done itself proud, flexible, economical and looks comfortable given the miles you have sat on it without and add one to the seat! I’ve bought a similar model in Pearl green but have just about 600 miles on it! It is starting to wet my appetite to do longer trips (possibly next year) starting with around Ireland where I live! Just wondering would you now add rear rack / panniers to ease the packing and unpacking? Any other Addison’s or tips would be very welcome! Regards Jim P. S. I will sure miss the updates and look forward to any additional edits or reviews you add! Stay safe!
Many thanks for the comments, good luck with the CB500X and your trip. And yes, I have now changed the rear rails and added a rear rack. Hope to publish an update video soon Nick
Well guess this is goodbye, for now at least. It has been a very entertaining and interesting journey with you for many different reasons. Seeing the different vistas, watching you progress and learn your craft on the editing and skills on the bike as well as your learning curve as to the best way planning routes and stops. I waas always sure myself that your choice of motorcycle was one that could not be bettered for such a trip taking into consideration your inexperience but it has been a decision well founded and as expected the bike has met every challenge. Your relaxed presentation has been lovely to watch and a real change from some who's excited verbals can distract from the enjoyment. All in all a job well done but there's nothing like getting home. Regards again to your family without whos patience and support I expect this would not have happened. Good luck on your next adventure, I hope to be able to follow you in the future, ride safely Nick.
Many thanks for all your encouragement and participation along the way Ray, it has been much appreciated. Not quite sure what I'll find to waffle on about on the next trip, hopefully it will be more about the pleasure of being out and about and less about burnt panniers! Nick
Thanks Nick. It has been great travelling by proxy, now I’m inspired to arrange a European bike trip though it will be rather more modest an undertaking than yours. 👍
I'm new to your channel and a new motorbike rider and I binge watched this whole series and the south of England series and loved every episode! Consider me a new subscriber! Just one random question for you, what is the song used in your outro? Not sure why I like it so much. Now time to binge watch your Norway series. Thanks for uploading, its been quite educational for me being a new rider on the road.
Many thanks for your kind words and welcome aboard. The outro is from my editing software Cyberlink PowerDirector, it is called "Dramatic Melody". I hope you enjoy the Norway series, I am still uploading it on a weekly basis so you may have to wait if you binge too quickly 😊. Good luck with your own motorcycling experiences, ride safe and enjoy! Nick
Many thanks @pedrohex. I'm not sure if you saw my review 5000 miles into the trip th-cam.com/video/lg87fvffBgQ/w-d-xo.html which answers most things. The bike had about 600 miles / 1000 KM and a first service when I started the trip, absolutely no problems along the way, only maintenance was chain lubrication and occasional adjustment and tyre pressure checks with 3.2 litre / 100 Km average Nick
How good is it to return home having to filter through bumper to bumper traffic after 40 days of relatively good riding. Wish you well with the next trips planning. Are you going before winter sets in or waiting until next year? It's been a good adventure Nick.
Hi Richard, hope your trip goes well next year, I'm sure the CB500X will also enjoy it. Look after that peg! 😉

Fantastic trip. Thank you Nick for making the series for us. We really appreciate it!
Hi Ray, many thanks for travelling along, your comments have been much appreciated. Have a great festive period

@BikingTravels you too Nick. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Thanks again.

Hi Peter, good for you. Greece and Turkey have so much to offer I'm sure you'll have a great time, good luck carving out those 8 weeks
Nick

Hi Quentin, many thanks for "riding" along. Training? Yep, training us to be patient perhaps 😉

Hi @Googel+, thanks for keeping me company and yes, the world is changing at a great rate, but I hope to explore more of it soon
Nick
