Yah started fishing with the jigging rap because of you Tom. Thanks a lot. I always jig for walleye or drop shot. Very slow and not an aggressive bite. The jigging rap is a new game. Very aggressive and more pleasant. Thanks again
Thanks for the Knowledge always so insightful! Hey i have a filming Q if you have the time . Other than a Go Pro because that’s all i’ve used to date whats a Good main Camera? I see you always have a bigger style camera on a tripod.
Hello Tom, quick question, I’m setting up my first Walleye Ice rod. What would you suggest for braided line (lb, color) and leader set up (lb)? I will be using a Piscifun viper X reel.
I live 30 miles from Leech Lake, but I don't go there very often... everytime I go there, something ALWAYS goes horribly wrong lol. Between something breaking or losing something. 😅
Ha! I was just there about the same time you posted this - a month ago! First time on Leech and just at dark my motor died. A LONG way from shore, my guess is about a mile. My buddy put his headlamp on flash mode and after about 15 minutes of paddling we started seeing another flashing light on shore - AT HORSESHOE BAY LODGE !!! Three super guys came out and rescued us, towed us back to shore and then drove us all the way to the other side of the lake to my truck and trailer. It was a hellacious but ultimately wonderful time!
Orvis has the better customer service now if you ain't sponsered by Simms, all the homies switched to Orvis when their G3 guides leaked on purchase and they wanted them to pay shipping to Simms in Montana to fix their screw up. I also had same same experience with mine, I got lucky though because Bass Pro return policy so I just got my 800 bones back.
Dermal Sarcoma? Some type of dermis that affects them and they grow tumors. Never used to be like that, tho it's getting more and more common. Wonder if it's contaminated waters?
@@TomBoley I've seen enough videos of folks staring at a screen not even casting until they see the fish and cast right to it. It may not guarantee a bite but it sure does increase the chances, not to mention that you can see how the fish are reacting, allowing you to simply try a small swimbait or live bait. Like I said, I've seen enough videos that prove that oftentimes it is that easy. I'm not really knocking you as a content creator or fisherman, just acknowledge that FFS plays a gigantic role in what you're presenting.
@@TomBoleyI swear some of these comments are from people that don’t even fish…..like EVER! Keep rippin lips, I been watching your videos since the beginning and learned a lot from you. Keep on slayin!
@@TomBoleyIt kinda is, the only issue with FFS is if the fish ain't biting, which then you are actually using angler knowledge, otherwise its a "cheat code". Basically paying 5 grand for "wall hacks". I just don't personally care as catch n release and this isn't a tournament with money on the line. Gave my buddy the FFS his first time fishing, he out fished his old man who has 25 years experience fishing that lake lol.
The non-believer always wants to see a "miracle", instead of learning from what they just saw happen, right in front of them. That's the wrong way of looking at things.
I agree. I want to see you fish for walleyes out of a birch bark canoe, a tree limb rod, fish hook made from deer antler and I don’t know what you’ll use for primitive line. Odeon technology has no place in fishing. Oh, I guess that would include no TH-cam videos. Fool.
Hi Tom I have the utmost respect for your fishing knowledge which is incredibly awesome, but I’m loosing interest watching your videos with the amount of technology you use. I watch and pay attention to other boats on water and most do not have the amount of electronics such as you. Actually I believe most people don’t have the money to invest thousands of dollars to rig their boat to the level you do. I feel like I’m speaking for a lot of people. So with that being said, is it possible you could do a video or two by studying a topo map and go on the water with little to no electronics? Sincerely, Tom
We had some good bites on our short July fishing trip at Chippewa Flowage using almost the same Hyper Rattle lure and the most basic Hummingbird sonar I've ever seen (rental boat). Used a lot of paper maps and the GPS, and a lot of guessing - we don't know the lake that well yet.
Leech Lake isn’t the easiest unless you have good electronics. Side imaging is a must! As the water cools it gets easier! Caught some beautiful eyes pulling #5 rattle rap last week. 27” was my biggest Thanks Tom for your knowledge
Man, I'm really stretched for words. I can't believe you were the first one to comment on here. You must be a superior human. I guess all I can do is tell you how damn proud of you I am!

My favorite lake, too. My dad camped at Stoney for 40 years in a row every spring and I'm keeping the tradition alive on that gem of a lake.
Tom, thanks for the tips! I’m on Mille Lacs for a few days and they are stacking up on the north sand. Jigging raps knocking them out. So fun!
Leech is it's own planet, love it Tom!!
I grew up 20 miles from there. Really miss the fishing. Thanks for sharing Tom. Definitely gonna stay at Horseshoe Bay Lodge
Could you do a walk through on how you sort and store your tackle?
This the Season for putting A 10 point Whitetail 🦌 down and some Grouse hunting too ..... of course some bonus walleyes are good too 🎣
Beautiful golden eyes . Great video Tom👍
love watching your fall Leech Lake videos. What do you think is the best time frame for someone that wanted to hunt ducks and catch walleyes?
Horseshoe Bay! I've stayed there before, good pick!
Almost seasick watching that one lol. Prairie winds!
Great video Tom, you're the man!
Come to White Bear Lake or other pressured lake and show us how to catch them.
u make it look easy

Why no life vest when big motor is running.
I tried your black jig after watching video caught beautiful 23” my first try
Any hooks you will use a wireleader so jackfish or any other don't cut line
Thanks Tom. Great video.
I got married there. Caught a nice walleye off the dock before the grooms dinner(I had the walleye, a different one). It's a nice place.

@danielholtxxl4936 at least I'm not the only one that has issues on that lake, it's cursed I swear! 🤣
Depending on date I may be able to help test.
I do love coffee ....
Ok fall at Leech and no Shelby and the fur babies that sir is a sin and you should be grounded!!
A 175 hp on a tiller that’s insane lol😂
Yet to get a single bite off a hyper rattle after 1 year of fishing them on an off an it absolutely breaks my heart
How about a video on how to do it without imaging
@@dominickdetore8480 got a whole bunch of those videos on channel
What Simms fishing bibs do you wear?
Prodry

Did you fish Portage
Tom, what are the growths on some of the fish?
Idk ... See them all over the Midwest... Some lakes more than others

How skinny can the water be and still use the Hyper Rattle?
I've done this in 5 feet of water productively.
Size, weight,
Who makes the hyper rattle
Acme I believe
The best
Nice
I know the one lure now too. The one you can put right in front of the fish you find with the FFS.
If only it were that easy...

Man that mega live is trash compared to livescope
Yeah but I’d be willing to bet Tom would school your ass with it
👏🙏
I want to see a walleye fishing video without all the electronics on the boat. In a lake you don't fish say michigan.

*modern technology
Catch the wave, or be left behind. Learn how to use technology.
When i go out into the wild on a lake to fish, i am there to fish, not play video games😮
This is still entertaining though.

😂 why don’t you let the man film and fish how he chooses. 🤡
It’s just not as productive. You should take on an extra job to purchase this equipment If you love fishing, it’s worth every penny.
