Won't this slow down all traffic and mess up synchronized lights that help traffic flow?
PBOT already does not know how to synchronize lights lol. drivers get a green light to accelerate to the next intersection that is still a red light. Took me 30 minutes the other day to get 1.4 miles in inner eastside from 2nd and broadway to 12h and Hawthorne. But PBOT needs more taxes so they can make everything worse!

More incompetence from the city, this won't help anyone and just makes us burn more gas.
Wasted resources. We already have red lights and speed limit signs.
If they was some sort of consistency, like with the amount of time the lights change from one color to the next or say the amount of time a light stays green for certain directions. How only 2-3 cars can get through a green light and then have to wait for another green light that lasts 3 times longer makes NO sense.
Red lights to slow people down? I may have to check the drivers manual but as I remember it a red light means to stop.
Remember, this is Oregon..
Why is Portland so obsessed with slowing down already slow drivers? This will make Powell even more dangerous to drive in.

And change the light to red so they t-bone someone who now has a green. Terrible plan, people will get injured and die.

I have seen a couple of drivers run red lights in downtown Portland and one turning the wrong way on a one way street. I don’t think that this will work, when you don’t have enough policemen patrolling traffic.
I'm not seeing how this is going to change anything. Drivers speed up a long way before red lights and drive thru them. How are these red lights any different??? Are these cars going to get beamed up? Also, does this apply for bike and scooter riders?

Wow so now they will blow through a red smash into someone instead of speeding through a green light. Our genius local leaders at work to totally mess this whole thing up.
You can't enforce the rules by constantly changing the rules. One of the dumbest ideas yet.
I can't wait to get a ticket (driving speed limit) for being 20 feet away from a green light that instantly changes red with no yellow warning because of the person in the other lane. This is a money making scam and it will cause more rear end accidents and injuries, lawsuits, insurance costs going up... As many bad outcomes as your imagination can hold! 🌠

The more they change the more dangerous it gets look at pge on Powell. Cut down trees holding others up now people lost their homes Portland is losing tree coverage already. The roads were fine they need to up the speed and hold people j walking accountable not always the drivers.
Powell Blvd & 99W are the most Dangerous Intersections. The future is to Build Bridges to make it a Double Decker. Top of the Bridge will be Grade Separated. Below the Bridge will be At Grade Intersections. Traffic Signal will be Sideways Horizontal.
Powell does not cross 99w 😂
Make it a crime to discriminate someone for being homeless. Anything related to needing an address.
