That flyover was a walk in the park, could probably done it with their eyes closed. I was a crewchief for black hawk helicopters, these drama queens have no idea the tight spaces we used to fly in, landed, one wheel landing etc. Our military over-maintains those aircraft, their maintenance program is very demanding. As for the pilots, Military pilots get huge amount of training, way more than a civilian could ever get. Them fans got a good show/flyover wish i could have been there.
we have multiple low helicopter flyovers on a daily basis. mostly from a hot dog medivac pilot for a hospital a block away. he delibertly flys low, well under 1000 feet of the 5 story hospital. one thousand feet is 10 ten story buildings. he is nowhere near that as he rises above the five story hospital and starts a slow rise as he races over the neighborhood.
“I wonder if they saw the cable” GTFO of here. The pilots all viewed the stadium from inside the stadium several days in advance. There was a ton of safety observations ahead of time. Then they practiced several times. And they never would have executed the mission had there not been a wide safety margin, especially nowadays. This guy they interviewed is out of touch and should have known better. What a disgrace. He’s acting like they all just woke up that morning and decided to wing it.
I’ve had an Apache pulling security on us during a mission flying a lot lower than that. People need to stop being so damn triggered by fucking everything these days and grow a set.
That's not how near misses work.. in this case, the cable was significantly BELOW the path of flight and not a danger to the helicopters - the journalists and former FAA investigator are incorrect by saying they did/look to fly under the cable. It's just an illusion. However, it is right for anyone to raise the question - was it safe? It is also extremely correct that had they actually flown beneath the cable that this flyover would have been extremely dangerous. The only fact that is true is that they should have been at least 1,000 ft above the spotlights where in reality they were 50-100ft below - that is, in and of itself, potentially dangerous, no matter how skilled the pilots are, mistakes can happen and the rules exist for a reason. The same reason you do not point a firearm at anything you are not willing to shoot. We do not need another Sknyliv or Rammstein.
There’s always gotta be some people that take shit way too far if those pilots weren’t the best in the world there would be no way they would have got that assignment. So much exaggeration from some people and the media
I don't know how close they were to the cable, but as dangerous as it is to hit a cable, the aircraft have cutters made to snag cables preventing the aircraft from getting caught up.
My bro Roy, 57th dustoff medvac picked up over 1000 wounded in nam. Go Army aircorp. Best of breed. This was very professional presentation by Army. I loved it...
Well, if I were one of the pilots, I'd simply request that I not participate in flyovers anymore. It's performed as a courtesy (an expensive courtesy) by the military. It's not in their job description, anyway. Their task is to defend the nation, not serve as entertainment. A crash can occur from a flyover at 1,000 ft, also. The aircraft are flying directly over the stadium. A helicopter isn't Like a plane, that can attempt to glide in the event of engine failure. If the rotors stop turning, a helicopter drops out of the sky like a stone. They don't glide. The only way to eliminate the risk is to eliminate flyovers altogether.

Why can’t Phil just retire already. All he does is try to turn things into something they’re not. He will try to paint any and everything in a different light just so it will seem negative...go home and enjoy yourself don’t stay if you’re just going to be like Oscar the Grouch. Geeezzz
People are so stupid. They did not go under a cable. They show a picture looking past the cable at the helicoptors. Thier's another video on TH-cam that clearly shows the cable down low and the helicoptors way above it. I don't expect intelligence from the news cast, but that safety inspector needs to go ahead and retire.
Their highly trained professional's. Nothing happened. Get over it.
Those Army Helo pilots could fly circles around most civilian helo pilots with their eyes closed....safety issue? PLEASE....this is utterly ridiculous.
*deliberately flies
10 stories is a little over 100 feet.
They should have come to a slow hover inside of the stadium and then departed.
Even bald eagles would shake their heads at this.
“I wonder if they saw the cable”
GTFO of here.
Thats a once in a lifetime opportunity, and y'all complaining smh
I’ve had an Apache pulling security on us during a mission flying a lot lower than that. People need to stop being so damn triggered by fucking everything these days and grow a set.
the difference is liability and public safety.
They usually practice before the game. A few days before.
“I don’t know”
“You just sound kinda poor and jealous that they’re just cooler than you”
“Cope and seethe”
They absolutely did not go under that cable.
I understand the "cable" could have been an issue. But it was not, so I say just make sure they fly higher next time. Personally, I loved the flyover.
@@tibgaming8184 finally somepne with some sense who doesnt just shout out 'MERICA!
Trust me, this is nothing compared to some other things that we do on a regular basis.
This would have been epic! Coming from a Dallas Cowboys fan. I am totally jealous due to that Cowboys stadium is an in door stadium.
That was awesome! how dare you accuse them, they flew over it. Grab a tape measure or put the orange balls on the wire.
I LOVE IT. SLOW NEWS DAY Basement Internet complainers.
Let the trained personnel do what they are trained to do
Tell me people are getting soft without telling me people are getting soft.
Is the cable there, or is it not phuking there?
There’s always gotta be some people that take shit way too far if those pilots weren’t the best in the world there would be no way they would have got that assignment. So much exaggeration from some people and the media
How do you know they were "the best in the world" ?
I don't know how close they were to the cable, but as dangerous as it is to hit a cable, the aircraft have cutters made to snag cables preventing the aircraft from getting caught up.
This was an awesome flyover
Military pilots are trained for this kind of stuff
Also they did NOT go under the cable. The were above it
I was inside the rotors and i didnt see any cable. I was also the pilot and the camera man, no cable within my area of sight. Move on, enjoy life.
My bro Roy, 57th dustoff medvac picked up over 1000 wounded in nam. Go Army aircorp. Best of breed. This was very professional presentation by Army. I loved it...
I know that at least the apaches have "wire cutters" on them incase this happens, pretty cool tho
Autorotation
LMAO the NFL pays them a shit ton of money.
