Thanks Everyone! My goal this year with Flux Core welding is to be able to do Yard Art! Nothing super structural lol 👍😎👍 want to thank the Jason Smith channel for his email Support! Nice to have an expert on your side! Thanks to my Brothers for their welding knowledge and my friend Paul for his welding advice! I will get it! …. It’s on my bucket list 👍😎👍💯 Also had problems getting this video to fit the screen properly? The text would be outside the screen, etc., etc..? Please let me know if it came out out OK on your end?🤓 Thanks! -Kev 👍🥫👍
You'll like the welding stuff once you get going on it...if not thats ok You'll have a nice wood table.....thanks for sharing this video and have a great weekend sir
Nice work on the welding table Kev! I’ve found that experience is the best teacher, and that we learn from mistakes that we’ve made! Years ago I made a wood rack out of 1/2” rebar. Made the frame work and bent it around one of those big pines in the back yard, and used similar casters. All steel/welded, crude, but still works great today! Thanks for sharing!👍🏽
Awesome. I remember them Big Trees when you cut one down! I didn’t realize that was your yard. Cool 👍😎👍1/2” is some fairly stout rebar! Cool story. Thanks Matt 💯
Let me tell you what I've done with some welding tables. I've always been one to work the auctions more so in the past and recently. There was like four welding tables that I won the bid on. I went to pick him up and I'm glad I had forklifts to load them onto my trailer. They came from a State penitentiary and that was kind of interesting going into big gate knowing that I could not get out until they want to let me out. Any case they had made them into furniture building tables. Well I stripped a couple of them down put them back to work in a weld shop. Then two letters I put my backyard my house and cover them with treated lumber. 5 1/4 planking. And put it back washboard on it. And that was the cooking and serving tables. Well I never really used them that much but they sure look great sitting out there. And nobody was going to steal them. They were so extremely heavy. Frankly other than the union carpenter behind me I didn't have any days around for the most part I wanted to steal my stuff. But the tables you are very Stout.
That’s awesome! You are very dedicated 👍💯👍willing to go to prison for a welding table! 😝 They put computer stations in at our work … and in typical Rail Road fashion they bought stainless steel models that were made by a company out west that makes prison furniture! Trust me these things don’t even flinch when you hit hit them kick him whatever you wanna do to them…. They will hurt you lol
@@Kevscancave I bought a retired prison van one time. I didn't think anything about it it was sitting out in the prison farm and I took my younger kids with me at the time. I did not go into the wall part of it that time. They told me I was in my rights to have them there but if I came back for anything else I would advise me not to bring them with me. I guess I always thought that they had a soft spot for kids but according to them they had some prisoners in there because of some horrible things they've done to kids. The prisoners could just walk down the street and walk away from the prison. But they don't do that because it's much better for them there than anything else they would ever have again. There have been a couple of exceptions. Let me tell you this federal prison was no country club. Take me to Willie's just looking at from the outside while driving past it to go to the prison farm.
Well Dang Kev that turned out slick ,you got them 2x4s cut in there, looked like trim carpenter done it Heck yeah get that welder out & play with that it ,,if get help from Jason that's Awesome, that man can weld 👍 👍
Wow! That turned out beautiful! I like that you painted it (sprayed). You are not a slow Kev. Keith will be proud of you. What is the liquid you applied? It's on the yellow bottle.
I just love your collections! I’ve been thinking about a flux core welder myself but just can’t bring myself to pull the trigger. I was a millwright and a machinist in my previous life so I’ve got lots of experience welding. I just can’t bring myself to venture to far back to that yet. It was not a fun job. I’ll get there😆 nice job on the casters. I think you went the right way. Cheers!
Thank You Brian! I tried and gave up 6 years ago… but I’ve got a new found motivation it’s called tired of running to my Brothers for a quick weld! Besides that I have a yard art project for the landscaping! 👍😎👍
Kev, the actual quote is; "don't stick your fingers, anywhere you wouldn't stick your peepee!" BTW, don't stick your peepee there either! I have limited experience with flux core. I've burned thousands of pounds of rod, thousands of pounds of mig wire.. only about 10 pounds of flux core. Just never liked what it does. I know guys who absolutely love it, but most of them are running dual shield (flux core and gas) Table looks good! Use what you have and know how to use 👍😎
And dont be afraid to weld man you grow when out of your comfort zone thick to thin metal sit on thick and just tap it to thin metal so if doing circles slow down on thick side speed up on thin side or just tack weld it do yourself a favor and pick up a tank of gas and jist mig welds are so much nicer

Flux core is a bit dirty compared to mig, but it works just fine. You might want to pick up a can of anti-splatter before you strike your first arc.
