"When it comes time to speak about my Father, to see you guys come out and show him love, and the respect that I have felt from so many people all over the country but especially here in my home in Los Angeles, and in New York City where my Father was from, it's hard to explain but it brings tears to my eyes every single time. And to see this and to see him be accepted and honoured in this way in front of his peers and to have some of the people he shared his life with here, to thank you for helping this to become possible and to help walk by and see his name and hopefully brings a smile to your face."

    FREDDIE PRINZE HONOURED
Nearly 28 years after his death, comic-actor Freddie Prinze has been awarded a star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Prinze was one of Hollywood's fastest-rising stars in the mid-'70s, thanks to success on the stand-up comedy stage and a hit TV series, 'Chico and the Man.'
Prinze died in January 1977 from complications of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was just 22.
In attendance were Prinze's son, the actor Freddie Prinze Jr.,('Scooby Doo,' 'I Know What You Did last Summer') as well as Prinze's Sr.'s 'Chico' co-star Della Reese.
Also there was comic-actor George Lopez, who served as one of the star's sponsors. Lopez, star of 'The George Lopez Show,' said his own hit series wouldn't be on the air today if not for Hispanic sitcom pioneers Prinze and Desi Arnaz.
