- I have to admit I wasn't much into F1 before watching Drive to Survive. But seeing what goes on behind the scenes and how technical it is, made me a fan of the sport. And with fascination for the sport comes the uncontrollable need to try it myself. My goal is to race in an F4 car on Red Bull Ring in Austria and set a good time with my brother Arno. This is why we met up with F4 prodigy Arvid Lindblad to teach us the basics first: Karting. Enjoy the video!

Last year I had cancer and through the tough months of treatment and recovery every time I got a notification of a new video it put a huge smile on my face and made that day just a little less harder giving me hope that a joyful life outside of treatment was possible :)

Great video Rob! There are some UK TH-camrs who participate in a 24h kart race on this same track (or at least, it looks familiair!) Maybe this could be something cool for you, Arno and some (youtuber) friends to participate in as well at some point. It seems a struggle sometimes, but I'm sure it'll be a blast for you and the audience

Hey Rob, maybe try to contact Squeezie (french youtuber but I'm sure you know that). He organize every year a race called GP Explorer using F4 with content creators. You could have you team with Arno !
Arvid seems so much more mature than a 16 years old, articulate, concise and really quite insightful, great personality!
For those interested: There is one more step between F4 and F3, which is Formula Regional. Before F2-4 were established around 10 years ago, there were a lot of championships without a clear ladder like there is now. If you've heard Alonso talk about GP2 it's basically what F2 is now. Some engine manufacturers like Renault and Ford had different formula championships. Renault had Formula Renault 1.6, 2.0 and 3.5, which is about equivalent to F4, F3 and F2 nowadays respectively

At the end of the video I remembered Arvid is 16. At 16 I was nowhere near as mature as him. He was a very good teacher and kept it professional. That kid will go far.
I raced karts as a kid. Never did anything more than like the very bottom end where it was just dads and their kids out having fun not taking it seriously. Honestly it was huge in teaching me how to drive a normal car. However it also implanted into my brain the need to be out front of everyone. So now I can drive very well but I always speed to be out front.

OMG 😮 I think this video is soooo cool. It is my biggest dream to become a Formula racing driver and I am currently working really hard on it. But unfortunately I don’t have all of the resources for this and no help nearby available 😢 I think it is really inspiring to see this video and I hope one day I can drive on tracks and live my dream

Canceling the F4 test means that you now have 3 months to memorize the track layout on the simulator at home. Get a cheap PlayStation and drive the Redbull Ring every day , the real thing will feel a lot more familiar. Good luck, enjoyed all the episodes.
