You see; Solskjaer is humble, or he does not speak negatively in the media, but isn't he used to England up-to-date situation and oblivious to Jamaica's joke.
If he does come anyway i belive with all my heart he will get a proper tune out of Bailey just like he did with Greenwood. I am not confident that Solskjaer will work just because of the joke that JFF is but if the can be an overhaul of Jamaica's football for the better then Solskjaer will strive.
For the maverick to say that Solskjaer is no good manager is simply fallacious. Sure he ain't better than Xavi Spelletti, Allegri, Howe, but he is better than Jesse Marsch even if just slightly, he is better than Berhalter, he is better than Zidane? ( say what you might but Zidane is the world's most overrated manager ever.)
I think the JFF should target other top coaches without jobs like Nuno Esporito Santos or Julian Lopategui (where if i am not mistaken, knows good amount of english inferred from his time at Wolves. Solskjaer is not a bad choice though Mr. Maverick.

I dont think we have the caliber of players that can qualify us for WC. They do not have the fitness level like a Mexico, Argentina, Spain, or any of the running teams. We do not hold on to the ball for long enough and cannot successfully transition it from Defense to MF to attack without going over the top to an Antonio. We continue to lack a standout 6, 9, 10. Our playing is too individualistic which is why we see LB as a star as opposed to an effective team. Another thing that peeves me is that it takes our players too long to receive and pass the ball and its like they are only looking for the pass after they receive it. Our passing are almost always long range instead of shorter snappy one while we keep moving. I am no coach but how we play doesn''t inspire me or give me confidence. Can someone who reads this tell me where i'm wrong.

    • @nurseman1us
      @nurseman1us 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

U definitely no coach, you are comparing undeveloped talent of a third world country to that of a Spain or Argentina, you're crazy, those countries spend millions to develop their players, Jamaica doesn't have the resources to do that, so we basically depend on talent. Long range passing is what the coach teaches so that's what you are going to see. Trying to answer all your issues but that would take all day, we just have to work with what we have.

Jamaica will never learn. Many years ago, the JFF was trying to court the Swede Sven-Göran Eriksson. One of his terms was that he coach the team while still residing in his country. Heimir Hallgrímsson is from Iceland .He immediately did not like the culture. Within months, he returned to his country and only returned to Jamaica for match preparations. Now we have Ole Gunnar Solskjær from Norway. These three are from countries with cultures and environment far removed from Jamaica's culture and environment. The challenges Ole will have selecting a new team while adjusting to our culture and environment will be challenging-as Hallgrimsson saw and Sven Goren Erikson sensed early. Don't just look at experience alone, look at compatibility and ability to adjust.

That's nothing new to coaches. They are used to it. Many coaches/managers move from one country and culture to another in the midst of seasons and tournaments all the time and end up thriving pretty well and more than expected.
The task at hand is no doubt exceptionally difficult but not impossible. It can be done. We are letting the difficulty of the success to block our vision of a victorious outcome. All battles are first won or lost in the mind.
Difficult? Yes, but it can be done.

Jamaica needs to have a 16 franchises (no club regulations, just the MLS, NBA, NFL, etc.), one club from each of these parishes, Westmoreland, Hanover, St. James, St. Elizabeth, Trelawny, St. Ann, Manchester, St. Mary, St. Andrew, Clarendon. Then two clubs from St. Cathrine (one from Spanish town and one from Portmore). One from, East Kingston and one from west Kington. Then, each club should have a under 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 teams and develop those talents for the same senior teams in those clubs. The same clubs should have the same female version. In addition, you must have a national B team that will play friendly games with the club, other teams in the country and other countries. Then from all of this, you will choose the players to represent the national team (under 17, 20, 23 and national team). Last but not least, the standard of the game will be at a very high level where players will be able to earn a good living wage from soccer in Jamaica. I have a lot more ideas that I can share with you as to what Jamaica's football should look like. The potential is there but it needs strong and innovative leadership in certain positions.

I think you got this wrong lol. First off, Ole got 2nd in the EPL with Man United in 2021, so you can't say he's not a good coach just because it ended badly. Second, learning about the players and teams is a manager's job. Every manager would have to do that because it's not like the Caribbean has any good coaches anyway, certainly none with a better resume than Ole.
Third, he doesn't have to learn the culture just because he's the manager. Bale had a great career at Madrid and he didn't even speak Spanish or got close with anyone in the team, so it doesn’t matter.
Portugal didn’t win their first trophy until 2016, and just to point out the obvious, Jamaica’s national team is sh!t, nowhere near that level. England hasn’t won a trophy for almost 60 years despite having a super team. International football is different because players often don’t take it as seriously. Not just Bailey, but other players from other countries don't play like they do for their clubs. Chemistry takes time because they only meet a few times throughout the year.
Every manager has to deal with attitudes, egos, etc. Man United's owners (Glazers) are very similar to the JFF-they're terrible at their jobs. It’s a privilege to have Ole on this team when you check his resume. Give the man some time and support.
Ole is at the wheel! lol, can't believe I just said that.

I agreed with this analysis 🧐 However we just need a coach with a system and strategy. We don’t have time to build player but we can obtain a coach that is tried test and prove.n. Then ding the player to match the system

Maverick: My shortlist outside of an Argentine coach are Ole, Jeffery Maxwell and Simoes.
Simoes must be considered because he knows the culture and can draw from his failed attempt and his previous success. Jeffery Maxwell being a student of the game and understand the Jamaican philosophy must also be high on the list. Ole, because of the high level of playing and coaching should be good contender for the position.

Bob Bradley would have been the ideal choice. He knows CONCACAF. He is somewhat familiar with Jamaica Footballers....He knows how to deal with professional players....
    He is a no-nonsense coach!

Is coming like we frighten fi white people smh If he was that good why is he not mentioned as potential for the England job since Gareth Southgate resignation ? Coming to Jamaica is easy money and no pressure because the team is expected to lose only to resign when a better job comes along

A LESSON IN FUTILITY - If the Dutch coach ends up in Jamaica, his appointment could become the biggest scandal in CONCACAF history. If you think Jack Warners demise is big, wait for it.
    1. Mostly, he will be called Olé because not too many of our football fans can say his last name. Most will simply settle and be satisfied to say...Olé. Come to think of it watch that "é".
    2. If saying his last name is one thing, spelling it will be another, which will require vloggers, bloggers and news reporters to revisit their keyboard. Few have ever heard of dipthong. 3. Who is it in Jamaica's football can address Olé? 4. Olé is not an English coach. He is Dutch (from The Netherlands, interchangeably referred to and accepted as Holland, not "the" Netherlands or Netherlands). Many fans will begin to learn about so-called "total football" which Brazil played long before The Netherlands and the "Cruyff Turn", something the "Black Pearl" Pelé did routinely like a ballerina doing a fouette.
In appointing Olé, Jamaica would finally have exorcised the dream of Brazilian football as our confused philosophy continues.

JFF must ensure the accomodation ( learning) curve is as short as possible. This will increse the likelihood of success exponentially.
A former Reggae Boy who checks the knowledge box woukd be ideal. So too a Simoes would keep the curve short.

Oral hear the problem....we Jamaicans always place we hat high. We had a former english player with jamaican descent I believe, and we pressure the man to leave because him style did boring. But his results were decent for our ranking. Just like Heimwhatever him name. Losing at the Copa cup should not have been a deterrent because all a them country bigger in size and status. Players like Leon Bailey need to get over them self. Our one golden journey to the finals had key players like Leon Burton and paul hall who paid their own fairs to get here. Jamaica cannot afford prima Donna's. Things will never be perfect but we work with it to improve it. As we say we likkle but wah....cool nah maverick. Bless up!!!

I agree that this is the easiest path we will ever have to the world cup. However, most CONCACAF teams are vastly improved and Jamaica really has not. Panama, Guatemala, Costa Rica, T&T, Grenada, all vastly improved from the last time out. Qualifying for the WC will not be easy. JFF needs Thierry Henry.
