This 1938 Zundapp KS500 is powered by a 498cc opposed twin paired with a four-speed transmission and is finished in black with silver accents and gold stripes. Features include a pressed-steel frame, a driveshaft, a solo saddle, a passenger pillion, a girder fork, interchangeable 19″ wire-spoke wheels, drum brakes, Amal pre-Monobloc carburetors, and chrome fishtail mufflers.
Braking is handled by drums at both ends. Instrumentation consists of a 160-km/h speedometer inset atop the headlight bucket and a five-digit odometer.
The 498cc opposed twin was factory rated at 25 horsepower and is equipped with a pair of Amal 75/422 carburetors. Power is sent to the rear wheel through a single-disc wet clutch, a hand-shifted four-speed gearbox, and a driveshaft.
