Paul, completely understood, I definitely broke many of my own rules as well. Im pretty glad that I did in this case. Any chance of showing us the Britannia in Gold when you get it? I have yet to see one.
Hi Silverfish VT, nice set of coins! i know you focus your vids on silver.. and now gold too :P, but what are your thoughts about preppers? i mean, we know that silver is a way to financial security, but what do you think people should have saved in foods or other stuff before starting saving in silver? right now with a possible war getting out of hand, you think it should be a priority to keep buying silver or extra food and other stuff? thanks.
Outstandingly beautiful coins, great play on the collectible side, and I am VERY EXCITED that you are continuing to diversify into Gold! Great stuff! Thanks for sharing these with everyone. Fantastic!
thats a beautiful coin. i am soo wowwed. actually, for some reasons, the apmex exclusive high relief gold lunar didnt sell well. and now apmex offering huge discount like this, i smell something wrong. i got a feeling that gold may come down in price (who knows maybe due to impending war with syria), what do you think?
nice stuff man. I am glad you are finally adding some substantial gold into your stack. Although we all agree that silver is the better buy it is better to have diversity.
I really think that you are right here, no question. Even if these stay quiet, Im perfectly fine with that, they are just too gorgeous. There are a lot of beautiful, well kept secrets in the world, lol.
Incredible video. I thought that silver "fever" was bad, but now that gold/fractional gold is my focus, I am burning for more gold. Having the whole series was a smart move. Bravo sir.
I think they are amazing, and the with reasonable premiums. I have already made my purchases for the month or I would order as well. Thanks for sharing.
I still think that silver is a better value, and will until the GSR gets to about 40-1. I have been dabbling in Gold a little, and setting up the series that I intend to collect, the 1/10th ounce lunars, as well as the high relief series. I still want to buy a little over 2000 more ounces of silver, but it sure does feel good to have a little gold.
Lol, comment of the day! These came down in price nicely at the perfect time. My horses buy fell through, so this was the direction that I went instead.
I want it so bad right now. I only have my junk silver with me, and i'm REALLY REALLY contemplating on getting rid of my junk silver to help me buy the Dragon Proof high relief. I really want one. And i have a half roll of eagles and a semi full roll of philharmonics that I'd so get rid of just for this gold 1 oz coin. What do u think ?
So these gold coins you got are 1 oz coins with PR70 rating... and maybe extra $200 in premium. Most likely going to be a good flip for dollars... When it comes time to sell, do you sell to a dealer like ArgentAgent or back to Apmex?
I've asked around but no one seems to want to respond. Do fellow stackers feel that too many people are getting caught up in the collector side of things and are losing sight of the real reason for accumulating the metals? I have noticed on this page alone that so much of the comments are about which animal coin they want to see or haven't got yet. It almost sounds like playground sticker/card collection talk 'got it, got it, got it, need it'. Does anyone agree?
Nope. And here is why. Most of us have a core stack, Eagles, Maples, Generics, etc. At a certain point, you see how certain coins perform, regardless of spot price, and you see opportunity. Would I recommend that you buy something like this for your first coin? NO. Understand, I can already sell the Dragon alone from this set for 3600 dollars. A 100% profit in 8 months, which I could then use to buy a lot of silver, essentially for free.
spinningrim I agree to agree but as long as your buys assets that won’t devalue instead of example buying a Xbox or something that will decrease in value over time your on the right track
Price here won't matter I can get either one of these two options. Either I get a roll of 2014 1 oz silver horses, or i get the 1 ounce proof high relief Dragon. I can choose one. I will end up missing out on one or the other.
Understood, some will be indifferent to be sure. I did the math, I could have had another 1/2 ounce maple leaf, if I went that route. IF the shtf, I will have other metals to use, if it comes to that.
Gold, Silver, Those coins are made of Unobtainium, in my world. I,m glad you can do it. As for myself I like silver eagles, coins I can trade. Or I think will be easier to trade for real groceries. Thanks for the vidio.
Nice find! I recently added a gold piece my stack. My friends at school wonder how I can be so exited over a little gold coin but they don't understand. They probably couldn't even afford a silver maple leaf. Anyway awesome video, enjoyed it.
Indeed. After my internal struggles and a consultation with AA47 I've made the decision. Although you'll likely have to wait 3-5 weeks for the unboxing before knowing the final outcome!
Yeah, the two coin set is the best value, but they will still be able to buy it in PR-70, as there are 5 of those left, or 8 in the raw. I just personally liked the fact that the gorgeous silver piece was basically a throw in.
I had to look multiple times, to make sure that it wasnt a mistake. I had the same reaction, thats why I jokingly referred to the gorgeous, perfect silver coin as a throw in.
Its the same coin. In fact, they are putting the two coin sets together with the singles. Im not sure why they are describing the single as "ultra", and the two coin set as "just" high relief, but they are the same coin.
Very nice coins! I ordered and received the Reverse Proof Buffalo already, it is a BEAUTIFUL coin as well, i'm very happy with it. My first gold buffalo also!
Its by far, my favorite piece of modern bullion that I have ever laid hands on, just stunning. I havent seen a proof buffalo in person yet, but Im sure thats a real beauty as well.
Well, I am very biased, but I like the lunar year of the horse gold design, and will be getting the 1/10th ounce. You could get that, or the proof in that size, or spend a touch more and get the 1/4th ounce. But, again, Im biased because I love the design.
Nice going SilverFish.. Very Impressive... I would like to understand the deivation from your normal stacking, but I love the coins... I only buy gold once a year.. usually in the 1/2oz or 1 oz per year... The coins are quite beautiful though...A nice add to a cool stack!! Congrats on the pickup!
No, not really. I have always had the intent, of buying silver and gold (to a lesser extent) that had potential to appreciate in price, beyond the spot price. Do the premiums hurt? Sure, but only if you can not get them back when you sell. Most of my gold, will in fact be lower premium government bullion, but I also wanted to have some signature pieces, and this just made sense to me, given my love of Australian bullion.
Still available! silverfish, how much did you buy this high relief proof set for? I'm very surprised to see it still on APMEX for $1800 for last year's snake set. It just doesn't make sense that this year's horse set is already out, while the snake is still in stock considering very low mintage.
Theres no doubt, that the dragon and horse are more popular. Those 17 sets could last a little while, especially now that people cant buy the horse to go with it. When they are gone though, it will be hard to get any of these coins. Should be interesting.
I really dont know what to say. Im not even sure that I did these coins the justice that they deserve, but all I can say is wow. I almost considered doing my Marcel Marceau impression and letting the coins speak for themselves, as my vocabulary is too limited to accurately describe them.
I look for that kinda stuff all the time, high-relief & low-mintage & rarity, well done brotha i love it absolutely love it, man what i would give to afford that right now! Excellent video!
ArgentAgent has a lot of contacts overseas. This is certainly something that I wouldnt put up on Ebay. I have a feeling that in a couple of years, he will be fielding phone calls, asking him if he can track some down. That would be one avenue of selling.
Their may not be enough of these to attract the masses but man i bet the serious collectors will be happy to pay through the nose in a few short years, wise choice IMHO.
the dragon was a great buy, the regular high relief proof dragons are at the same price as the ms70s on apmex right now. mind as well get the ms70. I'm missing out on another deal :[ I'm pretty sad again LOL
I wanted a "WOW" piece, if that makes sense. I feel like my Perth Kilo Silver coins, are the cornerstone of my silver stack, and the majority of my gold, will be low premium Maple Leafs, Krugs, and Eagles. When these went on sale, I thought about the potential, and to use a baseball analogy, I swung from my heels on this one.
Great find SVT. Us Aussies can still get them from the Perth mint at a out the door price of AUD$2625. It would work out cheaper for us to buy from Apmex and pay the tax and postage.
its a good buy i wish i lived in the us so i could get things like this. im just in shock you came outta nowhere with i think 2oz gold? after you talked about the little gold peices :-).
Beauties! Thanks for the video and purchase!
APMEX nice
APMEX p
Great video!
Thank you tpntch! It certainly feels like a great series to build my stack around.
They are even better than I thought they would be, and I had high expectations
Paul, completely understood, I definitely broke many of my own rules as well. Im pretty glad that I did in this case. Any chance of showing us the Britannia in Gold when you get it? I have yet to see one.
Hi Silverfish VT, nice set of coins! i know you focus your vids on silver.. and now gold too :P, but what are your thoughts about preppers? i mean, we know that silver is a way to financial security, but what do you think people should have saved in foods or other stuff before starting saving in silver? right now with a possible war getting out of hand, you think it should be a priority to keep buying silver or extra food and other stuff? thanks.
This made it impossible to pass up. Its a neat feeling to know, that so few people will be able to collect this set in PR-70.
As the inventory comes down, its typical to raise the price back up. The dragon still has 27 available, and its the same price that it has been.
Gorgeous coins! Did they not make a high relief 2012 silver dragon? I'm going to Apmex now to see if there's any left on sale!
Thank you Greg, Perth Mint did it again, these are just gorgeous! I dont even know if I did them justice.
WOW! Those are drool worthy pieces, fantastic job SFVT! Excellent additions to the stack
Yeah, these are really neat. My personal silver to gold ratio when all is said and done, will probably be around 60-1 or so.
Outstandingly beautiful coins, great play on the collectible side, and I am VERY EXCITED that you are continuing to diversify into Gold! Great stuff! Thanks for sharing these with everyone. Fantastic!
Nice purchase. I think you will always look back and be pleased that you bought this.
Wow your lucky! There beautiful thanks for showing us! 🐱😍🐺
Nice pick ups womble stacker
Subbed
Good luck with your channel and stacking
not your usual unboxing. I'm so happy that you joined the GOLD club :D Great numismatic play silverfish. This is awesome.
thats a beautiful coin. i am soo wowwed. actually, for some reasons, the apmex exclusive high relief gold lunar didnt sell well. and now apmex offering huge discount like this, i smell something wrong. i got a feeling that gold may come down in price (who knows maybe due to impending war with syria), what do you think?

Awesome pick ups. And perfect 70's at that. Well done!
Lol, yeah, I was up all night, couldnt wait to open this up. Felt like a kid at Christmas.
Very Nice start to your 1oz gold collection. Those are very beautiful. Congrats VT !! :-)
Incredible video. I thought that silver "fever" was bad, but now that gold/fractional gold is my focus, I am burning for more gold. Having the whole series was a smart move. Bravo sir.

No, not even close. That why I was so psyched. You could buy this now in PR-70 for about 3600
You got yourself a "WOW SET" very impressive! Thanks for sharing!
Lol, comment of the day! These came down in price nicely at the perfect time. My horses buy fell through, so this was the direction that I went instead.
Those high relief coins are hot! I was looking on getting the silver high relief coins! Great pickup man
Absolutely. Yeah, my wallet put up a pretty good fight, but I was able to wrestle it down.
wow, amazing buys, are you still going to get that reverse proof buffalo?
keep stacking
That dragon is freakin awesome!!
NAC chumlee
Yes, I still believe VERY strongly that silver is a better buy, but its a good idea, to add a little bit of gold as well. Agreed 100%
I love these coins you picked up.. breathtaking, and great investment if you ask me. Congrats!
beautiful. I just picked up the 2015 Goat set. Videos cannot do these justice. They're so amazing to hold.
Those are gorgeous, I wonder why they aren't commanding a bigger premium. I will keep my eye on the silver ones :)
The dragon was issued by the Perth Mint at almost $3,000. Great purchases Silverfish! Thanks for sharing
THank you Dale, no doubt, these are special.
THank you Adam, they are certainly a special coin.
sounds like you did your homework, man! Congratulations! Those are awesome looking coins!
Wow, that's fantastic!!! What a great buy!
man, your orders are getting classier! Nice pick up.
I would assume that this is just a form of inventory clearance. Of course, thats fine by me, lol. The sale ends tomorrow night apparently.
So these gold coins you got are 1 oz coins with PR70 rating... and maybe extra $200 in premium. Most likely going to be a good flip for dollars... When it comes time to sell, do you sell to a dealer like ArgentAgent or back to Apmex?

spinningrim i was thinking the same thing. Seems like most start stacking for silver and then get sucked into collecting.
spinningrim I agree to agree but as long as your buys assets that won’t devalue instead of example buying a Xbox or something that will decrease in value over time your on the right track
Mate if someone wants to collect they will there more to gold and silver then stacking and investing bro
Yeah, had to get both. I had high expectations, these coins exceeded them.
Price here won't matter I can get either one of these two options. Either I get a roll of 2014 1 oz silver horses, or i get the 1 ounce proof high relief Dragon. I can choose one. I will end up missing out on one or the other.
WOW!! Gorgeous coins!! Fantastic job!!
Just a thought wouldn't you want them to become very popular so the price will rise dramatically?
Understood, some will be indifferent to be sure. I did the math, I could have had another 1/2 ounce maple leaf, if I went that route. IF the shtf, I will have other metals to use, if it comes to that.
Very nice, he is going to love it!
You nailed it, its a great little place. I know Jericho very well. Thanks for watching!
THey are special, no doubt. Just beautiful.
Gold, Silver, Those coins are made of Unobtainium, in my world. I,m glad you can do it. As for myself I like silver eagles, coins I can trade. Or I think will be easier to trade for real groceries. Thanks for the vidio.
jackofmaine Silver is silver! Closest to spot wins!
Where is Unobtainium on the Periodic Table; what is the halflife?
Awesome buys. Beautiful gold.
Nice find! I recently added a gold piece my stack. My friends at school wonder how I can be so exited over a little gold coin but they don't understand. They probably couldn't even afford a silver maple leaf. Anyway awesome video, enjoyed it.

APMEX still has these sets. You can get just the gold coin on Ebay for $2,400...I guess their hands got weak LOL
No, I was saving up for the Lunar horses, but it fell through.
what have you done with all of these since?, we miss Don SVT
Very nice coins! I ordered and received the Reverse Proof Buffalo already, it is a BEAUTIFUL coin as well, i'm very happy with it. My first gold buffalo also!
whoa baby! Those are quite special, serious buys into future numi value! question of the day, where you gonna store em?
Congratulations! Beautiful coins, and a big addition to your gold stack!
Its by far, my favorite piece of modern bullion that I have ever laid hands on, just stunning. I havent seen a proof buffalo in person yet, but Im sure thats a real beauty as well.
It's not bullion.
Very nice man. your on a whole different level these days badass
Do all apmex coins come with the plastic cover? and have you seen the Aztec Calendar kilo they have?
I need to get over the state of euphoria that Im in now, lol, to look at it objectively.
Well, I am very biased, but I like the lunar year of the horse gold design, and will be getting the 1/10th ounce. You could get that, or the proof in that size, or spend a touch more and get the 1/4th ounce. But, again, Im biased because I love the design.

I want to use my "horse" money on a better bullion gold coin or bar. Can you suggest something in the $200-300 range.
Check out the Ebay store, cheaper shipping, and a TON of Ebay bucks, might help soften the price increase. There are only 4 left
Still available! silverfish, how much did you buy this high relief proof set for? I'm very surprised to see it still on APMEX for $1800 for last year's snake set. It just doesn't make sense that this year's horse set is already out, while the snake is still in stock considering very low mintage.

Once I made the commitment to this set, it seemed natural to get the highest grade.
I really dont know what to say. Im not even sure that I did these coins the justice that they deserve, but all I can say is wow. I almost considered doing my Marcel Marceau impression and letting the coins speak for themselves, as my vocabulary is too limited to accurately describe them.

Kudos! They look amazing!
How was the price for S&H ?....last time I bought from them was 3 yrs ago.
Lol, love the queen jokes.

Really beautiful coins. Did you see the reverse proof buffalo vid I put up? It's def a winner.
Thank you!
Great stuff. Certified coins add value to the stack. I have yet to get a high relief coin but will in the near future.
Wow love them! Congrats!
Great find SVT. Us Aussies can still get them from the Perth mint at a out the door price of AUD$2625. It would work out cheaper for us to buy from Apmex and pay the tax and postage.
hello, I'm about too order 70 oz of silver. I'm going with 2 25 oz apex bars and 20 ounces of silver eagles. Do you think that's a good buy?
Thank you EQ! I appreciate it my friend!
Lol, its hard this time of year, with all of these killer designs coming out, thats for certain.
its a good buy i wish i lived in the us so i could get things like this. im just in shock you came outta nowhere with i think 2oz gold? after you talked about the little gold peices :-).
