    I have an ADF and he is 10 years old. I am being to believe he is immortal. I don't feed him like this. I do feed him aquatic pellets (cut down so he/she can eat easily) and also blood worms. He/she loves the blood worms, but they are not as nutritious as the pellets. I use spring water because of its mineral content (essential he swims in his vitamins). He is a timid eater, but I am patient and use a toothpick to 'bop' pellets and blood worms on the surface of the water. I keep the water fairly low as they don't like to pop up too much. I feed him every other day and stop when he shows no interest in continued feeding. Hope this helps!

    thanks for the great vids...super helpful! I've had my 4 ADF's for about 2 weeks now. They seem super happy and, as of this evening, are happily mating!!! AAHHHH! I never thought of offspring. Will I soon have a gazillion tadpoles floating around? And, are their super cool vocalizations always mating related? And one last question...I have medium sized gravel...is it harder for them to find those tiny red, frozen/thawed bloodworms that don't wiggle? I haven't been able to find those nifty live black worms in the vid. Okay..one last question i promise...how on earth do you know how much to feed them??!! Okay I'm done. Thanks in advance for your reply :-)

    10 years later, but maybe you're still checking comments! Wondering about feeding them live black worms - how often do you need to feed them if you do that? We have one African dwarf frog and we're going out of town next month for a week and a half - wondering putting some in the tank would mostly take care of him while we're gone, and then just have a friend check in once or twice to check water/etc while we're out.

What she misses I can stir up in the water and make it move to her. I usually dont have any waste. I have a 5 gallon tank that is 2 weeks old and the sponge filter is about ready for me to add some more frogs and maybe a fish. Not sure what type of fish I want to add. Any suggestions? • @soggyfries4347
      @soggyfries4347 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Shouldn't be an issue. The frogs might swipe at the fish by accident thinking its food sometimes but the tetras would out swim them. I have 5 frogs with pygmy cories, otos and shrimp and no issues. The shrimp fry will even crawl all over the frogs and they dont seem to care. But of course, everything is a case by case so I would keep a close eye the first few days but most likely that setup wont be an issue.

      Mallard feather AJ This is a bit late, but as far as size that should be alright. Having two male Gouramis might be an issue though depending on their temperment. Try adding plants and other things so they’re not constantly visible to one another

    Hi Corey, I have a 20 gal tall with one female betta, 4 male guppies, 3 black neon tetras, 3 glo light tetras, 1 mystery snail, and ramshorn snails. I want to add 2-3 African Dwarf frogs. However, my question is can I feed the African Dwarf Frogs Fluval tropical
    Formula Bug Bites? Please advise. If I cannot do that because they won’t eat it how many times a week should I feed them worms? I want to add them sort of like you did in this video, but I would like to continue feed the fish fluval. Please advise, thanks.

    Hi Cory! I bought two frogs, kept in a two gallon tank. Question, I have a bare bottom so they can find and eat better. Is that ok? Do I have to have gravel. I have filter and heater an d light.

    i usually feed my frogs omega one sinking frog pellets, it tends to get really messy, but they are *eating*, which my last frogs (i had a few years ago) werent really doing. i have them in a community tank with a school of 7 neons (that im trying to rehome) and a betta. they all get along very well. when i first got them, i was scared theyd get picked on or beaten out for food, but i have had few issues. ill have to give your method of the blackworms a try! if i can find them....

    I have three dwarf African frogs, seems to me that they are blind as bats, they just sort of lunge forward and take into their mouths whatever's in their way, and if it happens to be food, all the better! If it's not food they spit it out. Now that they're bigger, it appears that I have two males and one female, and the female is huge with eggs.

    I'm considering 2 females for a 40 gal breeder with a Male betta and other suitable betta tank mates. Do they spend quite a bit of time near the lower half of the tank? We want tank mates that will be visible vs just seeing legs floating near the top.

      Listing the actual water parameters when you test would help. Also you're using frozen blood worms correct? As freeze dried usually won't work. How old is the frog? What temperature are you running?

    • @beccichatter
      @beccichatter 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aquarium Co-Op .I'm not sure the age but roughly a year .The heat it around 18 c . which I don't know the US reading. I'll need to buy a new test kit but I do regular water changes. I put a tad of tonic salt in the tank to help the frog a bit

      Aquarium Co-Op also I use frozen blood worms in the cubes you pop out my other frog eats them and he's fine
      .I'm not sure if he has an infection in his system somewhere or what .He was thin when we got him but he was quite active and healthy but I don't know what went wrong? everything's the same and my other ones thriving. I user some tongs and wiggled a worm in front of him and he refused to eat .I thought about force feeding him as nothing seems to work .I feel he's in crisis as you can see his spine and ribs his legs are sticks. I've asked many breeder's and taken there advice but nothing has seems to help .

    So I have had one frog for about 2 years in the little tank they gave us at the toy store. It had no filtration system. He has been eating the pellets they gave us without problems. They told us to clean the water every 3 months and feed him 2 pellets twice a week. He never shed until recently when he began doing it a lot! I treated him with pimafix and it helped for a while, but now he has been doing it again. The guy at the pet store told me to get a 1 gallon tank with a filter because he was likely sick from dirty water. So we set him up in his new home and I dont think he likes it. He sort of scurries around the bottom like he is trying to dig his face in the gravel most of the time. he will only go to the top to get air behind the filter. I dont think he likes the current on the surface. Should I be worried about his behavior? I have read so much conflicting info about their care. How often should they be fed? He has never had a heater so he is at room temp. Does he really need one? His tank mate died shortly after we got them. He has been alone for 2 years. Should I risk getting him sick by getting another? Can I have 2 in a one gallon tank? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am trying so hard to keep my little guy alive!!

    • @samwinchester9406
      @samwinchester9406 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      its usually one gallon per frog and its completely normal for them to scurry. I think it would be very wise to get another because they are very social little guys and get lonely.

    I was thinking about getting some of these when I upgrade my tank to the fluval Roma 240L is that too big for them to get air and how are they with shrimp like cherries? I have 2 goldfish 3 hoplo cats 1 bristlenose and 1 dojo loach are they compatible if there was plenty of hiding space? I also have considered a red tail black shark. Also in general my tank is I heated but water is consistently 23/25 degrees C
