This session is a good example of one aspect why casinos are learning to like reserved tables for filming. You do not get up and leave bad shoes when you should/would otherwise.
You are right. I have said that on several of my videos in fact, that if I weren't filming, I would walk away. That is one aspect of filming that can be "bad" in that when you only have a set amount of time to get content, you feel compelled to stay even when you would otherwise take a break.
Glad you enjoyed! I can't promise to always do them but I will do them at least half the time. I plan to have a separate budget just for side bets so as long as they keep paying, I will be able to play them throughout my filming session. 👍
Slightly off topic, but curious, do you present your El Cortez players club card when buying into a blackjack session, and if so, does Casino treat you well with comps?
Yes and yes. I find El Cortez to have that old casino feel as far as comps and stuff are concerned. In other words, after a long session, the pit boss will ask you if you want to go get lunch and comp it. The new casinos are so "corporate" that you don't find that much anymore.
Playing two hands does not increase EV. I know there are other channels that do it and it looks to always work. Not everyone shows ALL of their play.. I don't pick and choose what I show. I don't skip over losses or only put a sprinkling of them on for good measure. This is reality. I show every single session I record - win or loss. The reality is, unless someone is counting cards, there is no benefit to adding hands. Simulations have proven this. In fact I have done it enough myself to know it doesn't help me. I didn't just pick up a camera a few months ago and decide to play. I've been playing for a very long time and have tried many things, including adding and taking away hands. It does not work for me. If that is how others want to play, I think they should do whatever they want to do. I would never tell another person how to spend their own money. Now, if someone would like to fund my play, I am happy to allow them to direct me how to spend that money. ☺
Im 37 and knew basic strategy when I was 12...played in my first casino at 18..You replied to another comment I made...you will lose on the side bets but if you are there for fun, play them, enjoy them. I must say the only sidebet I usually see is match the dealer, but as you said...you start rooting for the wrong thing, lol. It makes the game more enjoyable. I don't know how experienced you are or if it's offered but I would implement "surrendering" into your game. 15s and 16s against a dealer's 10 and ace just those 4 hands. I subbed...what happened at 10:46? you didn't mean to put up 25 on the side bets right?
I have been playing blackjack for many many years. I'm a lot older than most of the TH-cam table game players out there. 🤫😛 Unfortunately they don't offer surrender at many casinos. If they did, trust me, I wouldn't play those 16s against a 10. It's a junk hand. No matter how you play it, there's a larger percentage you will lose than win. I am very much a strategic player so I would never play them if I didn't have to play them. As for the $25 side bet. Completely accidental. I actually didn't even realize I did it until another viewer pointed it out. 🤦♀️ By the way, thanks for the sub! Very much appreciated!
That session reminded us of how our BJ went out there recently. Dealer pulling 21 out of her butt constantly etc. Love your videos and we hope the next session goes better!!
This is the day that we should technically have been home - we were supposed to fly out the day before but gave up our seats. I filmed for almost 5 hours straight and in the end made about $700 so it was nice. Now, wait until you see the next video - which was filmed a couple days before these. You have not seen brutal until you see that one! I don't even think I can relive that one. lol.
It was getting in the way of the cards since I had a shorter tripod. I did get a taller one so hopefully when the new videos come our in a couple of weeks, the angle will be better.
It would be cool if you can have a tracker on like the top left of the screen or something of your money so that we can see how much you are up or down
I noticed that the dealer made a mistake @13:42. You had 20 and the dealer made 21 and still paid you. She has 6+6+2+7=21 she even when back and looked at the cards and still didn’t notice haha
Yeah... other people also caught that. I actually never watch my videos back. Weird I know, so unless people tell me things, I typically never know.. I am not sure why she didn't notice since it looks like she recounted them. Maybe she counted wrong twice? Or maybe because I had pulled my money back?
I filmed most of them with the chips in camera but with the shorter tripod I had, the chips were starting to block the card view so I moved them to the side. I honestly don't see the need to see them anyway since I show what I start and end with. I think the most important thing to see are the cards and the discard tray so that is where I wanted the focus.
@Jim, with side bets, both, blackjack is main game side bets bring in a bit of 3 card poker, many say, sucker bets, but I like the action the side bet brings.
There was an old woman who lived in a shoe. She had so many children, she didn't know what to do. She gave them some broth without any bread; And whipped them all soundly and put them to bed. Mother Goose, according to local legend, it was the widowed Isaac Goose's second wife, Elizabeth Foster Goose, who entertained her numerous grandchildren and other youngsters with songs and rhymes that were purportedly published by her son-in-law in 1719
Yep...it was pointed out by several others. I am not sure why she didn't catch that since it looks like she recounted them maybe second guessing her first count. Maybe she counted wrong again? Or maybe because I had already pulled my money back? Who knows.
@@BeyondBlackjack from watching Slot lady, el Cortez is amazing at fixing improper pays especially when recorded. If they’ve shorted you, maybe speak to a pit boss.. I’m sure they would correct it in the future :) they have for Sarah on many occasions. Great session and thanks for sharing. Can’t wait til the next video 🍀🍀
This dealer is a capital B! I hate dealers like this, it's like she enjoys taking your chips! I also hate dealers who look at your card before they deal it to you!

Have fun! And good luck! Let me know how you do.

O I see that
She checked the cards again 6672 but still paid her? Confused

Great content! Just stumble upon your channel recently. Keep up the good work!👍
Thank you 😊

You bet! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
Dealer pulled 21 @13:42 & paid you. Then pulled 21 again the next hand and took it back lol.
How ya like that...lol

Yayyy!!! Love side bets.
Oh good! I think they are definitely fun.
Okay so I'm watching this video and once again I have to ask, why do you take loss after loss after loss and not go to two hands?
Playing two hands does not increase EV. I know there are other channels that do it and it looks to always work. Not everyone shows ALL of their play.. I don't pick and choose what I show. @@BeyondBlackjack ty for thoughtful reply.
Too many dealer miracles! Looks familiar because that’s my luck at BJ lately. I sometimes would play two hands just to change up the card rotation.
13:42 dealer pays instead take

Like it better Kelly when you at least show your chips for the main bet. I know you told us after the shoes whether you were up or down.

That would be cool but waaay to much work. I run 2 businesses and have 2 TH-cam channels - along with kids at home. Time is in short supply.

Couple tough shoes but that dealer was so dry tho sheesh lol
Yeah...some don't have the energy others do, but they are all really nice.
dealer @ 13:50 realized they messed up lol

? Definitely blackjack

The force is strong with that dealer. Wouldn’t it be beneficial to only shoot these videos when Rita is dealing?
Rita was leaving for the day. She actually stayed an hour past her shift to deal for me.
I think Binions used to have the face up and the old stratosphere
need a better camera angle it's blurry I. straining trying to see the dealer cards
I had a shorter tripod. I did get a taller one so hopefully when the new videos come our in a couple of weeks, the angle will be better.

13.40 she had 21 u had 20 and she paid you. Can someone explain whats up?
It was an error on her part.
I gotta learn to watch the video b4 reading the comments....talk about "Spoiler Alert"
Lol...yeah definitely

No I was not. If I did, it was in error. Lol. My side bets are confined to $5 max.
