I hope that the Reading Railroad Technical and Historical Society sponsors a Reading T1 gathering to celebrate the class's 75th anniversary, where all 4 surviving members are all gathered together for the first time since the Reading Iron Horse Rambles, each in a different configuration: 2124 in the Reading freight livery, 2100 in the Rambles livery, 2102 in full D&H 302 guise, and 2101 in her American Freedom Train livery she has worn since her decommission in 1979. The RRT&HS would also sponsor excursions headed by 2100 and 2102 as part of the celebration, including double headers.
i know this comment was 4 years ago but that is very unlikely. yes 2100 and 2102 is almost confirmed but throwing 2124 and 2101 into the mix, probably not. Especially 2101 considering she has trees growing in her tender and you can put your fist through the boiler. it would cost many millions of dollars if not close to 1 billion because of her absolutely terrible condition and needing almost a complete rebuild with at least 70% new parts including a whole new boiler and would need everything replaced on the tender.
since the 2100 and 2102 are excepted to return later in the year I just wonder if steam town would restore the 2124 (I know I already said that 2124 is my favorite of the four reading t-1's I expland why on ericstrains review on the new lionel model) the 2124 was the first engine to be used on the reading's steam program the iron horse rambles unlike the other three 2100 2101 and 2102 the 2124 was giving the name queen of the iron horse rambles (I wish it had lasted longer during the program) but I guess time will tell
2124 wouldn't be restored by Steamtown, she's too large. However, if someone else wants to restore her to operating condition, I do think she has a chance. From what it seems, she's a good candidate for operation, however, not the best because she would need major running gear work, as she would need a new eccentric rod and main rod.
How were you able to blow the whistles on two engines at once? 0:44-0:52 Is it some sort of online play, where someone helps you to do the two whistles at once?
I’m guessing that he changed the directions of which the locomotive closest to that end gets to use their horn but that would have caused it to slow down which it didn’t look like 🤔
@@ToyotaCorolla-qs7ml in trs19, when you reverse a consist while its moving, it also reverses the regulator/throttle in the opposite direction automatically so the consist maintains its speed and doesnt slow down. this might be a feature in t:ane, which k&l trainz uses to record their promos, but i'm not fully sure.
Just go to your game settings and over by where you have driver settings, there should be an option where you choose any key on the keyboard and use it for your secondary whistle. It may not work for all models, but only the ones that have secondary whistles. Or maybe you can just change the direction of the train in order to blow the whistle from the secondary locomotive.

If they do a 250 Freedom Train, it would be interesting to see how they'd haul it. Would 4449 and one of the Reading steamers do it again? Or would they give another engine a moment of glory? Some have actually suggested Union Pacific's Big Boy 4014 do the western leg, as much of the rails are now strong enough to support it and the engine is one of the most iconic in American history (many foreigners say it's one of the first engines they think of when you mention American steam trains).
Something i always ask myself but can't seem to figure out, how did you blow the whistle on D&H #302, because i assume the thing you were using on ground level to look up at the locomotive was another locomotive with a Inviscab and from what i know, you can't blow the whistle on a locomotive while being on a different one.
+noLongerUsed FNAF (Wheatley Gaming) It was pulled on the west coast by 4449. And 2101 handled it on the east coast. There were alot of clearance issues with 4449 on the easter side. Texas & Pacific 2-10-4 #610 pulled the train throughout Texas.

The whistle on the freight T1 is authentic. They sounded nothing like the deeper N&W Hooters. If you want to change it, you can go into the engines config file and change out the kuid for the hornsound to that of another whistle if you don't care for the Reading Hooter.
+stevelerro There is two separate options for to buy, Trainz 12 Pre SP1 and below or Trainz 12 SP1 and up. Will the TS12 SP1 version work with Pre SP1 as that is the version i have? Because i want it to work in both my TS12 and T;ANE.
+Pendennis Castle It will but the BM&R engine will error out. The second whistle requires a different cab on the newer games which doesnt work in the older one. If you get the PRE version, itll work in TANE but the second whistle wont.

TRAINMAN375 no way. TrainZ and Railworks content is incompatible with one another. To make it work would require a full unpacking, a completely new set of scripts, recompiling, etc. It could be done, but it would require the raw model files.

Assuming you mean the hooter in the beginning? I recorded a Reading hooter myself. So it's authentic as it gets. Same with all the other whistles. Taken right from the real engine. Most freight engines used hooters or banshee whistles. You'd expect a big engine like a t1 to have the deeper multi chime whistles. But the reading didn't care I guess.

It's all good. Most people don't care for the hooters on the T1s either. For the most part, any "freight only" engine typically had hooters or banshee's so they could communicate with whistle commands to helpers or crews in a caboose, and passenger engines typically had multichimed whistles because they were more pleasing to the ear. The T1s ended up with the 6 chimes during the rambles and during the AFT and Chessie trips.
