Discovered Elysion from suggestion after listening to Sirenia. My god, where was this band till now. "Changing" is a masterpiece - can't stop listening to it. The new album from 2023 is even better.

I mostly listen to Nightwish, Within Temptation, Delain, Xandria, The Gathering, etc and this band fits into my tastes nicely - excellent sound
If you like those bands, you might also try Tezaura and Dark Sarah.
Actually, it place itself in the most traditionnal sense of this substyle, but they do so well in execution they basycally surprise yourself.
Same here, Amaranthe and Kamelot are also on my list, may be a good one to look into for you too
check sacrificium de xandria if you want something clearly a step above.
Evanescence is my favorite but I listen to almost all of those bands as well. I'll have to listen to The Gathering now. Thanks for your list.

One of my favorite albums.
I always feel like they're the more modern version of Evanescence.
Evanescence is the modern day Evanescence
this band needs more promotion!! more videos in youtube and lives please! they deserve it!
This band is one of the best. I love their songs. They Deserve to be famous like Nightwish and to ROCK the world.
They got recognition in Metal Hammer so that’s a start.
@@FyreSturmOfficial Most people have bad taste so it's shocking that Nightwish is so popular. A lot of the best like Stream of Passion I had never heard the very name even mentioned in my life until I stumbled upon it somehow.
@@sagesaige2190 I also randomly discovered Stream of Passion a year ago and instantly loved their music. It's a shame that these bands aren't so well known.

this band deserves so much more recognition. if im being totally honest, i really feel that this is THE BEST gothic metal band. i dont say that lightly, im a fan of nightwish, lacuna coil, tiamat, within temptation etc.. i do love those bands but i just can't help but feel that this band has a slight edge above the rest.
This mesmerizing band so nice, soothing to sit back to, sip some wine, and then enjoy with eyes closed.
This band is damn amazing, easily my top 5 favorite. can't wait for more stuff.
I'm the only one that love all the album, but in particular: Fairtale, the Promise, Our Fate, What Lies..., Breakfree and the Best form me ¬In Despair.

It is good overall. It lacks a little 'big hit factor' for the goosebumps, but the song writing is good nonetheless, and everyone in the band is top. Maybe a bit too much on the same tempo. I just added them on my short list of 'bands i need to forget to forget'. But i wish there were more greek in their lyrics. Being bilingual is great and all, but they are greek and they need to showcase what makes them greeks instead of british. One or two songs in greek, like Nightwish adds songs in finnish. Just my personal take on this, though.

The beginning of Fairytale sounds so much like the beginning of Numb by Linkin Park that it caught me off guard.

I was thinking that too. It does have its similarities.
@@ayse2399 old WT is another style entirely which doesn't necessarily make it a better band. But Elysion as an alternative metal/modern metal band with gothic vibes is much better than the current Within Temptation who try to do the same. The problem is not having a more modern sound but the songwriting, lyrics and feeling. In that sense the current WT feels less inspired and deep.
