As someone who has Autism, I can understand Dave, I'm almost 15 and I still watch kid shows (like The Owl House, Amphibia, etc.) and pretty much once or twice a month, I would cry for little to no reason, even while I was going through puberty. I was also put in special ed class until like what, middle school, I think. If it wasn't for those people who gave my parents advice on how to help me overcome my Autism or those special ed classes that I took, I wouldn't be here today. I feel sorry for Dave as I'm autistic myself. Although I'm mostly more mature than what is expected at my age, sometimes I have my moments. At least people understand that I can't control my emotions very well.
I’m also a high functioning autistic, but hopefully I don’t go down the same path that Dave has all his life. Most of my peers understand my ASD, and I always act my age (16) and not so childish. I could really hope I could make some social improvements that I could have done a long time ago.
I did not know that Dave is diagnosed with Autism. I am also diagnosed with Autism since I was two years old. Like Dave, I also end up acting childish, but mostly at home (like when my mom tells me every two weeks to vacuum my house when I did not want to and freaked out about it) since I mostly learned how to control myself in a public environment.
