Hey filthy,
not that I expect memory to persist, but do you recall at all what other civs you were drafted in addition to the ottomans? I am interested in knowing which ones you would turn down to take ottomans in a comparative sense, since ottomans are kinda mediocre imho.
(If there is a draft for this game I am unaware/couldn't find it)

I know im two years late, but with extra luxuries he would be able to found more cities. Also, he probably wanted the free worker and settler from liberty.

Filthy, I found an amazing strategy with Siam with NQ AND Sukritact's events and decisions...
why?
because one of Siam's decisions gives them enough influence base with CSs ( I forgot what they were called ) combined with Patronage that every single CS will always be at 30 influence which means you are eternally friends with every single CS that you meet, with NQ patronage, it equals to OP.
I would've won on deity if Brazil wasn't making 600 tourism and Babylon 10 techs ahead of me and a couple ahead from everyone else...
and I was OCC since the surrounding land was crap as all hell...
and if I didn't need to build any more units than I needed to defend against a dumb Carthage, they almost killed me, but I white peaced...
Ended up declaring a war after they 2nd dec and took a city with 2 trebs.
It doesn't matter what I did to Carthage though since Babylon was 1st in army and Brazil was on the other side of the continent ( Hellblazers continent map ) not coastal.... ridiculous..
they dont use "events and decisions" in MP
ik, I'm just saying its a powerful strategy
