Thankyou so much that really helped me. I got a new nx8 and I put the 45 amp avian in my carbon cub s2 and the motor out of a Maule in it so it can run on 4S and man does she COOK. ITS FAST AND LOTS OF POWER. I GOT TO STRNGTHEN THE WINGS ANOTHER CARBON FIBRE ROD.

Take a look at the wing struts also, watch the contact points. Also reinforce the hinges with blenderm tape or hold the foam flexible glue. With the extra force from the 4s power the hinges may give prematurely.

I just did exactly what was instructed in your video, but now my throttle won’t turn motor on ,either in forward or reverse? Any solutions?
does not sound like your ESC armed.

How to program reverse thrust dx8e?
According to the Spektrum website a DX8e supports forward programing and there for you should be able to access a avian ESC that has reverse. The process is the same as this video. If you cab access the avian menu then you can setup reverese.

Have a dx6e that’s I got 4 years or so ago . Trying to set up reverse trust on habu ss . I can get to all the steps in your video but thrust amount you set to 7 it won’t let me set anything . Also thrust ch I can’t set anything. Have you seen this issue ? Thank you
Make sure you have your transmitter updated. Also you have 30 seconds to access the avian menu once you plug the plane in.
is the Avian ESC the brand that comes installed on many of the newer Eflight models and will the thrust reverse set up only work for the newer NX line of transmitters, as I have an older DX Tx ?...thanks

I just programmed thrust reverse on the out of the box Eflite RV7 using your instructions and a DX8 gen2. Thank you for your great videos. There were no manual instructions with the kit.. BTW, some planes come with the Avian “Smart Lite” ESC while others have the Avian “Smart” ESC. They will both do the job. Keep those great vids coming. You are a good teacher. Paul Z.

Cool, I'll be getting my habu ss in about 3 weeks and I'll be sure to do this. Right now, there's still 3 inches of snow on my flying field, lol.

@@FatGuyFliesRC I went out to fly my aeroscout with dubro skis yesterday and saw that the runway was clear of snow when I got there. I had to take off and land in the grass, lol. The forecast is for more snow this coming week but I think this will be the last.

Hey I just have to thank you for this video it was great! I just started this hobby and just bought my first EDF I have a NX8 and was able to set up the R/T, now I just need to take it out and fly it and hope I don't crash😬

Thanks for the video, Greg. I just setup thrust reverse in my Habu SS and will now apply the same methods to other planes with the Avian ESC.
In digital switch setup, I set the G-switch to -100% for positions 0 and 1, and 100% for position 2. Position 2 is thrust reverse. I suppose I could reverse the switch and go 100%/100%/-100%. I was surprised that the default setting had me at -100% for forward thrust and 100% for reverse. Was yours set way?
Well to be honest I do not remember. but your not gonna hurt it and as long as it works run with it. i do know they suggest your throttle cut to be set to -130% . Sorry I cannot advise further at this time.
