Excellent stuff. Looks behind the curtain of the mysteries of threads. Was recently taking inventory of some older materials. Came across a few old spools of Danville "A" and monocord. Antiques
having tied for almost 50 years now, it's all to be taken with a shot of whiskey... great explanations tho. Danville was always the standard. Anyhow, these days every manufacturer's thread labeling make only a little bit more sense than hook sizes. Used to make sense, now it's all arbitrary. By the way, I've been given to understand that the timeless classic Danville 3/0 Monocord is gone. I have bought and used many spools of 140 denier Danville, which is now the "replacement" for monocord, and it is good but not the same.
Being new to tying I find thread to be my biggest problem trying to figure out. This definitely helped me. Thanks
Great job on explaining everything. You are like a thread wizard man

@@GalenColton Danville A is good stuff. I’ve got a stash of it myself!
This was a great video, very well explained. Thanks for sharing.
Very helpful. Newbie to fly tying.
I'm left handed, but tie right. Uni is always flat for me and I have to spin the bobber if I want it round. This was an interesting video.
Thank you kindly. Excellent explanation.
Terrific information. Thx Charlie
Thanks Charlie, nicely explained 😉☕️☕️
