Costco Greenhouse Vs Windstorm. Palram Canopia vs Santa Ana Winds

The Santa Ana Winds here in the Southern California were gusting 60mph (and in some reports saying as high as 80mph) for a 24 hour period.
Our new Palram Canopia Balance 8 ft. Series Greenhouse (12 ft version purchased from Costco) barely survived. I was only able to video some of the gusts.
As you see, the greenhouse is quite strong, however, if I didn’t intervene, it could have been a disaster.
Four of the roof panels blew out and a rear wall panel partially blew out. The panels are still in great shape except for scratches and dents, but otherwise totally reusable.The doors were swinging wildly and the hinges were bending. I the doors would have been damaged beyond repair had I not tied them down to immobilize them. For the roof, I added 8 foot long studs, held down by bricks, to prevent more roof panels from coming off - it worked. I believe that it’s a good thing that the 4 roof panels came off. It relieved a lot of the wind resistance and therefore put less stress on the structure. It’s a difficult job to reinstall the panels - you basically have to take apart the frame in order to reinsert them. So instead, I plan to lay them on top of the frame and strap them in, which makes them solid but also easily removable for the next wind event. And finally, the greenhouse was bolted down to a heavy brick/concrete foundation. This was pretty critical as the entire greenhouse could have done a “Wizard of Oz” type of thing.
