My thoughts exactly. Lately I've been using this resource and one or two others as often as I am actually in the word. Maybe I need to re-evaluate that haha.

That is great to hear that you found this helpful. We have a library of resources just like this for most of the books of the New Testament, with more added all the time. I hope that your message on Philippians went well! Blessings Elena!

That is very high praise, as we very much love and respect the crew at BibleProject, and all that they are doing. We see our resources as complimentary to all of the great resources that they have created, and continue to create. Thank you so much!

@The Bible Effect - Thank you for this video! Per usual it was really great. Can you recommend any books that helped you (you guys) learn more about the context of the Bible?

    • @TheBibleEffect
      @TheBibleEffect  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thank you for your encouraging words. For our videos, we source the information from many different commentaries and scholarly works. But when it comes to shedding light on the historical background, I can highly recommend the IVP Bible Background Commentary, and the Zondervan Illustrated Bible Backgrounds Commentary. The scholars who have put them together are top notch, and they give a great balance of good insight, without getting bogged down in details of little significance. Blessings in your study!!

Not a book but check out the Bible Project yt channel. It gives an overview of each book (check their playlists for new and old testament) with context. Especially important for Revelation.

I think it’s a common mistake to think that pride is defined by good personal hygiene and The enjoyment of dressing in a way you like.
That’s not it. Pride is looking down on others who do not. Or believing that your appearance defines you as a better person.

“As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on thing and people: and, of course, as long as you are looking down you cannot see something that is above you.”

    Land of the morning,
    Child of the sun returning,
    With fervor burning
    Thee do our souls adore.
    Land dear and holy,
    Cradle of noble heroes,
    Ne'er shall invaders
    Trample thy sacred shores.
Ever within thy skies and through thy clouds,
And o'er thy hills and seas,
Do we behold the radiance, feel the throb
    Of glorious liberty.
Thy banner dear to all our hearts,
    Its sun and stars alight,
Oh, never shall its shining fields
    Be dimmed by tyrant's might!
Beautiful land of love, o land of light,
In thine embrace 'tis rapture to lie,
But it is glory ever, when thou art wronged,
For us, thy sons to suffer and die.

🤦, conservative and liberal celebrities or movements are NOT hills to die on. "A reminder for all of us...". "continue to place out loyalty in Christ alone"
