beautiful car but the pops and bangs will seriously shorten the life of the turbine -normally ends up in pieces in the intercooler,been there done that lol
i think i was quite lucky -no metal fragments passed the intercooler so no fragments entered the engine -just ran the anti lag one time too many lol in the time it took to shut the engine down it drank 2 litres of oil-straight out the exhaust and 1/3 filled the intercooler -ive seen evidence when the turbine wheel debris chewed up my friends mitsi evo head and 1 piston crown- didnt like passing though the air path to the cylinder ,thats for sure. very nice car that--------
Those old transmissions were very reliable and took well to boosted engines with insane power. People were racing on those transmissions, too. VERY few failures. The quattro was already generations ahead at that point, making repairs easy, maintenance was nothing to speak of.
4x4? Its AWD. 4x4 is something that is not full time 4 wheel drive. Such as a truck that can use both rear 2 wheel and then lock up the fronts to use 4x4. Most cars don't have problems with AWD, thats super uncommon for stuff to go wrong. The Diff and Trans are very good.
