2003 Dodge Ram 4th gen towing mirror upgrade

In this video I install 4th generation trail ridge tow mirrors on a 3rd gen Dodge Ram.
I attribute my successes to god and give him the glory.

They ought to help the situation a lot, good mirrors are a must.

I found with the small mirrors the angle of sight was like a triangle and I wasn’t seeing straight down the side of the vehicle. It was making it hard to back up in a straight line.

I used to drive a school bus - having 6 mirrors made an amazing difference for seeing around a large vehicle! Good luck.

I know what you mean. I found it easier to see around in a dump truck then on a small car.

@@JasonTheMunicipalMechanic no it ended up taking a few weeks between all my other responsibilities. Finally got it started up Friday and it had a misfire. Ugh. Had to send it to Cummins because they warranty the complete engine assembly. So it was pretty anticlimactic.

I knew if I got the Chevy ones I’d hear about it from the guys at work. I did see the tow mirrors like these on a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was a bit odd looking. It looked like that little truck ginger billy built with the huge tow mirrors.

The mirrors look great . You'll definitely have a better field of view over the originals. Do they vibrate when going down the road giving a fuzzy picture or are they stable like the factory mirrors?

These ones don’t shake. I had gotten a set of cheap ones off eBay that shook when I closed the door and were not very good. I’m pretty happy with these one except the lower secondary mirror doesn’t transfer well from the up position to the horizontal position on the passenger side. It’s facing a direction that requires adjusting also when switched back and forth unlike the 3rd gen that the bubble mirror follows the main mirror and adjusts easily with it. I’ll May just have to leave them in towing mirror guy mode
