"At first, we thought that the prisoner was probably working with the Mythic Dawn. I mean, who wouldn't, he distinctly threw a fireball on the Emperor. But the Emperor kept telling us he wasn't, and that we should trust him no matter what. I had some doubts, but it has to be said that the way he flew through walls to kill assassins one after another was impressive. Yet, when the prisoner made us wait for twenty-four hours in the sewers while other assassins were lurking around, I still wasn't too sure about how much trust we should put in him; Glenroy and I were ready to intervene in case he would betray us, despite our Emperor's words. From that point, I am not to sure of what exactly happened: the prisoner came to tell me -unnecessarily quickly- that the Emperor had a hidden heir and that he (the prisoner) was a scout. Then, he suddenly vanished, never to be heard about ever again. As far as we were concerned, we made it to the end of the sewers without the Emperor being hurt, but pretended he was killed to make sure no other assassins would try and finish the job. What came up next, you all know it, with that mysterious high-elf woman coming out of nowhere and proving similar skills as the prisoner we had encountered, eventually defeating the Prince of Destruction with the help of our Emperor's last heir, Martin Septim. May his sacrifice never be forgotten. There is something about the Septims and the way they perceived the world: nobody would have ever guessed how these two abstruse characters ended up making history the way they did. Only a man of Tiber Septim's blood could have had the foresight of putting all our hopes on such a common-looking redguard prisoner (who Uriel told us to be one with the high-elf woman that showed up later, which I barely even understand). Whatever he saw in this convicted man on this fateful day, we'll never really know, but his lucidity surely spared us much mourning in the advent of the crisis to come." - Brief History of the Empire, v.5, preface by Baurus, former Blades' officer
> be me, a Mythic Dawn cultist > can’t wait to bring back Dagon > go into cult meeting > get more details on the Septims > suddenly a skooma addicted spider monkey jumps into our meeting, steals our sacred texts and just leaves > mfw
We were discussing this the other day. If your FPS drops the wait goes slower. Personally I don't think they should be timed out because routing would be more interesting and PCs these days will hardly drop frames in Oblivion, but there wasn't enough desire for change amongst everyone.
Did you just... save the Emperor?

The king
average skooma enjoyer
All I saw was the save screen and everything else was a blur.
Should waiting be considered game play 🤔

Oh okay. Yeah I wasn’t sure if wait time varied between connection speed. Makes sense then
Представте как Император Уриэль Септим 7-й стоит и ждёт своей судьбы всё время пока Чемпион Сиродила бегает по Сиродилу под скумой всё это время. 😅
Yo nice!
that looks disgusting to speedrun
