Connor, i am a busy, working man. I want you to keep this in mind that, when i say that you're the only let's player that i see it's not because of charm, or jokes or whatever, it's because you explain what's going on both in game, and with summaries. Those are almost exclusively to you, and while i am familiar with DD2, i am not familiar with everything you play, yet those explanations make it 100% worth it to watch every one of your videos. Excellent work.
Btw, if you are wondering why everyone hated each other most of the time, is because Connor chose some actions in battle (like prioritizing someone for healing when another person is also low) that almost always pissed a character off. Also, if the characters have more than 3 stress, they get worse banter in the road, and their teams are all stressed most of their times. Normally, if you navigate through the characters needs, you can usually minimize bad relationship to a max of only 1 or 2.
Also Meltdowns absolutely TANK relationships and he's getting them all the time Each meltdown gives a -3 relationship with that chatacter with everyond So 2 breakdowns will drop you 6 relationship pips and bassicslly guarantee everyone hates each other unless you drop like 200 on relationship items at the inn
@@Canadian_Zac That's actually one of the reasons Poet Leper is such a good tank at getting everyone to before the mountain and why BH is so useful at time. Poet can just Tank by using Withstand or spamming Intimidate, then when his stress is too high he can use Reflect, which heals a stress, or use Solemnity, which when upgraded, heals him by three stress and 75% of his health. He's a walking tank that only needs help with damage, even more so if you equip Misstep, which increases his health by 75% at cost of halving his damage but you'll very rarely use tank Leper for damage unless you're running Monarch for the Intimidate buff and are at an Oblivion's Rampart or The Mountain, but that should be left for boss fights and Oblivion's Ramparts. BH just doesn't interact with the relationships system as a whole.
I see Connor is *still* not paying any attention or reading stuff and just clicking without thinking. Love the guy but it is frustrating to see him play DD. The narration recaps are really good though.
i like it when connor structures his videos like he's a storyteller character in a movie or a game recounting his adventures and having flashbacks sequences
When Connor gets nervous or annoyed, he plays with his hair. When he is doing really good, he plays with his hair. To summoris, Connor likes playing with his hair.
I don't even want to fight a shambler with a completely equiped team because i just KNOW that the game will find a way to kill atleast one hero. Either during the fight itself or in one of the following encounters because they got weakened too much.
@@leotox6423 No joke. Shambler in DD1 was hard, in DD2 it's insane. Most of the fights are easier, but somehow that bastard managed to become even HARDER.
@ The only chance you have is to burst it down with high damage heroes. Always kill the tentacles as fast as possible or they'll destroy you. Throw everything else directly at the Shambler.
I really like that they were willing to mix up DD2 mechanics, but i think if they can bring back keeping a constant roster and character relationships DD3 would be incredible
DD2 is easier but still good but it cant beat the feeling of getting a virtue in DD and the narrator goes “many fall in the face of chaos, but not this one… not today”
I love how this game alwasy puts emphasis on being rough to you. At first you fall flat a couple of times, then you get used to the level of misery you get all the time. But then the lairs and the mountain are just orders of magnitude worse than even that and the game always finds a way to make it even worse. It is brilliant
I feel like this is the first game I've seen Connor actually take time to read and understand since I started watching him, majority of the time he just spams through dialogue and such
he do love his roguelikes and roguelites lol and most of those games are playing with and against the mechanics so i think it makes sense that he payed closer attention to this than other games
Even then, he struggled a good bit since he didn’t understand a decent bit of stuff like game relationships, getting/losing tokens, and just finishing enemies off sometimes to reduce enemy turns.

15:30 Watch me just be a GIGACHAD Leper for sometime. This stream was really fun! I really loved it despite being game ended for a day! Also 19:07 I love you too Connor.
I really appreciate how once Connor decides he's going to do something, he locks in and follows through. I'd rather see him scream, suffer, get punished for his overconfidence, and adapt to the challenge until he succeeds than quit once it's no longer "fun." Even if it looks like he's complaining or being cocky on the surface, there's always a level of humility in him that lets him focus on solving the problem in front of him.
It's symbolism. The whole point of the story is that of the Protege (ie the player character) coming to terms with his own mistakes and sins and fixing what he did to the world. The bosses symbolise the tiles of each chapter - the major faults of the Protege that led to him causing the world to go mad. First boss wasn't the brain, it was the shackles - Denial keeping the Protege from acknowledging his faults and that they need to be overcome.
Unfortunately, the narrator Wayne June has passed away, a legendary voice has been lost. Rest in peace the absolute peak of grim, dark, and grimdark setting narrators.

I don't wanna watch this. I really don't. But I am gonna. DD as a series has managed to convince me that people don't read the instructions games provide them with. But I am gonna watch it. I've gotten to a point in DD1 where I can manipulate light to my favor, go torchless for long periods of time and ace almost every enemy combo the game can throw at me. And I know watching Connor play the sequel, a game I've never touched, will drive me up the wall and have me scream at the screen for stuff the game classically let him in the know but he didn't read them. I will get mad. But again, I will watch it. F u c k.
why did i never think about moving the BOOKS with the librarian i guess i just assumed they were immune to being moved like the librarian himself what a gamechanger for my lairs
I mean, Librarian gets to the front faster and gets a cleave move if he gets to space 1 while books are alive. It’s better to just bring backline damage but pushing the books is better than nothing

I almost never get bad relationships, just takes some budgeting along the road and managing stress by choosing certain options and stalling in combat. Also for the lungs, 12 damage removes the front lung token, 9 damage removes the back lung token.
