Another great video - learned from this one that the banded terminals will fit a larger gauge due to the *slightly* thinner wall on the terminal (socket or pin), which allows a bit larger wire. Excellent info!
@@juanarredondo9601 technically they are- but it is very difficult to remove stamped pins from the HD30 series or similar “round” connectors- not an issue with DT/AT style connectors
@@Colinchazz the documents indicate that there should be .020” of strands showing and the wire bottomed out so that you can see them in the indicator hole in the side of the terminal.
What is the Purpose of The Aux/Pilot Contacts ? like in a 480V 3 phase 4W application, what would be the purpose of the aux/pilot contacts if any ? Can you give a real world example or provide links to such ?
Hi, i have a Standard Holley Terminator X Wiring Harness for my LS K30 and would like to cut the harness and ad a round mil spec connector to my firewall. I have counted roughly 72 wires total, what connectors would you reccomend? Also I might want a separate connector for my 4L80e wire Harness.
The 47/29 pin combo is a popular one for similar combos, it also allows for some larger 12 ga wires for higher current. The pinout sheets are on our website and if you need more info/help give us a call!!
GXL has thicker insulation than the others, which can be problematic when using the insertion/extraction tools with these connectors. I personally would stay away from GXL with these.
@#$&@#$& You car guys have the luxury of space! Try doing a sano install of “modern electronics” wiring into the space between a motorcycle gas tank, headstock, and the headlite nacelle. Boo hoo

You could not image how long it's taken me to find the information you so clearly laid out in this video. Thank you!

Thank you for guiding the new guys!
excellent video thank you!
But lets say i have a mil-spec connector for AWG 22, can Still fit other sizes or is AWG 22 the only One? Like AWG 24,20,18
are solid pins and stamped/formed pins interchangeable,

How much wire strands are supposed to show after crimping do u crimp onto the actual strands or rubber installation

Nice to see
What about running gxl wire? Will that work with those pins and that connector?
Yes, but we recommend txl or Tefzel wire.
