    These types of Historic finds and uncoverings are truly amazing to me. Much like 27,000-year-old cave drawings. History is enlightening and humanity is much older than we once thought.

    I was there last evening (March 8, 2018). The latest nor'easter (March 7 - March 8) has mostly covered the wreckage again, but you can still see tips of the wooden frame sticking up out of the sand.

    Awesome!! What happens next to the sip?

      Nothing. It is still down there. Once the storm was done the sand covered it back up again. We will see it when we next get a big enough storm!

    Nice job! I saw the article online yesterday and wished I'd made it over. Surprised they've left it there. I've flown on that very spot half a dozen times and had no idea that was there.

      Thanks. I believe they said it is too costly to remove and they would not learn much more from it by doing so. Amazing to think it was under us all those times we frequented short sands during the summer.

    Last time it resurfaced was 2010. I have the pictures on my facebook page back in 2010 with my daughters.

      Sounds great. I shall take a look. Am interested to see what it looked like on previous times it surfaced.

      CanesFan12 They said it’s too expensive to excavate and wouldn’t learn much more about it by doing so. It’s better preserved buried in the sand.

      Live Free and Drone , fair enough. Maybe they could 3d scan it a bit to render a copy for a kids museum or something..

    1:00 could have just walked around the shipwreck and then measure the straight point from one end to the other...why walk directly on something if trying to preserve it? smh

    • @livefreeanddrone
      @livefreeanddrone  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jun Yes it’s a shame. People were told not walk on it or down the middle of it but some people did and have even been taking bits home.

      That is terrible. Oh well, guess there is nothing we can do about it at this point. Thank you for this video! At least it will be kept for memories for those who see it.
