Which game profile would probably fit best in most other games in general? I don't really want to set a profile for every game I play I'm just wondering which one would be fit for most games, in your opinion?
You won't be getting the most out of your headsets audio without setting seperate profiles for each game, as they all render audio differently than others. That's the beauty of these headsets, so you can fine tune your audio to be top notch in every game vs just top notch in certain games based off one audio curve. But if that's your desired way of doing it, just use custom preset and use something along the lines of my Battlefield EQs, since that game balances audio cleanliness the best from testing.
Hello, I just bought a pair of blackshark v2, and I'm wondering Should I still turn off the THX off on synapse or is it fixed. Will I get the full THX Spatial experience with having this on off or is it better on now?
It's better now, but it's still not as good as turning it off. Still unlocked through windows so you are getting good spatial audio. Better than Ive tested in other scenarios.

I do not split my audio, everything that comes to stream audio comes directly from what I hear in my headset. My streamlabs prior setup used to be "Blackshark v2 pro" as the source, however you can change the audio source for stream to capture anything the desktop hears, but that can either work or not work depending on your monitor. I use stream elements now, and I am able to use desktop audio now, but I still don't. Streamlabs I was never able to use desktop audio. And thank you!!!
THX is used in windows settings, similar to how windows sonic is implemented, It just unlocks the channels and amplifies audio abit. It's spatial audio, not so much "surround sound." The thx tab in synapse is broken and works like a surround sound amplifier so it's not worth it. You'll get better separation by turning it off in synapse
I have a doubt, when you configure the custom and then turn off the thx, it is not taking the custom configuration that you put, that is what I understand, right?
No it does save the EQ to your headset, THX tab is just the amplifier that gives it's software sided version of surround sound/spatial audio. Turning it off, you still get the EQ, and having THX Spatial on in windows still unlocks the headsets other channels.
please help me man; i did everything you said but discord sounds echoing. hearing my friends like that feels weird. when i switch my speakers to razer usb card discord sounds are okey but i dont wanna do that because i wanna use 7.1 for the games.

Try lowering the high EQs, and raising the low EQs. If that doesn't work do the opposite. Play with sound normalization as well, and see if you get the desired sound. Your ears must pick up frequencies different
Thanks this helped me pick good settings for open world games! Do you know if the Music Rock EDM eq is good for other types of music to, like pop EDM or from bands like Imagine Dragons?
It should sound good for majority of music, but some genres benefit from highs more than lows, this EQ favors lows more, but id just bring down the first 4 EQ bars by one or two notches, and bring the last 4 EQ bars up by one or two to balance out the quality per genre. Cheers man!

Synapse software allows the unlock inside windows, using the tab inside the software as well as in windows causes a reverb effect that's bad and muddy. For now, it's not fixed and needs to be addressed, however I believe in recent updates it has fixed for newer headsets, as I see it working well with my Kraken V3 Pro. This is for the best audio experience currently up until it's fixed, you can play with it in both ways to see if you like it regardless, but audio separation and cleanliness is best in my setup ATM. Hope that helps!
I have a question regarding Battlefield 1. When you play Battlefield in general what are your in game audio settings? Sure the preset will be headphones but there is a "surround" option. Do you turn the surround on with settings in Synapse on top or nah? Thank you!
I can't recall what settings I have used in the past, since I've deleted the game awhile ago, but most likely I would use something enhancing the bass. Preferably would be some upgraded setting tuned for drivers like the Logitech or Astro one, or I would use night mode or a bass boost feature for enhancement of footsteps. Hopefully that helps and sorry I couldn't be more exact without the game installed again.
Best Razer Eq guide ever. Would it be possible to make a video about eq settings in Hunt Showdown? It says it uses binaural sound and to just use stereo mode with no enhancements but I think that the eq needs to be adjusted slightly but I'm not sure which settings to change.
hey man I have a problem where it does not want to change to thx spatial audio its very weird when I also check the sound settings on the computer it does not even appear there im not sure what to do since ive looked up at the website on how to conncet it but it still does not want to work
Uninstall and reinstall synapse, it's cloud based so any other products will be remembered. Also, go into your driver's list in windows and make sure there's only one Blackshark V2, not two. Sometimes it'll show as Blackshark V2 (1), that one needs to be deleted and only have Blackshark V2. Audio devices section ^ hopefully that helps
Hey there, thanks a TON for this guide. A question if I may: why you set the custom mode in the THX section and then turn it off? Also: turning the Spatial audio on in Windows you mean Sonic?
Turning on the custom mode gives you the channels to be utilized in synapse, it also still locks the positioning of audio to your desire, but it shuts off the thx spatial overlap that causes the weird sound to audio. It's bugged, but works much better in there newer headsets. Turning on thx spatial mode in windows is under your sound settings, not the same thing as windows sonic. Do not use windows sonic. Make sure your default audio device is thx spatial, and not the headset.

Different drivers in that headset, meaning different frequencies give different results. I'll have to work on an EQ based off my old kraken Ultimates. Keep an eye out on discord for an update on them, but for now id just switch to studio reference in game audio, and use custom eq on cod Instead of thx comp. Hopefully that helps abit!
Turn them all up! Could also be an audio bug that's causing the game to lower and not priotize game audio. Check windows sounds settings and make sure everything is disabled other than thx spatial and your headset for sound.
Hi, thanks for video it helped a lot but i have a question. Why I can't see 7 dots on spatial audio modes when i choose custom mode, I can only see 5 dots on this page. Do you have any idea about that?
Gotta download the other add-on features. Should be a tab to download other features inside synapse, or you can uninstall and reinstall synapse to download fresh and choose the options you'd wish to add on.
Try reversing the EQs it may be your ears pick up frequencies abit. Start with highs receiving more EQ and lows receiving less. Also play with the sound normalization

In audio settings I have THX Spatial and a different one called THX Spatial Audio which I set to default like you instructed. Do you know what the other one is about because I didn’t see it in your setup? Also (please do correct me if I’m wrong) you have to do the whole thx on, set to custom mode then thx off thing every time before you launch a game and it’s not a one time thing, right?
Yea you set your thx on just to put it at custom and then turn it off. Thx spatial vs thx spatial audio is one relys on paying for the software to use it, the other is given free from the headset. Some headsets don't offer thx spatial free, so that's why they have the option to buy it. Use the one that comes with your headset, which is the free one thx spatial audio
Yes they are aware but again, it's fixed for newer headsets not the older ones. Still sounds good regardless it isn't a big deal.

@ correct yes, since the release of the kraken v3, barracuda and kaira, the v2 series of everything else didnt get updated into the newest synapse update, most likely due to the tuning of drivers from release.

THX Spatial, and I set it to Dynamic Home Theatre for Blackshark V2 Pro, however I don't use it anymore. I'm on Kraken V3 Pros, just feels like a polished version of the Blacksharks, but more comfortable and has Haptic feedback
Hello, just bought the Blackshark V2s and used your settings guide for Warzone, music, and open world. However, my friends tell me my mic quality sounds bad compared to my prior headsets (Hyperx Cloud IIs). I tried a few things out and when I picked the Broadcast mic equalizer, they said it sounded better but still not good. If you (or anyone else here) have better recommended mic settings, please share! Thanks.
Go into your mic EQ settings and set it to.. 31Hz = maximum 63Hz = 9 125Hz = maximum 250Hz = 0db 500Hz = 0db 1kHz = 0db 2kHz = 0db 4kHz = 0db 8kHz =0db 16kHz =0db This worked for me
Hey Man! Been following you from quite a while and really appreciate all of your content, your videos are BY FAR the most detailed ones for Razer v2 Pro's. I want to double check with you on the following: 1. You mention that one should "activate" thx spatial audio on synapse but this just to be able to select the audio profile (game, music, custom, etc.), then turning it off. You suggest creating a custom profile, but my question is if it makes a difference if the custom profile is based upon the game mode, or upon the music mode, etc. What's the real difference between the music, game, movie modes that come by default? 2. If there are real differences in these profiles, then I would assume that creating the custom profile based upon game mode is preferable? If this is the case, then why use custom mode if one can directly select game mode from the different calibration profiles. 3. Why do you use a specific EQ for each and every single game?
Thanks for the help, glad i have found someone to help me with my BS V2 PRO. But the issue i can see with the headset, and maybe it's just me, but sometimes when i talk to someone i can kind of hear sound breaking a lil bit, maybe i need to tune down discord or smt, cause i don't seem to find that issue when i listen to music or smt else... Also i didn't try them on "wired" mode, and idk if it's even worth to try that, i have splitter for audio/mic jack, so idk might have different results... Also i had an issue with connection few times, and after i moved it away from other usb ports it seems like it works like it was supposed to, it's just a hassle cause my other usb3 on the front is not working for quite some time, so i won't be able to use them + charge them, but oh well, i guess ill try wired version if i don't fix that one...
Most likely it's an issue on there end, or discord connection, depending on your internet. Wired mode is mainly good if you have a steady connection to your case, but you.should see best results charging or wireless. Remember to barely turn your knob down abit, usually it cleans up the audio abit too, but I mean like barely move that thing. Just enough to hear the difference

no matter what settings mine is on the speakers have this annoying Fuzzy noise happening when something bassy and loud is happening. Do yours do this?

Hey for me, on the pc sound settings, the thx doesn't show for me. Only the soundcard. It's setup both as communicating and default.
Why turn off the thx spacial audio?

I am having problems with my Razer Blackshark V2 to be noticed on Syanpse 3
Uninstall and reinstall synapse, it's cloud based so any other products will be remembered. Also, go into your driver's list in windows and make sure there's only one Blackshark V2, not two. Sometimes it'll show as Blackshark V2 (1), that one needs to be deleted and only have Blackshark V2. Audio devices section ^ hopefully that helps

Hey there, thanks a TON for this guide. A question if I may: why you set the custom mode in the THX section and then turn it off? Also: turning the Spatial audio on in Windows you mean Sonic?
Turning on the custom mode gives you the channels to be utilized in synapse, it also still locks the positioning of audio to your desire, but it shuts off the thx spatial overlap that causes the weird sound to audio. It's bugged, but works much better in there newer headsets. Turning on thx spatial mode in windows is under your sound settings, not the same thing as windows sonic. Do not use windows sonic. Make sure your default audio device is thx spatial, and not the headset.

Different drivers in that headset, meaning different frequencies give different results. I'll have to work on an EQ based off my old kraken Ultimates. Keep an eye out on discord for an update on them, but for now id just switch to studio reference in game audio, and use custom eq on cod Instead of thx comp. Hopefully that helps abit!
Hi to CS GO try set eq -3,-1,0, +1,+2+3,+3,+3,+2,+1. Sound normalization turn on (20%-50%), bass boost turn off, voice clarity turn off.
Eq settings for valorant feel extremely soft and quiet for me. Any idea how I can fix this(
Turn them all up! Could also be an audio bug that's causing the game to lower and not priotize game audio. Check windows sounds settings and make sure everything is disabled other than thx spatial and your headset for sound.

Custom mode is just a configured preset mode. So use music, and then move it around, it should turn it into a custom mode to use

Gotta download the other add-on features. Should be a tab to download other features inside synapse, or you can uninstall and reinstall synapse to download fresh and choose the options you'd wish to add on.

Try reversing the EQs it may be your ears pick up frequencies abit. Start with highs receiving more EQ and lows receiving less. Also play with the sound normalization
@@BravenTyler Thanks for the quick response Braven. But its not the problem with the EQ, if I do that then everything else would be weird and the game still sounds the same (literally feels like the sound is coming through a cloth, just feel cloudy )

In audio settings I have THX Spatial and a different one called THX Spatial Audio which I set to default like you instructed. Do you know what the other one is about because I didn’t see it in your setup? Also (please do correct me if I’m wrong) you have to do the whole thx on, set to custom mode then thx off thing every time before you launch a game and it’s not a one time thing, right?
Yea you set your thx on just to put it at custom and then turn it off. Thx spatial vs thx spatial audio is one relys on paying for the software to use it, the other is given free from the headset. Some headsets don't offer thx spatial free, so that's why they have the option to buy it. Use the one that comes with your headset, which is the free one thx spatial audio
You only need to do it once when you start up the software. You do it every time once when you start up your PC. Thank you and enjoy!

Yes they are aware but again, it's fixed for newer headsets not the older ones. Still sounds good regardless it isn't a big deal.

@ correct yes, since the release of the kraken v3, barracuda and kaira, the v2 series of everything else didnt get updated into the newest synapse update, most likely due to the tuning of drivers from release.

THX Spatial, and I set it to Dynamic Home Theatre for Blackshark V2 Pro, however I don't use it anymore. I'm on Kraken V3 Pros, just feels like a polished version of the Blacksharks, but more comfortable and has Haptic feedback

Hello, just bought the Blackshark V2s and used your settings guide for Warzone, music, and open world. However, my friends tell me my mic quality sounds bad compared to my prior headsets (Hyperx Cloud IIs). I tried a few things out and when I picked the Broadcast mic equalizer, they said it sounded better but still not good. If you (or anyone else here) have better recommended mic settings, please share! Thanks.

Hey Man! Been following you from quite a while and really appreciate all of your content, your videos are BY FAR the most detailed ones for Razer v2 Pro's.
I want to double check with you on the following:
1. You mention that one should "activate" thx spatial audio on synapse but this just to be able to select the audio profile (game, music, custom, etc.), then turning it off. You suggest creating a custom profile, but my question is if it makes a difference if the custom profile is based upon the game mode, or upon the music mode, etc. What's the real difference between the music, game, movie modes that come by default?
2. If there are real differences in these profiles, then I would assume that creating the custom profile based upon game mode is preferable? If this is the case, then why use custom mode if one can directly select game mode from the different calibration profiles.
3. Why do you use a specific EQ for each and every single game?

Thanks for the help, glad i have found someone to help me with my BS V2 PRO. But the issue i can see with the headset, and maybe it's just me, but sometimes when i talk to someone i can kind of hear sound breaking a lil bit, maybe i need to tune down discord or smt, cause i don't seem to find that issue when i listen to music or smt else... Also i didn't try them on "wired" mode, and idk if it's even worth to try that, i have splitter for audio/mic jack, so idk might have different results... Also i had an issue with connection few times, and after i moved it away from other usb ports it seems like it works like it was supposed to, it's just a hassle cause my other usb3 on the front is not working for quite some time, so i won't be able to use them + charge them, but oh well, i guess ill try wired version if i don't fix that one...
Most likely it's an issue on there end, or discord connection, depending on your internet. Wired mode is mainly good if you have a steady connection to your case, but you.should see best results charging or wireless. Remember to barely turn your knob down abit, usually it cleans up the audio abit too, but I mean like barely move that thing. Just enough to hear the difference
