Iconic line from Clive - Hello, hello, here we go from Istanbul 05.
Thought he'd just answered the phone for a mo! Lol.
Loved this. Age 8 I listened to Clive every week. His commentary was immaculate. I knew very young that Clive had friends on both sides, but was always impartial. The 3-1 FA Cup victory in 1986 was the ultimate result re: the apogee of LFC v Everton
What an amazing insight into the rich past of ORIGINAL football journalism....RIP REALITY!!! ;(
Great stuff. Clive is one of the best to do it.
We heard his voice so often as kids.
When someone at school said to me 'you know Tyldesley is a United fan?', I got grumpy and said 'don't be daft, you can tell he loves us.'
That is simply incredible. Brilliant.
How ITV replaced him as lead commentator with Sam Matterface is a disgrace.
Can't believe they cannot see the drop of quality.
Don’t like that matter face. At all. Don’t watch him. When I see or him talk on anything I switch off.
I can still hear the jingle on Radio City's 'Midweek Match' programme and the great games at Anfield back in the 70's & 80's
He was also the commentator on Merseyside fm when he was reporting on the tragic events of the heysel disaster in 1985
that was great
Could listen all day to CT talk about anything football related
Was it Clive or Jon Champion that said "And Solskier has done it" when he scored the winner for United in the 99 CL Final.
It was Clive mate.
Taught he is a utd fan
So did I
