Hello Beard! Despite your (very wise) retreat from that flooded tunnel, this was no cause for disappointment. A winter walk on an amazing bit of coast. The lookout post was a living artwork, and not locked! What a beautiful thing, and so far, no bloody little tow-rag has smashed it up, burned it down or adorned it with aerosol "art." And the weird noise the door makes. And then you're pointing out where the old coast path was, and all the land to the South is spoil from the channel tunnel machines, Sharon and Tracey. Towering chalk cliffs above, France on the horizon. Not another human soul in sight. I really enjoyed this one. All the best. Nick.
There are underground streams around there, which regularly breach Archcliffe Tunnel before being patched up again. Back in the days of the slam-door trains you'd get soaked if you forgot to close the window!
Enjoyed this it was good quality video and what i like about your ones compared with some others is you get to see where these places are and the issues you come up against to get in ..great work and by the way think you was wise not going in this one especially alone !
Thanks friend, I don’t think anywhere should be a secret, plus, it’s not all plain sailing. Sometimes it’s just not worth the risk! Yes I could have gone in, but if I slipped and fell into that pit where the water was going, there could have been a strong suction under there. Not worth it without better planning! Thanks for understanding 👍
The beach hut im pretty sure its from WW2 ,it goes into the cliff, whats its purpose was ive no idea .Theres been people living in it for many years now during the summer.
We was down there just the other day and i noticed just along at the end of the sea wall and the start of the beach,if you look up the bank there is either a tunnel or large pipe outlet in the bushes, cant really make out what, its on the bank, you can just see it.Until then i,d never really noticed it before.
Me and the kids always go here for beach BBQs stop by the stream on the beach. If you walk further there is all winch machinery and engines on the beach and a lagoon + a slashed migrant dingy ;))
If it wasn’t for the water I would have, water in tight spaces is a no no for me! Definitely would be able to climb into it, plenty of footholds, but not sure if the video really showed just how fast that water was going, I wouldn’t have been able to hold myself against it!

Thanks for this comment, really encouraging to read. Appreciated 🙏🏻
Thank you for the adventure and thank you for posting the link (...more) to the featured area. 🌻
I live down the road from there and will be going for a walk there sometime soon when I get my new camera.
There some stunning views there! One of my favourite places for peace and sanctuary
Love the dystopian concrete esplanade at the end.
Loved your video, Thankyou for shareing it. ❤

Yeah, the guy who put me onto this was surprised when I told him about the waterfall! If it weren’t for that I could have got in quite easily

I had heard it was either a pump house or maybe for a large generator perhaps to serve the underground shelters.

Great stuff mate, as they say... live to fight another day 👌
this video was a waste of time .. i was looking forward to seeing inside the tunnel ..
Sometimes you have to know when to not go in, there will be another time.

Yeah, that was the tunnel I was originally looking for. Couldn’t see it for looking 🙄
