How could I have ever ignored Smashing Pumpkins for such a long time? This is genius. Comforting. This makes me want to escape everything. Leave everything and everyone and let myself wither in solitude, to let myself be born again in another form of life.
+Vermont4life48 I'm that type of person that gets easily exhalted. Some moments, I despise modern world and life entirely, yet others I sort of repent feeling that way. I'd just like to find some sort of balance in between. To be at peace with the world, you know?
I really like the 10-second bridge at 3:16 - 3:27. Soothing major seventh chords. Probably sounds like a weird thing to remember 20 years later but here we are.
Ain't it funny how we pretend we're still a child Softly stolen under our blanket skies And rescue me from me, and all that I believe I won't deny the pain I won't deny the change And should I fall from grace here with you Will you leave me too? Carve out your heart for keeps in an old oak tree And hold me for goodbyes-and whispered lullabyes And tell me I am still The man I'm supposed to be I won't deny the pain I won't deny the change And should I fall from grace here with you Will you leave me too? Too late to turn to turn back now, I'm running out of sound And I'm changing, changing And if we died right now, this fool you loved somehow Is here with you I won't deny the pain I won't deny the change And should I fall from grace here with you Would you leave me too?
Congratulations, it ended up being the best Smashing Pumpkins video I’ve ever seen. Before watching your video I always attached the lyrics of this song to native people.
At first I was just looking for a youtube upload of this song to introduce to a friend - I ended up introducing myself to this video and I've revisited it many times now - great work!
@wesdan126 The line is "this fool you love somehow... is here... with you" and it's probably my favourite Corgan lyric apart from Luna's "I'll hear your song...If you want me to... I'll sing along." Beautiful lyrics for beautiful songs.
i live how poetic this song is❤️this was the first english album i ever listened to after moving here from mexico. The previous owner of the first house my parents bought in iowa, left this album in the house🥰thank u whoever u were
Carve out your heart for keeps in an old oak tree... I always loved this line. For me, this was the definitive album of the second half of the 90s. The first half obviously belongs to Nirvana.
i think the smashing pumpkins were the best band of the 90's for sure, and it's not easy to make a video with their music, but all your videos are brilliant. thank you very much for share them with us. i know you like arcade fire. i bet you could do an amazing work with "laika", or "wake up", maybe using eisenstein stuff too. i hope.
Te felicito, congratulations!!!!, si capturaste la atmósfera de la canción al editar, bellísismas imágenes de esa película, me recuerda un poco al feeling de Stand inside your love, una de mis canciones favoritas de SP.
dear maeghan1edits: i love the smashing pumpkins and all your videos about them! but man when your high, both are an absolute dreamland!!! keep up the good work!
this was the first album that i ever fully became obsessed with.. the honesty was something 13 year old me had never heard from.. anyone. 25 years later I hear these lyrics from a fresh perspective and find overwhelming comfort in knowing pain like this can be transmuted into beautiful art.. life is full of powerful emotions that should be embraced regardless. pretending to be unaffected by this ride is to miss the point of living.
The lyrics "and rescue me from me and all that I believe" hit hard . I've personally done more damage to myself than anybody else ever could and wish someone would have rescued me from me a long time ago. 😢
I love this band from the start! What do u know there from Lombard which isn't far from Chi Town just like me. Props to u Smashing Pumpkins, I have always wanted to see them in concert and I hope I truly do! Peace out!
yeap the islands name is GALAPAGOS... i dont know why the change the name to GALAPOGOS... btw I remember i bought this cd 12 years ago. still great....
when i'd saved up enough cash to buy this album i was happy -when i actually bought it and got it home i was very happy - when i saw that it was a double cd - i think i pissed myself a little bit...good times
im thirteen and im going to have a band when im older, if i become famous i am going to have a entire concert dedicated to the smashing pumpkins just how they played their songs
good video i heard that if that quiet instrumental part if you listen to it reeeaaally closely you hear billy whispering "im sorry i put this shit...."

+Frank “BandoGodofFrankBlock” White ahah thank you! But why?
I like to linger in between things. And that is truly how I feel. So thank you for your thoughts!!

Your words as beautiful as the song itself. ❤
exhausted? :)
at 3:27 killed me back in the 90's and it still kills me now. wow. just so beautifully epic and passioned.

Once upon a time, I got sucked into Pumpkins world... but this song never left me! One of the best songs ever written.
this song is beautiful plain and simple.
"and should I fall from grace"
most beautifully sung words
amazing billy c. and smashing pumpkins.
I love 0:52-1:09. It's just perfect. I think it just captures genuine humanity so well.
"And if we died right now... this boy you love somehow...is here... with you..."
Ain't it funny how we pretend we're still a child
Softly stolen under our blanket skies
And rescue me from me, and all that I believe
I won't deny the pain
I won't deny the change
And should I fall from grace here with you
Will you leave me too?
Carve out your heart for keeps in an old oak tree
And hold me for goodbyes-and whispered lullabyes
And tell me I am still
The man I'm supposed to be
I won't deny the pain
I won't deny the change
And should I fall from grace here with you
Will you leave me too?
Too late to turn to turn back now, I'm running out of sound
And I'm changing, changing
And if we died right now, this fool you loved somehow
Is here with you
I won't deny the pain
I won't deny the change
And should I fall from grace here with you
Would you leave me too?
I can't disassociate this song and this video in my head- it's like they were meant to go together. Thank you.

Brilliant combination, I love how they take off the "masks" with "changing, changing". Maeghan you are a great artist.

Te felicito, congratulations!!!!, si capturaste la atmósfera de la canción al editar, bellísismas imágenes de esa película, me recuerda un poco al feeling de Stand inside your love, una de mis canciones favoritas de SP.

The lyrics "and rescue me from me and all that I believe" hit hard . I've personally done more damage to myself than anybody else ever could and wish someone would have rescued me from me a long time ago. 😢

Probably my favorite Smashing Pumpkins video. Music and imagery feel great together.
Buen trabajo amigo :D
One of the best...
This song explains exactly how I´ve felt the last 6 years of my life
3:27 to 3:59 might be my favourite part of any Smashing Pumpkins song.
I love this band from the start! What do u know there from Lombard which isn't far from Chi Town just like me. Props to u Smashing Pumpkins, I have always wanted to see them in concert and I hope I truly do! Peace out!

I won't deny the change.
good choice of movie footage!!! Dia del muerte a vintage version!!
this is great. thanks man :D
Well done, I like the feel of the whole vid.
The melody in the beginning of this song sounds similar to Zora's Domain from The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask.
I'm a big Eisenstein fan, so I looked up everything he's done... this one's available for download in some places.
Beautiful song.
well done! just epic...
3:15 best part of the montage, hands down :D
Love this....
a wee bit more lovely , zanies, than the day is long
IF YOU ASK ME... THIS IS AN OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO.
Haha it would be nice to have this all in one post. There's something else to this song. The fear of not being accepted with all your flaws.
a sweet sweet sweet song
When billy corgan sings 'slowly', he is the best singer I know.
Essa música há anos está em minha mente!!!
yeap the islands name is GALAPAGOS... i dont know why the change the name to GALAPOGOS... btw I remember i bought this cd 12 years ago. still great....
Sublime
when i'd saved up enough cash to buy this album i was happy -when i actually bought it and got it home i was very happy - when i saw that it was a double cd - i think i pissed myself a little bit...good times
Great song
@lucasvidaltoro
It makes me think of a conversation with a lover or loved one about growing older
😢
The part where the three men are standing with their arms tied in cross position would make a great album cover

@maeghan1edits beautiful video. well done. fits song perfectly
@Marixpress2 you said it alright
Love you

@maeghan1edits Where can I get this, it seems really amazing!
@napoleonmexicano y como sabes que billy corgan es dislexico.... busque no dice en la web... digo no....
"Es muy Romantica Caryn Ceoiln?..... El caliente !"

Well pardon me!
Actually is the GALAPAGOS Islands not GALAPOGOS like the song, they're in Ecuador. Beautiful Place.
@Marixpress2
*growing older together
good video i heard that if that quiet instrumental part if you listen to it reeeaaally closely you hear billy whispering "im sorry i put this shit...."
❤
what is this noir film?
Maybe because Mr Corgan is dislexic, remember that Adore song: appels + oranjes... I think thats the reason
❤️❤️
I am sure you know the value of this song!~!
