The Classic Schoolhouse Rock "I'm Just A Bill" with captions for my American History classes + a comment about the Supreme Court and the 4th Branch - the Jury
LOl! Hats off to the originators of my generation! THESE tiny lessons helped you learn independent thinking, originated outside the box and not over complicate. It also included " CORRECT AND POLITICALLY incorrect, moral" learning fun and easy! You retain the knowledge without being bored and " pontificated" to (ie the thought police) . Great show

I think it gave us a clear view of what happens when an idea becomes a bill and then eventually crossing all hierarchical decision process, becomes a law. When an idea is given by the local congressman to the committee, they debate on whether it should be a law or not. This bill then goes by the house of representatives and finally when the President signs it becomes a law. The new thing I got to know is that even though the bill passes through all hierarchical decisions, president still might veto the bill and it then goes on the same process again. The law can later be declined by the supreme court as unconstitutional and the 4th branch of jury might decline the law. This reminds me the power of the constitution in the United States of America.
Whew! You sure gotta climb a lot of steps to get to this Capitol building here in Washington! But I wonder who that sad little scrap of paper is... I'm just a bill, Yes, I'm only a bill, And I'm sitting here on Capitol Hill. Well, it's a long, long journey to the Capitol City, It's a long, long wait while I'm sitting in committee! But I know I'll be a law someday! At least I hope and pray that I will, but today I am still just a bill! Gee, Bill. You certainly got a lot of patience in courage. Well, I got this far; when I started, I wasn't even a bill-I was an idea! Some folks back home decided they wanted a law passed, so they called their local congressman, and he said: "You're right-there'd oughta be a law." And he sat down and wrote me out, and introduced me to Congress, and I became a bill! And I'll remain a bill until they decide to make me a law. I'm just a bill, Yes, I'm only a bill, And I got as far as Capitol Hill. Well now, I'm stuck in committee, and I sit here and wait; While a few key congressmen discuss a debate whether they should let me be a law! How I hope and pray that they will, but today I am still just a bill! Listen to those congressmen arguing! Is all that discussion and debate about you? Yeah, I'm one of the lucky ones. Most bills never even get this far! I hope they decide to report on me favorably, otherwise I may die! (Die?) Yeah, die-in committee! Oh, but it looks like I'm gonna live! Now I go to the House of Representatives, and they vote on me! If they vote 'yes', what happens? Then I go to the Senate, and the whole thing starts all over again! (Oh, no!) Oh, yes! I'm just a bill, Yes, I'm only a bill, And if they vote for me on Capitol Hill, Well, then I'm off to the White House where I'll wait in a line, with a lot of other bills for the president to sign! And if he signs me, then I'll be a law! Oh, I hope and pray that he will, but today I am still just a bill! You mean, even if the whole Congress says you should be a law, the president can still say no? Yes, that's called a veto! If the president vetoes me, I have to back to Congress and they vote on me again, and by that time you're so old... And by that time, it's very unlikely that you'll become a law! It's not that easy to become a law, is it? No, but I hope and pray that I will, but today I am still just a bill! He signed you, Bill! Now you're a law! (cheering) Oh, yeah!

The ending is now priceless in 2021. The Supreme Court may strike me down as unconstitutional. Or how I pray that they won’t but today I am still just a bill. Sponsored by Juneteenth 🥰
In 2023 your just a subpoena, or an indictment, or a conviction and most likely a sentence. You can try to be an appeal, or an injunction, but if your guilty, your just screwed.
RIP to Dave Frishburg, who also gave us "Conjunction Junction" (and a lot of jazz).
RIP to Technoblade too.

He was the only reason I watched the Merv Griffin Show. He was hilarious.
He played an assembly at my elementary school and you'd have thought Bruce Springsteen came to town 😅
There's a whole generation that didn't watch Schoolhouse Rock, and they're getting into Congress, and it shows.
Congress is still the same group of old hags that made this commercial, nothings changed
School House Rock is where I learned the preamble to the constitution as a kid.

Big 💰lobbyists determine
Bills fate
I love how even the song about how bills become law makes fun of how complicated the bureaucratic process of making a bill law is
It’s called checks and balances, fascist.

Here’s a weird and real law. In Ohio, it’s illegal to get a fish drunk.
You know someone got a fish drunk and someone reported that someone got that fish drunk.

I love Jack Sheldon's voice. My favorite one he did is, "Energy Blues."
Jorge Masvidal needs to see this.
I wonder who voted against that particular bill for buses to stop at railroads? Like who would opposed to that idea what are the sownsides for that?
