My understanding is the club went into this season saying Havertz was good enough to be #1 CF, with Gabriel Jesus being an alternate, still recovering after injury issues. This philosophy always felt wrong to me, and we targeted Sesko last summer, but that was only as a developmental project behind Havertz and Jesus,‘ at least initially.
If I were in charge I would have determined that a CF combo of Havertz and Jesus was not good enough, because while Havertz is crticised for finishing, we know Gabby Jesus isn’t exactly always clinical either. In that sense going into this January window and only having an attitude adjustment after Gabby Jesus got injured again was wrong in my opinion, and I know Gabby Jesus was hot in December, but for all we knew that could very well have been a purple patch.
Also, regarding Ollie Watkins, we just don’t know the truth, and might never know unless David Ornstein one day has a full report to share. Did Villa say Watkins was possible for 60m and Arsenal was unwilling to go much above 40m and hence Villa decided to sell Duran, or did Villa end up preferring to sell Duran regardless. We just don’t know for now.
Your " understanding" is I'm guessing based on what you decide to believe on the internet and what the club tell you right?

Do we know what's going on behind the sence. Are the owners doing their job. We just don't know. I agree there's something wrong with the system we should have got someone in shortly we could have brought someone in. It's hard for us to understand.

I can totally understand why we did not buy anyone. Look at the crap that Arteta walked into when he first took over Arsenal. Do we want that again up front? Do we want to purchase players who are not good enough? We are in the midst of building not just the best team in England, but possibly the best team in Europe. Arteta wants players who have shown a "touch" that they could posses star quality. That's why I believe we will get Sesko in the Summer.

What? Why was John Durant a headache for Unai Emery? Do you really know Durant that well to judge so harshly? Or is your judgement based on racial coding? Finally, in clashes between players and coaches, why must we always assume the players are at fault or have character flaws? Are coaches devoid of egos? Harry you’re gutted like the rest of us. It’s as clear as day you want signings. But can we please call out the be calm mob. The club won’t shag you lads. It’s been two windows of failure. We let Arteta down badly. It’s ok to be really upset with the club & still cheer them on. Yesterday was top 5 day at the Ems, absolute dream day.
