You guys do realise if callum understands the fundamental for all of the primal sources he can literal become the Avatar of this world
if he can. though he would be the first human, not the first ever considering what that elf in the mirror can do

@@Juli-de2of that means that Callum could be the only person to defear Aravos. Man this show has really set up some amazing storylines for the future
@@vishanthfishy huh. i dont know if i want callum to master all primal sources.
even if hed learn all of them, theres no way hed be good enough in all of them to challange avaros. and he hasnt the benefit of an avatar form, like aang against ozai.
if avaros truly is that powerful, he cant be defeated in 1v1. itll take several people
(depending where the story goes, hell maybe fight alongside viren, who knows. or maybe a grown up zym will kill him)
that being said, maybe another character will appear during the show who is also powerful enough. but thatd be bullshit.
if someone is going to fight avaros, itll be one of the main cast we already know. and i doubt that one of them alone will be enough
@@powercouch1845 yhh I get what you mean. They could subvert our expectations and make the final battle like the end of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood where everyone fights father rather than Avatar where only Aang faces Ozai.

I know people are saying that rayllum is rushed but I think people bond a lot faster when they are put in life-threatening situations every other day. IDK
Is from a wirthing standpoint, reyla isnt set in a caracther path rigth now she reject the assasins dogma that she had due having empaty and have a mission to stop the war but rigth now she dont made any strides in the personal self discovery journey so we dont know much abouth reyla beond a superficial level, wile we know prety much all aspects of caelum current caracterization and caracther path, i mean. So thats why no one considered a romance until the "book moon" were he could explore more of the moon elfs and reyla bavkground.
But yeah in a purely personal level it does make sence since reyla would see in caelum the atributes she craves for herself and a romantic intrest can be born.
O my...You exploded my mind whit that, you have all reason, surely what Rayla fells is love by him and a litlle bit after he will start to feels the same thing!
Yeah exactly, that's exactly it.
Nothing has been rushed, it was teased, it may take 2 seasons for something between them to happen (although they're already on the other side of the border, so it could take less than is thought).
People love that kind of drama. Love on the battlefield, foes become lovers, etc. the fact is: people do grow closer in tense situations than they would under normal circumstances
The expression on rayla's face when callum woke up was priceless! I laughed out loud from the moment.
How did you manage to laugh in such a moment? Rayla showing her feelings, Callum having some sort of heart attack, and Ezran with Claudia without any form of defense was making me shiver of fear, anxiousness and a little bit of hope.

To have used dark magic once and then deny it realizing the price he'd pay for using it already makes Callum stronger than Claudia and now he's surpassed many human mages who proceeded him by doing what they could not do and that is using primal magic naturally without a primal stone. Doing what was believed to be impossible and I imagine Claudia would be infuriated if she sees this.
he's proven that humans can do things if they stick to it.

This made me kinda glad that she didn't confess her love yet. I was actually hoping from season 1 she would confess by season 3 or 4.

I'm taking into account dark magic as well
NoOoOoOoOoOoOo I wIsH iT hApPeNeD
@wesley mowbray I think it's a bit too early to call it love, more like have feelings or caring very for him
This, this is Aaron Ehasz at his very best.
There are so many layers to Callum's self-discovery of the Sky arcanum. There's how it's a metaphor for coping with anxiety through acceptance. There's the angle about how it's a moral victory that proves the unnecessary malice of dark magic due to the fact that humans CAN wield magic. They just struggle a lot more with harnessing it than creatures born into it.
I think there's a subtle message there about how the best of our humanity needs to wrestle with the worst of our humanity in order for us to acheive a higher, more emphatic and spirtual understanding of ourselves and the world around us. To know something truly and deeply with "our head, hand and heart"; body, mind and spirit. It ties in nicely with King Harrow's final plea to his sons to 'reject history as a narrative of strength and instead have faith that it can be a narrative of love'.
Primal magic is about being one with the world. Dark magic is about taking from the world.
It's almost Star Wars-like.
My theory is that Callum represents the antithesis of Aaravos, whom I'm just guessing was imprisoned in that mirror for secretly teaching humans the art of dark magic. Hence his chemistry with Viren. If I'm correct, then Aaravos is a being who only believes something is as valuable as it is powerful. To him, broadening one's horizons by practicing malicious magic is no wrong at all, as long as it increases your power, and love, forgiveness and vulnerability are weaknesses because he doesn't know any better.
He's the big bad whom Callum will have to battle it out with in the final season.
And finally, the Rayllum showed up a bit earlier and stronger than I thought it would, but hey, I'm not complaining :)
I totally agree with you. 😉 And I'm not complaining about the Callum x Rayla starting up, either, in fact, I hope that it grows and blossoms into something beautiful by the end of the series. 😉☺️😊

I really loved this part; the way Callum explained what he'd realized and used that to finally wield magic, without needing a primal stone or some other external source or tool to aid him, it showed that sometimes to accomplish something all one needs is a new perspective, to see the world in a way they never had or thought to before and from that perspective gain a new understanding and greater enlightenment
That in and of itself was truly magical to me, and it emphasizes the phrase "Knowledge is power" in a wise and positive way

So far the main character I least liked / captivated was the Moon Elf (Rayla), I do not like her at all, and let's face it, she is a killer in training who would kill a father (The King) and his sons Princes) and if it were not for finding the dragon's egg I think our friends would be dead (or maybe Claudia would not appear at the last minute and save the two). And sokka finally gets that moon gf
Rayla screaming "Stay with me!" and "I can't lose you like this!" breaks my heart every time. It's not just the shipping, it's just that.... I can't explain it. I can imagine that Rayla loves Callum just like a best friend or a brother, and even then she would say things like "I love you" and not want Callum to die. Maybe she was just hesitant because they haven't known each other for that long, or she feels awkward saying it because she's never truly loved someone before, and not just in a romantic way.
Leah Christine Burian Perhaps, I can see why people feel it is kind of rushed. But at the same time I can also see why Rayla reacted the way she did. From what I’ve seen she doesn’t seem to have any positive people in her life or anyone she’s close to. So far it looks like Ezran and Callum are her only friends. So it’s not surprising she would quickly grow attached to them. But I would agree they could have done with more hints or jealous moments.
The King of Heroes I'm totally down for having Rayllum be canon, but it's also cute to think that Rayla cares about Callum so much, just as a best friend.
Leah Christine Burian I agree
callum‘ s dream sequence was probably one of the most meaningful parts of this season. when dream villads said that his conscience was a messy place, i felt that. as a teenager with mild anxiety, our characters are still in the formative stages and still trying to figure out how the world works. with the additional concept of actual magic, things only get harder. the remnants of his past still reside within him, but after he takes that breath, it feels as if they’ve settled to let him focus and just be.
Callum is play on "Caelum" which is Latin for sky
I think so anyway
Yeah, that's why its the last name of the most recent final fantasy protagonist whose name means night sky
*Pikachu surprise face*
@@reedsylvier5250 no... its surprised pikachu face not reversed.....
It's also a reasonably common name. At least here in the UK.
It was a good choice for the character though, considering its similarity to the latin word. I don't know if it has its root there, or if it's just a coincidence.
EDIT: I googled it: it's a Scottish Gaelic name that commemorates the latin name "Columba", meaning "Dove". It was popular among early Scottish christians because the dove was considered a symbol of peace, purity and of the Holy Spirit.
The commemoration of the name "Columba" is probably linked to St Columba, who is credited with introducing Christianity to Scotland in the 6th century.
It’s caelum but close enough
I think that Rayla herself is still a bit confused about her feelings for him, because she cared about him and all, but she was surely surprised when she caught herself being jealous of callums relationship with claudia. I just hope that the writers don't rush this so we can have at least a bit of a build up, because I feel like otherwise callum would stay with his feelings for claudia, and that's fine, just don't rush this and start putting out little signals. Maybe a little bit more subtle than this scene, but yeah. I do really wonder what they are gonna do with callum and when and how he is going to react to all this.
Anyway love the show, and I really love the music, characters and story. I really ship these two XD
Gekko Bos Yes I agree with this. Through out season 2 I have noticed hints of Callum and Rayla’s bond growing stronger through several scenes and cinematic shots. It does feel a bit rushed but I think there a reason on Rayla’s almost confession. A friend and I love this series and we were discussing this scene and he suggested since it seem that Rayla has started to develop feelings for Callum, seeing him possibly dying, she became emotional stressed and started to tear up in seeing her closest friend (from what we know that is) suffering. And upon realizing Callum could die, her possible feelings for him caused her to in a sense jump the gun even though she isn’t 100% sure what she feels.
I think now that Callum has a more in depth understanding of dark magic, via his inner struggle at the start of the dream sequence, it will open up new ways for him to see and understand Claudia. I think he will truly come to understand just how extreme and dangerous her delve into dark magic really is. For which I'm sort of conflicted, because I feel bad for Claudia as a person. I don't want her to fall irredeemably far into dark magic like her father, but as a character, and for the sake of the plot, it could create some interesting realizations for both her and Callum. Overall though, it will probably push Callum away from Claudia and possibly towards Rayla.
@Gekko Bos I COULDN'T agree with you MORE this! :D
I agree!
Look at Callum still does not like Rayla, he understands her, he respects and is learning to trust, but who he really loves and another. I also think the elves and dragons will be surprised of seeing Callum do magic which they believe humans couldn't do magic.
I can not wait to see the look on the illusion mage,s face when she discovers she been proven wrong!
The elves probably always knew humans can do magic. But chose to suppress the knowledge. Probably in season 3 what was the real cause of the war will be revealed.
@@Phantom19913 i would say elves dont have a clue due contextual clues and tropes asociated with elves, the DP elves are probaly super narrow minded, so wile the elven mages know prety much everthing about their respective arcanum the only caracther (ho isnt a dragon) ho have a undertanding as magic itself is avaros. @@snowvanelopy To the point he almost died. He was literally going into a complete respiratory system arrest. Frightened the shit out of me for him cause I love Callum.
I think it was meant to be a metaphor for that, if not something similar. Hence the "just breath" dialogue. It's kind of beautiful the sort of parallels with the real world you can draw from this show.
Rayllum fans: "I wish they would get together."
Season 3: "Wish granted"
Rayla: "Callum...I...I..."
(Callum wakes up)
Captain America: "You what!? You didn't finish!"
I see a lot of people saying that Callum has elf blood, but in my opinion that wouldn't be interesting from the storytelling POV. It would defeat the entire purpose of having a human capable of primal magic: Elves see humans as savages because they killed the dragon king and (suposedly) discovered dark magic AND see them as lower life forms for not having an arcanum. In the current setting I think both statements will be proven wrong by Ezran and Callum. Ezran will become a fair king, with a connection to the future Dragon king, proving that humans can be better than elves think. Callum will probably master most or all the arcanums (since that is probably the key to solving the key of aaravos) and will prove that just because humans aren't born with an arcanum it doesn't mean they are inferior to the elves. But this is just my opinion, let's just wait and see.
On the other side its clichee that the kid learned what other people couldnt the humans used dark magic because they had no choice and more when they were driven out
@@Siegberg91 Yes, It is cliche as well. But remember what Harrow said on the first episodes: A child is often has more freedom than a king. I think it's not about a child learning what grown up and studied men could not, but about a child having the strength to reject the "easy path" and the perseverance to achieve what was thought impossible. And all of this meaning would be taken away if Callum father is an elf because it would be replaced with: Oh, hey you have elf blood! That's why you can use primal magic! So obvious! It would take away the merit from Callum and place it, once again, on an elf. Humans need to prove that they are in equal footing in morale (Ezran) and magical prowess (Callum) so their fellow elves stop seeing them as terrible and inferior beings, and begin to see them as equals.
@@NasiroTB what i asume is that the cube allows a Person to have a famliar bond with a magic creature the Moment he bonded with the dragon prince he was able to learn wind magic.
@@Siegberg91 I hadn't thought like that, it is a possibility. But what we know about that cube is that it is called the Key of aaravos. My first thought about it was that it is the key that unlocks the prison where Aaravos is, but I am unsure. It would make sense if it connects you with another beings arcanum, but the name wouldn't make sense and Aaravos is an elf, he has a natural connection to the arcanums and would have little to no use to a device such as that cube (assuming it has the function you sugested, and also assuming he created the cube). Also one thing that intrigues me: In the letter to Callum, Harrow talked about Aaravos in the past, as if he was long dead. But it was revealed to us that he is alive and well, albeit probably locked up by the previous dragon king himself (probably for teaching dark magic to humans, if you believe in the theories). In my opinion if the cube is a key, it is probably the key to a secret hidden away by Aaravos himself: since he is the only elf alive who mastered all the 6 sources, only he can make all the 6 faces glow at the same time, perhaps that's how you use the key. We can debate about these topics all day long, since they are currently the greatest mysteries in the show: 1 - Who the fuck is Aaravos, and what are his intentions. 2 - How the hell Callum understood an arcanum. 3 - What is the purpose of the key of aaravos other than glowing in the presence of a being connected to a primal source. Only the future seasons will answer us!! We can only hope to have season 3 by late July or early August to see what awaits us...
NasiroTB from a technical standpoint, humans ARE inferior to elves. They're born with an arcana, humans aren't. What magic elves can easily learn, humans have a harder time learning it
The soundtrack name is Head, hand and heart which also plays when Claudia talks to Ezran
Rayla: Callum, I...
*Callum wakes up*
Me: Darn it!! She was going to say I love you!
I'm so glad Callum got to learn Sky magic despite what the Moon Nexus Elf said. He's living proof that humans weren't born with nothing. They CAN have primal magic if they just look deep inside themselves the way Callum did.
They WERE born with nothing though. It just proved that they weren't the lesser species they were thought out to be
The running theme so far, particularly when it comes to magic, is this idea that the easy way, in this case dark magic, isn't always the right way. Callum proves that humans are capable of using magic, despite what anyone else thinks, and, interestingly, it appears that, as a human without an innate arcana, Callum seems to have the ability to freely choose his arcana, whereas creatures like moonshadow elves seem to mostly be locked into whatever arcana they're born into.
I was initially frustrated by how adamant the elf was that magic, aside from dark magic, but it seems to me that the only reason the humans even developed dark magic in the first place is because the elves, the experts on magic, continuously told them that their species was inherently incapable of magic which, in a sense, also makes them culpable for dark Magic's creation.
Its not that they are locked. Look aavaros, even thou he is startouch elf he is capable of not only primal of stars but all other primal magic. Its just that none of the races except aavaros (maybe somone else in the future) didnt try to connect to other sources like Callum did. Also it seems that Aavaros is the one who invented dark magic and it would make sense since he mastered all primals he wanted more power and develeped dark magic and because of that dragon King locked him inside the mirror that's my theory thou, however makes most sense
I wish to caution that just because Callum (with his plot armor as main protagonist) can use elemental magic does not mean all humans have the ability to learn to do so. Just like Erza's animal link abilities are likely mostly unique to him and not something any human can learn.
@@bluelionsage99 so it could mean there is something with his mother's bloodline then. both sons have developed unique characteristics
I would rather play with the trope of the unchosen one rather with the chosen one, by the fact that he isnt special aside of his personalities traits make caelum's acomplishments much more maningfull. And fits way more with the them of the protagonis of not being defined by the past.
@@bluelionsage99 Well sure that might be the case but that's would be boring. I would prefer Callum just being talented with magic and humans having hard time connecting to primals instead of plot armor. Also if you dont know there is game in development based on DP world and It would suck if basicaly alll races except humans could use magic and humans couldnt. That would make no sense whatsoever. Brother its stated anywhere in the series that humans cannot use magic. Its just said that they are Born without connection to the primal
I like how Bait is amazed for about 2 seconds before going right back to uninterested again.
Everybody just talking about Rallum but I'm here like: "Oh my little BB Callum, I'm so proud of you!"
Sarai said "To know something truly and deeply, you must know it with your head, hand, and heart, mind, body and spirit." That's 6 things. There are 6 types of primal magic. Was that a hint of how to access all the primal magics? I love the whole dream sequence. It gives me chills every time I watch it. And we have seen Aaravos all of 3 minutes and he is one of my favorite characters. Best show I've seen since The Last Airbender
For the record, Callum's doing Primal Magic WITHOUT the natural connection Elves have to it. This means that Callum is ALREADY better at it than most Elves. They're playing on Easy Mode, he's on Legendary and catching up to them.
I like how Sarai holding Callum in the dream is the exact equivalent to Rayla holding him on that cliff, am I the only one who noticed that?
Not to ruin the mood, but I find it interesting that the main events of this can be summarised in this exchange.
Callum: I figured out how to do magic without a Primal Stone.

If i remember well It is the 3rd hug from Rayla in the 2nd season, all in hard moments for Callum, only the
fourth at the end of episode 9 happens at a moment of joy and initiated by both of them.
It is interesting to notice the parallels between the mother of Callum in the dream and Rayla, both giving a hug, both worried for Callum to stay alive. Callum incorporates Rayla in his dream and connects her with his mother, the mother have (i guess) a deep connection with Callum in history and affection but she is dead and Rayla have a deep affection for Callum but they just met, i am sure that Callum in a deep sense knows that Rayla loves him and that was the main motive for breath and stay alive. The beatufull of all of these is that conscius works that way, relates facts and evidence and mix it with pourpose and goals.
The dream sequence is awesome so much symbolism.

Six parts of oneself one need to truly understand something. Six Primal Arcanum's.
There is a definite connection.
Rayla's reaction to Callum waking up never gets old.
The dislike is Claudia
Lmao,facts
You can see that Rayla's tongue goes to her higher teeth, meaning that whatever she was going to say starts with D, T or L.
Galaxy Neutralizer Rayla: callum i...

She was gonna say like/love!! At least I hope she was!

MY SHIPPING SENSES ARE TINGLING!
And you got to admit that scene was pretty Epic can't wait for November 22nd for season 3
I ship them.
And then Rayla tears a little for him, fearing of losing him. And the hug trying to comfort him. And then how she fixes the sleep crust.
I ship them more.
Fans at this scene: *_"Goddamnit!"_*
Fans a season later: *_"Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!"_*
Callums eye bags disappeared faster than peter parker in infinty war
I loved this scene so much. It was great that Callum could finally do what everyone told him he couldn't do
I am going to be honest I might have shipped Rayla and Callum but I did not expect the writers to at least play with the idea that they might become a couple. I'd already accepted that they might only stay as friends have a brother/sister relationship.
As for Callum learning and understanding sky magic, this along with returning Zym could not only help end the war but could help reunite the land as one again. This whole mess started because humans wanted to use magic and created dark magic to do that. Now even if it's still harder for human's to master, as long as Callum's heritage is confirmed to be full human( not a half human/ mythical creature hybrid), Callum's discovery proves that humans CAN tap into the primal energies
@Red Hood Yeah, I am SO glad that the Writers decided to play with the idea of Callum x Rayla AS being a Romantic Couple!!!!!! : D
@Red Hood And I'm hoping that it WILL confirmed that Callum is a FULL Human so that OTHER people can DO Magic in the Show! :D
Callum and Rayla have much more in common than Callum and Claudia. They can see how ridiculous this war is and they are doing everything to make ends meet. Calum was the first to see Rayla as a friend and not as a murderer, so as Rayla was the first to see him as he was and not as everyone said he should be. Calum used dark magic even knowing it was wrong and dangerous just to save Rayla, they are even the perfect couple.
I love them even more than I did a year ago
Also for those of you who don't know, Ancient Draconic is Latin. Aspiro means Breath. Maybe we'll see an "Aspiro Ignis" later in the show, how cool would it be to see Callum breathe fire.
Galen Jones OMG THANK YOU I DIDNT KNOW THAT
Beautiful ❤️ Rayllum ❤️ The Dragon Prince is amazing ❤️
I must say, the way one unlocks their link to the primal, is rather interesting and clever. I hope to watch Callum learn more about the other schools of magic and their primals.
The soundtrack of this show is brilliant
I got soooo excited Rayla almost said she loves him. I had a major joy overload. Hopefully along the way they’ll be able to develop their relationship. From what I can tell the Dragon Prince might be going to be as long as Avatar the Last Airbender. Avatar was 18 episodes in each season Water, Earth and Fire. While if the Dragon Prince is 9 episodes per Primal Source. 6 Primal Sources, 6 seasons, 9 episodes for each, two seasons together will be 18.
Avatar actually had 20 episodes in its first two seasons and 21 in the third and final season. The Legend of Korra's seasons fluctuated between 12-14.
I watched it so many times before watching Dragon Prince, that when this moment came deja vu effect was so intense that i doubted time and date.
Nothing is more beautiful than seeing a son being reunited with his mother. T
This was the best episode of the series so far... This show touches on so many subjects from anxiety, to deaf ppl, to being raised by a step parent and a lot of other real life plight. This is probably the best animated show on Netflix period and I can't wait for season 3 and to learn about the mystery that is aaravos.
God I love these two. The last three episodes of Season 2 have brought me fully on board the Rayllum train. From Callum drawing Rayla in his book because he was so worried about her, to Rayla trying so hard to be angry with Callum for using dark magic to help her, and then having that anger turn to concern and then to fear once he starts to succumb to it. And in that fear, she almost confesses her feelings not only to Callum, but to herself. That development is so good for these characters and critical to setting up this scene above.
I’m hoping in Season 3, the writers keep up this slow burn, with both characters oblivious to the other’s growing affections until it all comes out in another tense and Important moment of their journey. Clearly, Callum will be wrapped up in developing his Sky Arcanum powers but he will also be the stranger in Xadia, Rayla’s homeland. Rayla will have to protect him from other elves and there will be situations that will test their bond in ways they haven’t experienced yet.
Plus, as much as I love Ezran, he won’t be there to be a third wheel. These two, with the exception of Zym, are on their own now. Fingers crossed for Rayllum!
Side note: I know the true point of this scene is to represent the inner struggle with anxiety and how it can be overwhelming but the Rayllum bug took over this scene. Sorry not sorry.
This basically shows in their world you can learn to be connected to the elements. Which is kinda crazy no other humans try to do before. Humans most likely try so hard before to try to connect to magic and stop when they found out about dark magic.
I swear this is the best scene in the entire show because
1. Overcoming anxiety
2. Magic
3. Facing your fears
4. Mom flashback
5. Hugging
6. Breathing
7. Confession of feelings is cut off
8. Believable romance (people bond faster when put in life-threatening situations)
9. Callum is okay :D
10. Rayla's face when he wakes up XD
I don't like Claudia so I really hope Callum ends up with Rayla. They're so cute! Also I like that the confession of feelings was cut off because it gives them more time to bond and leaves more room for plot.
Okay this is getting away from me but THIS WHOLE SCENE IS SO GREAT
Aw, c'mon Claudia is meant to be a good girl deep down and doesn't deserve the hate (especially if it comes from resentment for being Callum's crush) liking Raylum than Caldia is okay and perfectly understandable considering they have more screentime and have character arcs that parallel each other more. But hating a character just because she stands in the way is unfair.
I fear no man, but this:
*breathing*
It amazes me...
If you like this scene, wait till you see s4 e4
This scene resonates with me so deeply. I always feel like crying when watching this. Oh, the goosebumps! 🥺😭
I love two particular things in this scene.
The first one; Callum struggling with his anxiety and conquering it. If you think about it, he didn't have it easy, despite his prince-like life. He always felt like an outcast (being called step-prince for starters), wasn't good at anything except drawing, but he never gave up nevertheless. I really admire that he found a power that his is own.
The second thing: Rayla and the chemistry she shares with Callum. Both of them want to change things and bring peace for everyone and by attempting that, they are going through a dangerous quest. At the same time, they come to discover more on themselves and become more caring as well for each other. With the emotional chemistry they are currently sharing, I think Rayla saw in Callum someone she can trust, but also someone who doesn't care about her past and her mistakes and accepts her for who she is and I think that's what made her start to fall for Callum.
I hope this path continues to bond these two closer.
Love the music when Callum is doing sky magic
The shipping wars have begun
This is so far one of my favorite scenes of the show.
it really gives off donghua vibes since in a lot of donghua characters are dreaming sinking underwater just before they get a power upgrade.
You know Callum came VERY close to loosing his life here actually because of his little stunt not only to save Rayla but help that Fire Dragon too by doing the one thing he said he did not want to use ever. That's one reason Rayla almost confessed, cause she was worried and very frightened(which I'm sure isn't an easy thing or a Moon Elf to show/reveal?). But I'm also relieved he's ok and excited he learned a primal element. Callum will more then likely and probably WILL end up the "Merlin" of sorts, the light to our villian's dark.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't his design partially inspired by the Merlin series? But back on topic, Callum and Ezran are the keys to unify the Five Human Kingdoms with Xadia: Ezran has a telepathic connection with animals and Callum is a living example that humans can learn primal magic and not be reliant on dark magic. Maybe, just maybe, humans could be able to make their own primal stones. I know primal stones are rare but hear me out!: Remember when Zym and Callum went atop the hill to the warehouse with the long lightning rod? What if humans setup and mined quarries with lightning diffused into the ground via rods? If they heated and pressurized the minerals they'd have these tiny primal gemstones, however that wouldn't be enough. Although, if they put these gemstones on something that has an innate connection to the user, -such as adorning the bookcover of a sketchbook- , maybe it will act as a more personalized conduit to make their own spells. ALRIGHT! I'm saying this because I'm hoping Callum can use his sketchbook as a grimoire; don't look at me like you weren't thinking the same thing!! Just picture it: an medieval illuminated manuscript as a grimoire. It would be....AWESOME!!!
Look at Callum still does not like Rayla, he understands her, he respects and is learning to trust, but who he really loves and another. And honestly I Shipi the Callum with Claudia, by the time she is the best character, I sincerely hope the two end up together in the end. I just hope that Callum and the Moon Elf (Rayla) do not end up together, seriously it would be too cliché and bad. But if Claudia goes through an arc of redemption and evolution it would be lovely to see her callum together at the end.
@@cavaleirot Ummm....I think you're forgetting when in book 1 Runaan ordered Rayla to kill the watchguard that found their group but she couldn't; Rayla has never killed anyone before, she said so herself MULTIPLE TIMES. That mission was her first experience at assassin's work. You also need to bear in mind that Rayla thought the King cruelly slayed the Dragon Prince along with Thunder; in their eyes, it was just punishment. Besides, even when Rayla showed the egg to Runaan to stop the mission altogether, he wouldn't listen and finished the mission anyway. Look I get that people have their own ships and support them but villainizing a character based on personal bias or gain isn't the right way to go about it. By your logic, Claudia would be a murderer for killing living creatures just to gain power. Claudia uses dark magic but that doesn't make her evil: she just thinks humans need it to get by in a magical world where humans are essentially powerless and defenseless.
@@lonerider4164 oh believe me I have noticed the Merlin connection. DP if you pay attention seems to have a lot of King Arthur legends influence in some ways. But the making primal stones would be interesting.
@@WhiteKoneko
The Arthurian connections I've seen are mostly character related:
King Harrow = King Arthur
Callum = Merlin
Soren = Mordred
Viren = Morgana le Fay? I say this because he's not above using his own children for his schemes to gain control of the kingdom
I can't think of which characters Rayla, Claudia, and Ezran would be.
Ikr?!! I thought when they went to that lightning shed, it'd foreshadow them making their own primal stones later on.
Prince callum:the first human air sorcerer. Even though he's a fictional character, I'm proud of him.
I just realized that the ships kiss it not gonna happen until closer to the end bc that happened in avatar
They introduced lgbt characters this season the kiss will happen sooner than later.
Elena Pacini vlogs I want season 3 already lol
But this isn't avatar, though. And it's not like Katara and Aang only kissed once.
@GW-Knight I wouldn't compare it to LOK because none of the writers worked on the show. Besides, the creators of LOK didn't know they'd get another season that's why the two end up together.
loooooooooool
I know this is more about Callum’s connection to the arcanum but can we just talk about how Rayla purposefully wiped away his sleep crusty to touch his face again. Bro.
She was about to say “Callum I.. I love you” if you listen carefully

i love how loving sarai is, this scene between her and callum is my all time favorite it’s so well done ❤️❤️
Really hoping Rayla didn't confess in this season... they're much better allies than lovers. Also, it's like only a week removed from "Hey, I was part of the hit squad that killed your dad."
I mean... its gonna happen eventually. I'd rather have it happen in season 3-4 than for it to be dragged on until seasons 6 and 7.
I also love the "villains" for their complexity: Viren is at first glance your typical dark wizard but his craving for power was born by the legit fear for humanity's future and love for his country, his children are even more complex due to their father's nature both Soren and Claudia were desensitized to the point they truly belive that father knows best no matter what, yet they doubt their actions if it implies hurting someone close to them, but not enough to stop them from doing them, Claudia in particular displays a creepy blissful innocence when talking about squeezing the magic out of magical creatures, she's kinda like a fusion between azula and lola bunny (looney tunes show version) and I love it.
To those of you who say it's rushed, keep in mind that there are SEVEN seasons of Dragon Prince. If this series follows the 9 episode trend, we will have ourselves 63 episodes overall. We've still got plenty of episodes to watch before this is all over.
I like how he kept trying, not giving up hope, even after making up his mind to use dark magic to be even a little bit more help to everyone, he used it once but didn't succumb to its power, and ultimately got the arcanum. There is nothing more motivating than proof and now that he has proof that he can learn magic he can move forward to understand the other arcana
I was surprised when Callum and Ezra's mother sit next to him helping him, it's like her spirt got into his dream to help him.
that's his mother too . Biological one
Reminded me of when naruto got control of the nine tails
I loved the episodes from where Callum used dark magic to his whole little fever dream session. it was great development for him. also, I'm digging the moment he got with his mom. I need more of that in my life.

I say it tol early to tell wich the ships holds more ground but as for reyla and claudia they arent as well defined as caelum carather path, but it because half of season 2 was dedicated to flesh out caelum, and season one is to set the general plotline, maybe we will get more abouth reyla in next season, but i will rather say claudia will progress more since the sun dragon in the end implies in next season being book sun instead of moon.

yeah but i feel like the showrunners themselves are rooting for rayla and callum idk
I think I like Rayllum better, because what would people call the ship between Claudia and Callum? Claulliam? That just sounds wrong.
I can’t wait for rayla and Callum’s build up relationship and did anyone else get chills when he did the primal magic?
For those saying that Rayla was going to say ‘love’ due to what it seemed like her tongue going to the top of her mouth; I’m fairly certain that is just due to the model they are using and the angle at which it is placed, as an animator myself sometimes shadows and angles can affect an object and make it appear like something else-
I think she was stuttering because she didn’t know what she was gonna say, imagine if someone who you’d consider your best friend was unconscious, wheezing, and you thought they were going to die, you’d probably have racing emotions and stuff too 😉
I've been watching this sence over and zover again and it's still good.
