Wow this is an incredible message. Not sure why I'm crying but this has moved me. My daddy battled his own demons with addictions as a Vietnam vet. We, me and our family suffered because of it growing up but I always felt compassion and love for him because even as a little girl I knew he was hurting. Many years later we reconciled and shared the love of Jesus before he passed from glioblastoma 6 years ago. I know loved and forgave him just as he has for all of us. I am attend Celebrate Recovery at my church for my own hurts, habits and hang ups and it's such a beautiful community and family who are the realest people I know. God bless you Pastor for this most beautiful sermon and I pray it touches and frees anyone who may be struggling with their own addictions and may they know freedom is possible and how much they are needed and loved. Thank you pastor for this message. My daddy who was my very best friend passed away 10 years ago. His passing changed everything for me and there still is not a single day that I’m not missing him and wishing he was here with me to help guide me or just to hug me and tell me everything’s gonna be ok. My fiancé is battling drug addiction and I was ready to give up hoping he could be set free and we could have the future we have planned when I turned on your service this morning. I felt tired, I felt defeated and just felt like Ive been wasting my time trying to help him and that God wasn’t going to answer my prayers and then you showed your dads favorite scripture. “ do not grow weary in doing good, for at the right time you will reap a harvest if you do not give up” I needed to hear that today so thank you pastor. My fiancé is battling drug addiction and I was ready to give up hoping he could be set free and we could have the future we have planned when I turned on your service this morning. I felt tired, I felt defeated and just felt like Ive been wasting my time trying to help him and that God wasn’t going to answer my prayers and then you showed your dads favorite scripture. “ do not grow weary in doing good, for at the right time you will reap a harvest if you do not give up”
I needed to hear that today so thank you pastor. You decision to share your dad with us changed so many things for me and I’m sure for so many other people as well. To put it into a term in honor of your dad, you knocked this one out of the park! Praise God!
